What's in a name?

Rock Solid might be exciting

Dirk (anything)
Spartacus has a nice ring
How about something with a Nordic sound, like Horst?

i’ve always liked savage as a last name. so something savage…hhhmmmm, i have beyond jennifer and jason here let’s take a look, shall we? ahhhhh, here we go macho names:

bruno savage
wolf savage
thor savage
samson savage

well, these aren’t sounding very macho, more like name a german shepard, let’s try power names.

flint savage (better)
devlin savage (devilish)

maybe just a tough, i only need one name thing. call me savage, no need for further enhancement.

Hmmm, well, Dirk Gently’s already taken…

I kinda like the Rock names, myself. Or Steele…

I spent an evening thinking over this very question in the Pub about 2 months ago. My nickname in work is “Eddie” (I’m not going into the reasons ;)) so I chose that as a good place to start. After several suggestions (and several pints) I needed to answer the call of nature, and stuck on the toilet wall was a sticker that said “Sanitised by Swisher”. I liked the name Swisher, but tought it was too long. so my adventure name is
Eddie Swish- secret lover, undercover

I must be the first ‘Simpsons’ fan to post here, because the obvious answer to this question is:

Max Power

I instantly thought Simpsons…and also Asimov.

I must be the first geek to post here - because in one of the short stories, his ‘hero’ is bored with his job (in the nuclear industry), lack of promotion/recognition etc & goes to a ???name-ologist??? who recommends that he should change an S to a Z (or vv, I forget). The CIA etc wonder why he’s doing it, give him promotions to keep a better eye on him & he invents/finds something that stops the third world war from happening…so it’s all in the name.
