What's In A Name?

Haven’t you ever heard of Chevy Chase?

Had two patients this week, pre teen girls, one named Queen and the other Illicity.

Claude Darling

I had a boss named James Joyce.

His wife’s first name was “Joyce.” She must have loved him very much.

In college I had a Professor Bland, and a Dean Dull.

I had a shop teacher in junior high named Mr. Dull.

I knew a girl in college with the last name Death. It was pronounced “deeth”, but she wondered if she should go into medicine if she’d be named “Dr. Death.”

We had two brothers as students once. The parents had named them Jor-El and Kal-El.

Did you go to Georgia Tech?

That reminds me, my dad went to Harvard in the 70’s and had a professor of physics named Pound. Not (that) funny in itself, but Harvard was among the first universities to publish student reviews of professors. His read, “The unit of boredom is the Pound.”

And I’m now recollecting the “Brown Paper Kid” story.

I tell you, life ain’t easy for a gal named Sioux.

I remember my mum telling me about a student who’s last name was “Anker” and first initial was “W”.

I hope for his sake his last name wasn’t actually spelt “Anker”. Probably “Anka” or “Anchor”.

Was their father Nicholas Cage?

I was watching a doc and one of the people featured was named Seath (pronounced “Seth”). You’d have to always be explaining, “No, no, not like 'Heath”, like ‘death’." :smack:
