What's it got in it's pocketses??

It’s got nothing in its’ jeans pocketses, but it’s got $0.45 & an ancient Three Musketeers wrapper in its’ right jacket pocket.

It’s got a pursssssssssssse, it does.

Like enipla, my pockets are always the same.

If jeans (which happens to be now):
Left front – Keys, change (if any; usually none, but currently 86 cents – I was going to buy a soda when I went out this morning, but didn’t)
Right front – pocketknife
Left rear – handkerchief
Right rear – wallet

When I’m at work, I wear cargo pants and carry my notepad (and pen, if no shirt pocket) in the right leg pocket.

Cargo pants and a coat with mucho pockets.

RF Pants 1:

  • ballpoint pen
  • mechanical pencil
  • change
  • metal money clip with a single $5 bill folded up too many times, so that it won’t slip out (how sad)

RF Pants 2:

  • 3 black ponytail elastics

LF Pants 1:

  • squeeze-light keychain, no keys (how sad)

LF Pants 2:

  • nothing

RB Pants:

  • wallet (i.e., credit card/driver’s license holder)

  • hat
  • pack of Orbitz gum
  • empty Orbitz gum wrappers
  • empty plastic bag (just got a puppy … don’t want to be caught w/o a poop bag)
  • 2 blank scraps of note paper
  • heating oil delivery receipt that was tucked into the door of my sister’s country house
  • take-out menu to Taco Shack (sack of ten for ten bucks … yum)

  • 2 gloves
  • lip balm
  • keychain with all house & car keys

Coat Pocket 3:

  • 2 Moleskine notebooks
  • sunglasses

  • Doggie training treat (smells like bacon)

Coat Pocket 5:

  • business cards for my day job

  • bank envelope with various transaction receipts

Back Pocket: Wallet including at least $40 cash, DL, Handcuff Key, Permit for $300 Noisemaker, Misc paperwork.

Belt, Right Side: Leatherman Supertool 200

This is my everyday “load”. I reduce it for formal occasions (less bulk) or increase it depending on what I may find myself doing at night. I rarely travel by air.

It’s doesn’t haaave pocketses at the moment, my preciousss no it doesn’t. It just got through ssshowering after going running, and it has on it’s ssssweatpants. Military issssue sssweatpants from Ft. Benning, oh yesss.

Right front trouser pocket: Not-clean pocket-handkerchief, bunch of keys, motorcycle key on seperate fob.
Watch pocket: watch (what else?)

Apart from the unusual amount of change, this is pretty much standard for me.

Left coat pocket: one chapstick, two packs of Extra gum, two lens tissues, two adhesive bandages, one folded-up blank piece of paper, and a smaller paper with some coordinates scribbled on it.

Right coat pocket: three alcohol prep packets, two black sharpies, a box-cutter, a pair of embroidery scissors, one red pen, one black pen, a pair of forceps, and one wire tie.

Upper coat pocket: a black pilot pen, a Pocket Pal date planner, and another slip of paper with a phone number and e-mail address.

The preceding because It’s wearing a lab coat, It is.
In the old jeans pockets are some assorted coins and a bunch of keys.

Pretty boring really.

Right front jeans pocket: lockblade pocketknife (which I have had since my days in the Boy Scouts 30+ years ago), 20 cents in dimes

Right & Left rear pockets: nothing

Attached to belt: Leatherman Multi-tool (folding pliers, blade x2, several screwdrivers, file, sawblade, scissors), digital camera.

That’s right, I basically carry around 4 pocketknives with me all the time, and all this stuff (other than the change) HAS to be in those pockets for me to feel right.

Thisss one has a purssssse, too, it doessss, AND it just changed out of work clothes- even sssssssso…

right pants pocket has a magnet advertising popsicleses, orange oneses at that.
also fifty cents american (one quarter, two dimeses and a pretty nickle)

those cutesy zippered pockets in it’s warmup jacket have loads an loads of fluff, just for youuuuu!

Taped to my monitor at home is “You are talented in many ways.” Only kept because my girl saw it and accidentally muttered “God yes” loudly enough for me to hear. It makes me smile.

As far as my pocketsses:
Left front: Too many keys on a UMD collar.
Right front: Cheap pen.
Watch pocket: Pocketwatch. And a damn fine one, too. Great gift.
Right back: Wallet somewhat like TM’s. No cash, and a fortune. “The superior man is modest in his speech, but he exceeds in his actions.” 12, 15, 26, 39, 41, 46, 2, 4, 7 if you’re a gambling man.

Hm. This is easier since I’m not wearing my coat.

Left front trouser: Palm Zire 71 in metal case; largish ballpoint pen, retractable cartridge, says: “Faces of Success National Title I Conference January 29-February 1, 2005 Hyatt Regency Atlanta.” (I write on No Child Left Behind, and I guess this is to remind me of next year’s conference); one 2000 quarter, Virginia reverse

Right front trouser: One blue felt-tip pen, one mostly-empty packet Listerine strips, patient receipt from my dentist, far too much small change (don’t know how that one quarter escaped to the other pocket

Left rear trouser: empty. I’m right-handed.

Right rear trouser: Wallet, attached to my belt with a chain.

Shirt: Two prescriptions that I have been forgetting to drop off at the pharamacy for over a week.

Don’t mean to hijack, but a while ago I had lost a ring that was a very dear gift to me. It had been missing for about a month and I had at this point assumed someone had stolen it. I was talking with a friend of mine while I had my hand in my pocket. I was fumbling around with something in there.

“What do I have in my pockets?” I thought out loud. And pulled out the ring I had lost  It had somehow come off my finger in my pocket, run through the washing machine  and was still in the pocket of the pants which sat in my dresser for some time before being worn again.

I often have weird things in my pockets…magical things. Very often including a Vernet Thumb.

Curiously, a copy of The Fellowship of the Ring.

The saddest thing is, despite the fact that I carry a purse that could arguably be called a suitcase, I still have all this crap in my pockets.

Coat, left: Work ID badge, cigarettes, lighter, gum wrapper.

Coat, right: Car keys, sunglasses.

Jeans, left: Two hard candies, paper clip, folded post-it note.

Jeans, right: Another lighter, annoying necklace I couldn’t wear all day.

Jeans, back: Paperback book.

hmmm…

White Coat on wards:
Breast pocket: Pencil, pens, post-it notes, notebook, ID badge, reflex hammer
Right pocket: Stethoscope, mini-mental test, ventolin inhaler, phone
Left pocket: Wallet, BNF, Keys, beeper list, Ward list, day’s theatre list, neuro pins, tuning fork, torniquet, tissues, tictacs.

The only things in my pockets the rest of the time are phone, keys, money, tissues, ATM card, ID.

Today I’m carrying:

shirt pocket: Pilot G2 rollerpen; Chris Reeve Mnandi pocket knife

on belt: Arc 4+ flashlight; keys clipped on with a carabiner, with spy capsule, Traser Glow Ring, Victorinox Rambler knife and Arc AAA flashlight

coat breast pocket: wallet; Persol sunglasses; Toscano Riserva cigars

coat side pockets: cell phone; disposable lighter; tissues; change; gloves

I’m wearing cargo shorts with lots of pockets…

Right Front: Cell phone, matchbook with about 8 matches, car and house keys, one US quarter (CT version).

Left Front: Work keys (about 12 keys), 44 cents American, half a small box of wooden matches, and a folded up post-it with a phone number on it. I’ve been carrying it for a while now, and I will continue to do so until I figure out whose phone number it is.

Right Leg: Wallet

Left leg: Pack of Dentyne ICE Artic Thunder (or something)

Right Rear: Nothing

Left rear: 4 US $1 bills

Shirt pocket: Pack of Marlboro Lights, full book of matches, one fine point Sharpie.

Wow, I’m quite the little pyro today (3 books of matches!?).

No coat pockets because no coat/. It’s 75 degrees out there today.

Left front pants pocket - key ring with house key, office desk key, one car key, and a bunch of other keys whose purpose is now a mystery. Car keys for my car, with remote control. Credit card case, with overflow cards and ids, now fairly thin. Wad of clean tissues.

Right pocket. Wallet, with change purse, and most used cards, and a few mealy bills. Swiss army knife. Dime I found on my dresser this morning.

Rear pockets - empty.

Shirt pocket - two pens, from various hotels, cell phone, metal business card case, comb, piece opf paper with things I should be doing. Company id, which is a smart card, is now stuck in computer.
