What's that clickin' noise in the MMP

**Bumba **- Poldark really isn’t a soap opera, tho there are a few sub-plots… It’s a period drama about a soldier who comes back to Cornwall after American Revolutionary War. I think it’s very well done, and the scenery is gorgeous!

Nut, for some reason, I thought you were farther up north - but you’re living in the realm of Poldark and Doc Martin? Very cool! I’ve added Cornwall to my bucket list.

Just finished vacuuming and steam cleaning the traffic areas in the house. It’s so nice to have non-spotted carpets again. Our fault, tho, for getting a cream-on-slightly darker cream pattern. It’s not pet and baby friendly, but it’s clean now, so yay. It sucked up enough hair (even after I vacuumed) to build another dog!

**Red **- I would love to make a batch of pierogi, but my grandmother’s recipe, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE, has spearmint in the potato mixture, and **FCD **doesn’t like it. Plus it’s an all-day, messy project. Maybe after I’m retired, I’ll get bored enough to make some.

And her gołumbki is cooked in a big pot on the stove with chunks of potato - boiled rather than baked and no tomato sauce that I’ve seen in other recipes. I’m guessing it’s typical of the part of Poland where she grew up.

OK, time to assume the position while the carpets dry. I deserve a rest.

Irk is done for now. Didn’t make my bonus but I am close enough I should be able to make it tonight. If I don’t I will be pissed.

The picture is sooooo cute Peaches.

My son doesn’t have a phone because he really doesn’t need one. He doesn’t talk to anybody, and if he has to there is a house phone still. Only because I need it for irk.
But the team he is on is using text messaging to communicate, so he’s using my phone.

This team assignment stuff is so messed up. This is a class in Leadership and Human Behavior, and the professor is the worst communicator. Nobody knows what they are supposed to be doing.
Everybody understands the part about doing three team assignments, which will be community service. Everybody understands that each person will have to be a team leader or co-leader since there are more than three on the team. The team letter has to write a thank you letter to person who allowed them into the organization to perform the service, and then everybody must sign the letter. If you don’t sign the letter you lose a letter grade on the assignment. The team leader is responsible for getting a copy of the thank you to the professor.
That part is all clear.
However, there is a part where there has to be a 5 page paper written about the event. It needs to include the type of leadership used, a rubric to rate how well the leader did, and a bunch of other stuff. But according to what the professor told my son, everybody is supposed to write their own 5 page paper. According to some other team members, it is supposed to be a group paper, with everybody contributing.
For a professor who is teaching about leadership, she sure isn’t very good at it herself.
My son already has two and a half pages written.

Watch party was fun last night. Going tailgating before today’s game. I’m making country ham and cheese cornbread.

“Bon AROOOOOf!”

The nick nack, Paddy, whack store?

Grandma Hilla made that. Mom made Hamburger Helper. Guess the chef gene skipped a generation.

Did some knitting, cut up some celery for **FCD **to munch upon, put a dozen eggs on to boil, and pulled out a tuna steak for my supper - no one else likes tuna steak that much - the savages!!! I’m also cooking up some rice that’ll be stuffed in the cabbage with the beef and onions and other stuff. Tomorrow. I just can’t get motivated enough today.

It’s been dreary and overcast all day, so the carpet isn’t drying all that well. I won’t be able to put the house back together till tomorrow. But the carpet is clean, so there’s that.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, I ushed (didn’t trip or drop the alms plate so I call it a win), had brunch/N.O.L. and accomplished nappage. All in all a good day. I has a sad however. My Uncle Earl (last remainin’ uncle) died yesterday at the age of ninety-two. He had been in declinin’ health and was in hospice care so no big surprise. Still, I have no aunts and uncles now. His daughter let me know this mornin’ and asked if I would pass the word on to my sibs and the various other cousins. I felt kinda tacky doin’ it the way I did, but I did it via facebook messenger. Most everybody is on the book of faces and the couple that aren’t I called to inform. However, I did not want to make twenty or so phone calls, so I took the tacky route. Heh. Perhaps a generation ago, makin’ the phone calls instead of writing everyone would have been the tacky route. Communication be weird.

Didn’t go to the viewing, 70 was all backed up, so I got off in Middletown and came back home.
I guess I will be going to the funeral tomorrow. It’s at 1 pm so I should miss the morning rush hours traffic.

I sat outside with the brats for a long time to give them a chance to burn off some energy. My son said they behaved horribly while I was gone. Ripple tried to dig under the gate to follow me. I think I’ll take them to day care tomorrow, that way my son can get his school irk done without interruption. I think Firday when I go to the doctor I’ll make my son go with me and he can visit with his grandmother while I’m at the doctor’s.

well i raised some hell…apparently I needed to clear it with everyone when I gave cousin her walking papers which she will find out Monday when she reads the paper i printed out …
I dont get how its gonna ruin the holidays because she really doesn’t contribute anything to them anyhow and she cant be any worse than last week personally …But people are mad at me now…
I wasn’t going to even switch it over to my aunt at first but talking to the worker on the phone gave me the idea to have my aunt do it sos we have money for the bills and the sacred holidays …Yeesh, I can’t win ever …

Swampy, I’m sorry about Uncle Earl. I don’t have any aunts or uncles left either. My brothers died within 3 months of each other 6 years ago. It’s just me and my sister now.

butters, in the heat of the summer, the dog park is empty or nearly so during the hottest part of the day. You see pooches there in the morning and evening when it’s cooler.

The pupper and kitteh are adorable together peaches.

Moooom, the mess and time involvement for pierogi is why I only make them about once or twice a year and usually during the holidays up at Dad’s. As for both recipes, they are my German/Irish American born grandmother’s version after having her MIL pass down the recipe.

I’m sorry to hear about your uncle swampy. I’m down to an aunt by marriage on Dad’s side, an aunt, uncle and aunt by marriage on Mom’s.

Heathenated today. Our conference wrapped up well and I even was one of the hat passers (we literally do pass hats :stuck_out_tongue: ). It began to rain about the time I got off the freeway (Yay! After 31 days with no measurable precipitation) and has continued a gentle rain since (Yay! again, since the earth is too dry to take a deluge without flooding). I got the usual Sunday chores done, made a pot of tomato, ginger codfish stew for supper. Tis Yum!

Tomorrow, I have a PCP appointment in the morning and a dermatologist one in the afternoon. Go me!

Somebody give doggio a bone.

Evening all. The Golden Corral here is poorly managed, there were no glasses to get your drinks or trays to carry them at the start, many of the food items were low or out (no brownies!!), but the staff did make it up some by trying hard to help out (brought me my water and Coke and free refills). Watched some youth soccer just to get out of the house and later Nappage became sleepage (over 90 minutes is sleepage to me) and now just waiting for more sleepage.

swampy, I’m all out of cousins and aunts and uncles; pretty much only my brother and I. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Sari, the greatest secret that colleges get away with is that a certain percentage of professors are dumber than rocks. IMHO of course…

And they did give me a big 60-gallon container for recycling, but once a month is still not much–but hey, it’s Ali-bama…

peaches, love that picture.

All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Good tailgate, Canes win and so do teh Packers. Life is good.
