Well, yes, that is why I forwarded it to Dogbutt.
Elsewhere on the SDMB, I discovered that they send you a five thousand dollar check, and ask you to pay three thousand to the guys who install the stickers. Their check bounces, and yours goes through.
Worked, came home ,made chorizo tacos with yellow rice for dinner.
 : collapses onto fainting couc :
Flirting with the wife again?![]()
Evening all. The Great October Shopping Trek is done, only needed 3 stops to complete the list, but hauling everything into the house and then putting it away was a chore. Soccer practice was hot, but the Cheeseburgers I fixed afterward were pretty good.
Need to do some housework tomorrow and get the garbage can out to the curb pre-trash pickup.
ruble, have a good trip.
and that’s all I got for the evening. Take care all.
Yup, should be there on Sunday. I still have your phone #, it’s 202-456-1111, right?
Flytrap why don’t you call it & leave him threatening messages; I’m sure he’ll love it & laugh at them. ![]()

Spent more time in the car than at the game…& my fav player didn’t even play tonight (but I surprised & didn’t tell her I was coming). Dinner afterwards took waaaay longer to cook than it should have & they screwed it up, too, but since I wanted to get on the road back home it was acceptable. Had too much (water & soda) to drink & the rest stop was closed because of construction in front of the exit so I pulled over in the emergency stopping area because, well it was an emergency (with 40ish miles to the next rest stop). There’s your TMI for the night
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 97 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. TWPTB say next week’s highs will be in the 80s. We shall see. I don’t have much on today’s agenda which is fine by me. Sup shall be pot roast with carrots and N.O.T., baby lima beans, and rolls. I shall stick the hunk o’ beast in the slow cooker in a little while. I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon as well.
Have I mentioned that OYKW is retirin’ in January? He’s gettin’ all his ducks in a row with SS and should know sump’n from them soon as to when that will actually start for him. I say it won’t until March but maybe it will be February. Anywho, just glad he’s made that decision. He’s past sick of irk, poor thing.
Flyboy hope things go well with the toof doc.
Sari sorry about your great uncle. Ninety-five is a good run but still it’s sad when a relative dies.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
This morning, I was that driver - going down the road oblivious to the blue light on my dashboard, high beams blinding all oncoming vehicles. OOOPS!! :o
**swampy **- two old fart retirees in the same house at the same time all the time?? Sure, what could go wrong?
**FCD **and I are going to do something we haven’t done in years - we’re going to the Annapolis Sailboat Show next Saturday! The show is held over Columbus Day weekend every year, and when we were first married, we’d make the effort to drive up from FL for it. But we sold our last boat 8 years ago and we never really thought about the show after that. I got an email about Annapolis events in October, and there it was! We decided last night that we’d go, just for the heck of it.
Other than that, it’s my Firday at work, so huzzah! I’m ready for my weekend.
Happy Thursday!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Hockey and tailgating after work.
In 95 degree weather.
Morning all. Garbage has been collected and taken to the curb, it’s 77F at 8AM heading to 97F, but tomorrow is ‘only’ getting to 89F. Re-looked at my shopping list and didn’t get toothpaste or tape, so a trip over to Tar-get will occur this morning. Need to clean the kitchen, too.
FCM, enjoy the trip. Not a sailboat fan (never been on one) so I don’t understand the attraction, but sounds like you do. Hope it rekindles good memories.
Swampy, my congrats to OYKW on retirement. I think everybody knows when the time is, at least he is able to get out instead of having to keep working. I’m sure he’ll find something to keep him occupied in his life of leisure…
Everyone have a good Thorsday.
Sitting in the dentist’s office, waiting to be worked in. I thought I’d do some work, so I brought my computer. I connected to VPN, but Remote Desktop won’t connect.
Well, that was quick. I didn’t even finish the post before they brought me back. I’m in the chair, and they’re doing something with the crown. They gave me my computer to pass the time.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s chilly outside, maybe. It wasn’t so bad when I went to the park, but the temperature was dropping and by the time I left I was feeling cold.
Looks like the sun is coming out now, and is supposed to get up to 81.
I’m grumpy today, still mad at my son. I told him to go live with his grandmother because I have had enough. Ripple was being a total brat this morning, I don’t know what got into him. The only reason I took him to the park was to give the phone to Six’s dad, who didn’t show up.
The dogs woke me at 5, playing and making noise. I see a nap happening sometime today.
I didn’t get everything on the list done yesterday, so that will fill up part of today’s agenda.
Blurf Irking. I just had a nosebleed which is strange since I haven’t had one since I was a pup. I blew my nose and must have blown too hard. Anyway, at irk as usual. Nothing much to report. SSDD Blurf
Boss does air quotes when he talks about me retiring… or “retiring” - he still doesn’t believe it. They’ll see!!!
It’s been a semi-frantic morning, only because Ryan is going to be off this afternoon and all day tomorrow, and Brent wants to get some of his Ryan’s drawings out on the shop floor for manufacture. I managed to get all of the modifications done, so go me!
Baby Engineer wants to give me a bunch of stuff next week - nice to know I’ll be busy.
Meanwhile, lunch is just about over - I’ll have to dive back in.
Perhaps I’ll sign up and repeatedly cash his bouncing check. Maybe it will cost him money.
I got the crown glued back on. I stopped at Trader Joe’s on the way home and got a couple of Cobb salads. I don’t know if Mrs. L.A. will have one, but the extra one won’t go to waste! I got her some lobster ravioli and some spinach tortelloni. I got mixed nuts and smoked almonds for myself. And…
I bought a large pumpkin so I can make a jack-o-lantern. Only $2.99.
Howdy Y’all! I went out to the cee-mint pond for a while but am now inside in the cool. It’s HAWT out there! Also I scheduled the maintenance on the HVAC systems at the church house since it’s time for that.
MOOOOOOM you asked me about the boxed lasagna (don’t judge!). I call the frozen kind boxed lasagna (don’t judge!). Can’t say as I have ever seen it in a kit, like pizza. Loved those pizza kits as a cub, but now, ICK!
Blurf.
That is all. Please continue.
Tried to irk out in the yard, wasn’t too hot with the breeze blowing, but the bugs are awful. My yard wasn’t too bad, but my son didn’t bug spray the neighbor’s yard, even though I asked him too. I was getting too bit up and couldn’t stand it anymore.
At least the pups got worn out running around out there with us, so they are napping.
Getting ready for three hours of soccer practice. Temperature is about 98F. Oh joy.
Coolness is due come Sunday. I can’t wait.
Press on.
