Hey anyone have any experience in writing a letter to someone telling them there now jobless (aka their fired/dismissed?) I have to write one and I sort of have it written out but it’s clunky as hell and id like someone to proofread it …
Hey, rat I found a road trip for ya since ya lurves trains here ya go:
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and clear, with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today’s agenda includes the layin’ in of provisions, some [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden duties over to the church house, talkin’ to a couple of places to get quotes for replacin’ a HVAC system at the church house (either the exchange or the whole unit), and the makeage of sup which shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesy garlic bread. I think that shall be enough to keep me outta trouble for the day.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother, alas, and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. How I suffer!
**swampy **- when you refer to boxed lasagna, do you mean frozen or a kit?
**sari **- tell the truth - you’re trying to tick of your son so he’ll get his butt in gear and get on with his life, right?
It sounds like my decision to retire is well-timed. According to a coworker, after the first of the year, things are going to get slow here. Unless we get another contract… But that won’t be my problem.
Got an email from SS - my application is being processed in Denver. So yay for that. It should be plenty of time to get me in the system for January.
Meanwhile, more work on my desk, so I can be productive again today.
It’s already feeling muggy outside, supposed to be in the 90s today.
I may not do any yard irk as I planned, but I have plenty to do inside.
Got both pups off to daycare. Echo was getting passed around, I think she will be spoiled. She is so different from Ripple and Mackie that way. She loves it, Ripple and Mackie hated it.
Mooooommm I am so pissed at my son, and tired of his bullshit (I can’t believe I am saying this).
Red I love my new truck and I know I shouldn’t feel bad about buying it. Of course it did set me back a bit when I realized I paid more for this truck than I paid for my first house.
I overslept by a bit today. Not really a big deal as I took the morning off irk again so I can get some stuff done with no ‘helpers’ in the house. I ordered seat covers for the truck and they should come in today. I need to call the Maryland Exchange because they want some information and I have no idea how to give them what they want. I need to get a blood test. I need to meet up with some guy from the park. His cell phone was stolen and I have a bag of old phones from which he can choose. I like to keep one back up just in case something happens to the current phone, but I sure don’t need a bag of them. I forgot to take them with me Moonday, and then I left yesterday before he got there - and I forgot them again anyway. I have laundry to finish, the bathroom needs a good scrubbing, and the entire house needs a good vacuuming. The fridge needs cleaning out, there is a dead mouse in the trap and that needs to be disposed of. I’ll run the pet bowls through the dishwasher while they aren’t here to use them. I need to call about my glasses too, they should have come in by now. I forgot I need to clear my data out of the phone too. The desk needs to be taken upstairs and assembled, and I have a small mattress that needs to be converted into a dog bed.
Yep lots to do, but first a shower.
Blurfage Late for irk this morning as I didn’t want to get up. I need to make a grocery run as the cupboards are bare here. Lots of vendors to pay today. Blurfage
Sari, that’s quite a to-do list–suggest you write it out and cross off the jobs as you finish them, helps me not to forget them.
wet one, I’ll take some of that rain; entering 22 days since the last significant precipitation here.
shady, depends if the letter is impersonal (like swampy’s) excellent source) or something personal, which is a matter of style. Suggest you use swampy’s ideas, better to keep it that way.
And I looked at that site and I’ve been to 9 of the 36 places already.
flyboy, it sounds like a good idea may have gotten out-of-hand, IMHO. Exactly what does someone do to top that? (hookers and blow is so 90’s…)
Back in the 90’s today with Zero chance of rain–same old same old. Doing a load of laundry stuff and then will go grocery shopping. Raisin toast has been consumed.
Oh believe me MetalMouse - I have a list and there is more on it.
Taking a short break and then back at it. I do need to spray for bugs out back again while the dogs are at day care.
The spray is supposed to kill mosquitoes for 6 months, and I am getting eaten up again. I think my son didn’t spray up by the house. The neighbor’s patio is full of stuff and it all should be sprayed down. And I don’t care if any of it is stuff that shouldn’t get wet, it has been piled up out there for 5 years. If she hasn’t cared enough about any of it to put it away, then I’m not going to care either. While I don’t see any puddles of water over there, it is still a good breeding ground and hiding place for critters.
Her family shouldn’t have done to her what they did. The emptied out HER shed, piled it on the patio, moved the shed to my yard, and sold it with the house. I don’t want to give the shed back to her, it came with the house and while I don’t keep much in there, I do use it. But her family should have helped her go through the stuff and get rid of the junk and helped her store what she wanted to keep.
Sometimes I think about cleaning it all up and making it a nice place to sit out back, but I have enough to do keep up with my place.
Well, now I can add going to a funeral to my list for this week. My cousin called to let me know his father died last night. My uncle was in his mid 90s, so not a total surprise.
I also just got a call to remind me I go see my other doctor on Friday. So that means a drive down to the armpit.
I wonder if the doctor visit will be the same day as the funeral? I wonder if the funeral will be in the armpit?
Back to irk!
I won’t be giving the phone away today because the person who was supposed to text me when Six’s dad showed up didn’t go to the park this morning.
And now… just remembered Friday is the day my son is supposed to do his community service assignment for school. He is adamant he is NOT doing it and taking a 0 for the assignment. I feel strongly enough about it to tell him to go live with his grandmother then, because blowing off an assignment is simply unacceptable.
Just got off the phone with my mother. Kind of freaked her out because the uncle who died has the same name as her brother, so she thought I meant her brother. The uncle who died is actually her uncle and my great uncle.
Now that my son is up (and yes Spidey, little shit is Echo, not my son), he can keep an eye on the dishwasher while I run out to get a blood test and pick up the seat covers. I won’t leave the house while appliances are running.
Okay - changed doctor appointment to the following week. Takes that stress off of me.
We’re fully packed, the car is half packed and now all we have to do is wait for tomorrow morning. Although since tomorrow night is with kin and they know us, leaving early and showing up on the porch at 3am isn’t out of the question.
Spidey – any further thoughts on Sunday? Will check in later.
I had a molar replaced with an implant a decade or so ago. It just came off. (The stud’s still there.) I need to go to the dentist first thing in the morning.
I received a test message this evening:
“Would you allow us to paste small decal on your cars, trucks, bikes for short term advertisement and pay you 2 of 2 five hundred dollars ($500) per week for the rent?
Get this started now by replying YES.”
I responded, “Hell no, but I’m sure that Dogbutt would be delighted to. Here is his cell number. xxx-xxx-xxxx.”
You could send some of that rain south on I65. Day 28 in the Nashville area with no measurable precipitation.
 Johnny! I hope it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to get a new tooth.
Talked to Sis last night. She’s put her northward trek off for a couple of weeks. She got into a remodeling project that’s taking more time, materials and cash than originally planned. Fortunately, BIL is an electrician and she’s pretty handy, so most of the labor is covered. Moral of the story: beware of buying a house that the previous owner has done DIY work on (from personal experience, that goes for vehicles too).
Two more days of irk, then the big conference weekend. I will be taking Monday off for a doctor’s appointment, so’s it’s a three day weekend for me. Yay!
