What's that clickin' noise in the MMP

looking for car keys, putting on shoes

Any leftovers???

Lots!

I use Orrington Farm Broth Base & Seasoning - both for chicken and for beef. Very yum!!! More flavorful than bouillon and since it’s a powder, it’s easier to dissolve and mix.

I’ve used Jiffy Mix to make dumplings, but I’ll have to try the Cheddar Bay biscuits - that sounds amazing!! But not tonight, since we did chicken yesterday. Not sure what we’ll do today. I kinda want pizza.

I believe I know how to make pasta, it involves boiling water; however, I don’t believe I’ve ever worked at a place with a stove.
Do you have a stove there? Did they make it outside; using a grill as the heat source? Cooked in advance & served in crockpots? Is pasta something that stays well in a crockpot? I always thought that was better for something thinner/soupier than pasta.

Better than Buillon comes in a jar, and is a goop similar in texture to molasses. It ain’t cheap, but it is incredible. A mere spoonful will make chili, spaghetti sauce, chicken and dumplings, etc. taste like they have been simmering all day. I gave a bunch of jars as Christmas gifts last year, telling friends and loved ones “Now you don’t have to cook any more!”

Now I have Barry Manilow going through my head.

At the Buca
Buca di Beppo
Pinocchio lied to Geppetto
And his nose grew
A give-away clue…
He could put out someone’s eye
If he tells another lie
At the Buca…

Yes, the office space we’re renting has a full kitchen with a six-burner gas stove, two ovens, and two microwave ovens – plus a built-in dishwasher and a sink.

And the dirty dishes pile up in the sink until they scrape the ceiling, because the wimmin-folk will be DAMNED if they do KP at work.

There’s a sign up that reminds people to put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Mostly, people do.

But I want to know who leaves their reusable Keurig filter in the machine! We have several of those filters, but I take the one out that’s been in there overnight, and I can’t help emptying it and rinsing it out.

Pizza Hotline is making supper for the big people. Roxy is having leftover veggie-beef soup. Problem solved.

I just caught one typo I made. I hate it when I mistype. At least I corrected ‘DESERT’ to DESSERT’ from the menu.

No prob. I hosted in a chat room on AOL for years, and I speak fluent typo!

I was right, Ripple got to ride shotgun.
My son rode in the back.
That was more because of Echo though, she can hop over the console to the front seat and my son didn’t want to share the seat with her.

Groceries are in and mostly put away.
Dinner was potato wedges, which we always get on grocery day.

I’m irking extra hours tonight to make up for not irking this morning.

Everybody is sleeping but me. The pups are finally worn out. My son is being grumpy today so I told him to go to bed. I’m still pissed at him.

Spoke too soon, little shit just woke up and is trying to entice Ripple to play.

Home after a quick trip to the doggie park. Usually there are no other dogs there on the little dog side but today a lady showed up with a weenie dog mix named Bodie. That little dog wasn’t the least bit scared of Buddy even though he was barking and growling like a badass. He backed down once Bodie showed him who was boss. They did play a little though. It’s just so damn hot out. We didn’t stay too long.

Supper shall be whatever. I am not cooking. I am running on very little sleep and hope for an early bedtime. Gonna sleep with Mel.

That lunch sounds amazing Flyboy.

DH’s ortho office failed to return calls yesterday, so we went in person this morning. Got the needed meds and have been assured my paperwork for state Paid Family Leave claim was submitted. Took care of a couple of errands, am now goofing off for a while. Still need to do some cooking (MexiGoo and sausage burger patties are on the game plan so far) and tend the Princess’ litterbox.

It actually hit 100F here. On the first of freakin’ October. And the 27th day with no measurable rain. Oy!

sari, if you need/want the truck and are the one paying for it, anyone else be damned. The gas door must be a Chevy thing. The Malibu that I rented to come home in when I totaled the Toyota up in Indiana had one too. I had to google how to open it. Looks like Avis could have given me a heads up.

metal mouse, I’m not one of the counters. Our weekend cycle count crew counted this stuff, but I had to reconcile the inventory. That involves figuring out why it’s off. It tended to be a mix of receiving errors, transfer errors and consumption errors mostly.

I fought a valiant battle with Office365 Excel glitches today. Doing EoM and EoQ reports (and yes, I will still be doing them tomorrow because of this) has been an exercise in formulas not transferring, being unable to open anything exported from DAX to Excel and following up the emails that come when folks aren’t getting the reports expected. I’m glad to be home.

I will coordinate the stories and crafts for the heathen children for the weekend. We are hosting our national conference, so we have a bonfire on Saturday evening as well as the service Sunday. Pine cones will figure into Saturday’s story and they will construct apple and toothpick structure Sunday. Then eat their construction. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aaah; don’t think I’ve worked anywhere with anything more than two microwaves & a pop-up toaster, & a sink & dishwasher.

The little shit is Echo not Sahkid, right?

I hate when that happens.
Dinner was warm dogs & a wee bit of Cole’s Law. Home, cooked, changed, et, & out the door in ≈ 8 mins.

Back from soccer practice, we’re lucky my part of the field benefits from some shade so tried to keep a lot of the activities there. Have the baseball game on in the background, don’t really care who wins at this stage. Mac-n-Cheese was the usual 2Day dinner and it has been consumed and the dishwasher is working merrily away.

flyboy, that’s a lot better fare than the usual potluck I used to participate in at work. Don’t blame you for being stuffed.

Vow, nice recipe.

The Great October Grocery Stockup tomorrow morning.

Laundered, cleaned, napped. Making Chipolte BBQ chicken with smoked paprika N.O.T. wedges ,and green beans with Mexican oregano and red pepper flakes.

Cheddar bay Biscuits are da Bomb.

Better Than Bouillon is great. And it’s not expensive when you compare 1 spoonful vs. 1 cup of stock or broth.

“My phone’s otter corrupt is full of shirt”

We might be having Convention in Oak Park in 2021. Maybe we can run over Illinios Nazis as a side trip:D(My dad did work in the JC Penny’s where they did the car chase in The Blues Brothers).

Oh, it was!

After receiving the menus, we were led into the kitchen. The lights were off. The long table had been covered with a re-and-white checkered tablecloth. There were two or three wine bottle with lit candles in them. (And the candles were dripping onto the bottles, as they should.) There were full place-settings for everyone. The team served as waitstaff, and didn’t eat until everyone else had cleared out.

I think I inadvertently started this a couple of years ago, when I made jambalaya one Mardi Gras. (I make a pretty good jambalaya.) After that, someone decided to have ‘team lunches’. They started out pretty mundane; just a food theme. Then someone did a decoration theme to go along with the lunches. There was always a ‘competition’ to see which team made the best lunch, but there’s no prize; just bragging rights. The last few times, the lunches have become pretty elaborate. I don’t know how the next team will top today’s offering. I think I’m on the last team. The pressure might be on.
