What's that clickin' noise in the MMP

Daughter just texted from Prince Frederick - apparently they dropped kids off on the way back from Baltimore, so she’ll get to her car in about an hour and it’s about 15 minutes from her school to here. So yay! I’m almost Roxy’d out!

I got up at six-twenty of the clock this morning, and logged into work. It’s nearly nine hours later. I’ve had two pots of coffee (less a cup or so The Missus had), some hummus on a low-carb tortilla, and a handful of smoked almonds.

I think I’m getting a little hungry. I may log out of work soon.

Howdy Y’all! I did [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden duties, went to the Harvey’s Sto’, stopped at Dollah Genrul to get some vitamins(buy one get one free!), came back to da cave, had some quality cee-mint pond time, a short nap, and majik intartoobz pizza and sallit (from a bag, don’t judge!) got et. All in all a good day. Tomorrow we are goin’ to accomplish mowage in the mornin’, hopefully for the last time this year. Then again, I have mowed the week of Thanksgiving, so who knows.

I have to choose between the viewing on Sunday or the funeral on Moonday.
I’m not doing both.

I’ve put close to 500 miles on the truck in 2 weeks, that is a lot for me. After the viewing/funeral and doctor visit next week, I’ll be up to 1000.
Then I hope everything gets back to what counts as normal around here.

I’m hungry, but I’m too tired to go get something, too cheap to order something, and too lazy to cook.

The dogs have a whole basket of toys but they are fighting over one of them.

Guess I’d better figure out something to eat, I have to log in to irk in a half hour.

Yeah, I’ll probably throw together a sandwich or something.

I had some cheese and cashews.

No carbs, no cooking, but not very satisfying.

Evening all. Soccer has been coached (9-10-11 year old girls are a handful) and dinner (Lean Cuisine Fettuchini Alfredo) has been consumed. Need to work out my player lineups for tomorrow (so everybody plays the same amount of time) but can do that in the morning if I want to.

Swampy, my mowage has slowed due to the drought, the grass simply isn’t growing much without moisture (some is due this weekend). But expect to be trimming it into November unless we get a sudden freeze.

Now watching to see when the Southwest Chief pulls into LaPlata (I’m a Virtual Railfan) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_4RT0We1F8

All y’all take care.

Johnny, you have a couple of handsome kittehs there.

guru, those kind of lane changes is why I chose the trim package on my car. Blindside indicators rock!

Irked, knocked off around 1:30, shopped for groceries and came home. I took Nelson to the dog park and he had a ball hanging with the big dogs (and a chi named Nacho). Now it’s chill time.

metalmouse. Is there a schedule posted somewhere for arrivals of trains?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slugabed and did not get up until six forty-five! ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 (a cool down, BRRR!) and partly cloudy (partly N.O.S.?) for the day. As I stated yestiddy the big item on today’s agenda is mowage which shall get accomplished this mornin’. Probable quality cee-mint pond time to follow. Plenty of stuff for makin’ sammiches in da cave so that shall take care of any need to feed today.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

It’s a brisk 49° in my back yard, and probably much of the county. I woke stupid early, but I played some stupid games on my tablet before I dragged my carcass from under the covers. Critters have been tended to and I’ve breakfasted. It’s laundry day - YAY!! :

500 miles in 2 weeks was about my average when I still worked full time. Even now, I average over 200 per week - then again, everything is a bit of a trek. Round trip to the closest grocery store is 15 miles. And that’s why I have almost 170K miles on my 2012…

Apart from laundry, I think I’ll run the carpet cleaner in here - we’re got Roxy dribble spots all over the very light-colored carpeting. Tomorrow is leaf-mulcher/sucker day - first for this season. Yes, you may envy my exciting lifestyle!

Happy Saturday!

Butters, you can check this site for Amtrack trains: https://www.amtrak.com/track-your-train.html

Freight trains run on their own schedule and are a hit-and-miss. That’s why railfans are patient people…

Up 6:15am, but first kids soccer game isn’t until 9am, so have some time to fully awaken before heading out. Signed up to referee at 1:45pm, so I’ll be properly cooked (heading for 94F today) by tonight. Oh joy.

First load in the washer, plus I swept down the basement steps. Honestly, I don’t understand how there’s so much cat hair down there. As far as I know, the cats just go in to use their box at the top of the stairs, but I find litter and cat fluff all the way down. Idiot felines!

Supposed to be mostly cloudy today, so I don’t know how well my laundry will dry. Worst case, everything will get a short tumble in the dryer.

Up. Fed the dog and walked him. Now playing fetch.

I have some general cleaning to do today. And laundry of course and I need to cook a good meal. We haven’t had any veggies much in the last few days. We need veggies. And sloth.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, bed stripped, towels and sheets in the wash, puppy crate cleaned and fixing to do KP. I’ll be prepping the craft for the heathen children for tomorrow this afternoon (apple / toothpick construction), prep the dish for the non-fire (was to be a bonfire, but there’s a burn ban) this evening and make the bed once the sheets are out.

butters, it sounds like Buddy and Nelson might have fun playing together. Last night at the dog park, he had a ball chasing the dogs who chased the stick. :stuck_out_tongue: He would likely do the same with Buddy.

Happy Saturday!

It was a chilly 41 feels like 37 degrees at the park this morning. I was glad I found gloves in my coat pockets. I wish I had found a hat too.
However, the sun came out and it started warming up a bit, supposed to get up to 66 today.
We morning people have decided to start meeting at 8 instead of 7.

Slept with the windows open last night, it was a nice sleep. Warm under the blankets, cool outside of them. Both dogs were curled up next to me when I woke up.

I’ve decided on going to the viewing tomorrow instead of the funeral Moonday. Less stress that way, more leeway with the timing and no rush hour traffic on the way home.

Ripple won’t chase a ball or a stick, he will chase a dog who is chasing a ball or a stick.

Most of today will be spent irking. It’s been a slow week and I need a better paycheck.

Keto pancakes, sugar-free syrup, 2 bacon, and coffee for breakfast this morning. 2.13-mile walk, average 3.2 mph.

Worked, came home, napped. Going out to watch the game in a bit.

Laundry is in and stowed - thankfully, it was dry enough and breezy enough that the lack of sunshine didn’t seem to matter much. So yay! Meanwhile, I knitted and watched 3 more episodes of Poldark. Nothing quite like an 18th century soap opera!

Loved Poldark. New season just started last week.
