Ditto self-esteem. There are too many people running around feeling good about themselves when they shouldn’t. Studies have found that narcissism is on the rise in young people and that said narcissism is correlated with increasingly aggressive behavior. If you’re clinically depressed or have an eating disorder, chances are you have a real problem with self-esteem. But the average person does not need to make that a priority.
I specifically came in here to say I think wealth is way overrated. If you aren’t happy now, getting more money won’t fix it.
I don’t see how “going to the cinema” can be overrated, given how it’s so constantly bashed. If anything, it’s underrated, in that it’s not as bad as people sometimes make it out to be.
Or maybe it depends on where you live and how good cinema manners the people who live there have.
Personally I love my HDTV, I bought it several years ago and have never regretted it. I will actually watch golf or football just because the picture is so darn good. Also looks great with DVDs, games on my PS3, or the one Blu-Ray movie I own (waiting for prices to come down.)
As a ozone killing SUV driving Mama, I take exception to this. With the exception of the cost of gas and how it kills me to fill up a tank, dollar for dollar, my Suburban is the best freakin’ drive and all around vehicle out there. Pack 6-8 kids in, and their bags and coolers for a weekend and pull a trailer and drive 90mph on the highway. Can’t do that with a mini van.

Oh, I posted it in the picture thread we just had a couple weeks ago. You’re absolutely right, though- if you think sex is overrated, you have been doing it wrong, I’m sorry to say.
Okay, enough smugness. Sex is a two (or more, I guess) party thing and there’s a BUNCH of things that can affect how good or bad it is.
Claiming it’s bad ‘because your doing it wrong’ is, well, disingenuous. Differences in libido, motive, stress, medication, can affect how ‘good’ it is, all without calling technique into the mix.
Yes, the sex over here isn’t what it was. I’ve said I’ll take mental stability over wild monkey sex, and I do…but I miss wild monkey sex in my case, I’ll blame the meds for it.
The Beatles. I’ll never understand why everyone is so gaga over these guys. Each of them are/were mediocre (at best) musicians, and their songs are nothing to write home about. Many, many bands came along after them that are SOOOO much better…
