Imagine you wake up suddenly and find you are in a hospital bed – your last memory is of walking around in the parking lot at work or school. Worse, you realize that you don’t have a stitch of clothing on, and nobody has a clue where it all went. Wedding ring and tongue stud gone too. Everything gone.
What would be the replacement cost of it all?
Assume you have your regular stuff with you. If you usually carry a laptop, include that. If you sport a Prada bag, include that.
I was thinking about this as I purchased a new set of glasses the other day that came out to the absurd price of $500…
$2563. The watch and wedding ring are the big offenders. Glad I don’t wear my Rolex often. And I didn’t include the laptop I carry around (it’s from work anyway).

$2289.50 Round it up to $2300 if you count the jacket in fall/winter.
Hmm. This exercise makes me wonder if my denture is insured. If I didn’t have the cash on hand, that’s certainly something I’d want replaced pronto! Whaddya think? Fire, Theft, Loss & Collision?
No watch. No glasses. No dentures (although I doubt that would be stolen).

Wait - I forgot my sapphire ring. Gift from my mother. Probably worth about $250.
I wear contacts but if I had glasses that day: $300 (does it count if insurance covers part of it?)
Watch: $65 - except the style I wear is no longer made. So it could be more.
