What's the replacement cost of everything on your person on an average day?

Imagine you wake up suddenly and find you are in a hospital bed – your last memory is of walking around in the parking lot at work or school. Worse, you realize that you don’t have a stitch of clothing on, and nobody has a clue where it all went. Wedding ring and tongue stud gone too. Everything gone.

What would be the replacement cost of it all?
Assume you have your regular stuff with you. If you usually carry a laptop, include that. If you sport a Prada bag, include that.

I was thinking about this as I purchased a new set of glasses the other day that came out to the absurd price of $500…

For me:

Shoes: $70
Socks: $5
Skivvies: $3
Pants: $30
Shirt: $30
Belt: $30
Wedding band: $200
Omega wristwatch: $1500
annoyingly-expensive glasses: $500
A-2 reproduction jacket: $400
Treo: $300
Memory card for Treo: $50
Swiss memory knife: $70
Wallet (without contents): $25

Comes out to $3213. Even if the main offender, the watch, is omitted, it would still be over $1700 bucks.

That’s without even counting the problems resulting from losing the wallet contents.

Holy crap!

Glasses: $150
Watch: $60
Coat: $80
Shirt: $25
Pants: $25
Wallet: $10
Cell phone: $100
Keyring: $25
Socks: $5
Shoes: $40

$570, give or take.

Shoes: $70
Socks: $5
Skivvies: $3
Pants: $30
T-Shirt: $5
Sweater: $30
Belt: $15
Wedding band: $800
Oris wristwatch: $800
Glasses: $160
Banana Republic wool coat: $200
Isotoner Gloves: $20
Gap Scarf: $25
Wool Cap: $5
Smartphone: $250
Wallet (without contents): $15
2 Car Keys with chip: $100
1 Car Keyfob: $30

$2563. The watch and wedding ring are the big offenders. Glad I don’t wear my Rolex often. And I didn’t include the laptop I carry around (it’s from work anyway).

Sweater: $40
Undies: $15
Jeans: $20
Shoes: $35
Glasses: $160
Watch: $10
Rings: $750 (real WAG on those. The priciest would be my mom’s diamond-and-platinum wedding set, but they’d be irriplaceable, too)
Earrings: $15
Fossil bag: $75
Key case: $15
iPod: $150
Tracfone: $0 (I’d just wait until they ran another “get a reconditioned phone free” special)
Car key & remote: $65
Swiss army knife: $15

Comes to not quite $1,400.

No watch. No glasses. No dentures (although I doubt that would be stolen).
