The rescue workers guessed she is a Catahoula (Louisiana Leopard Cur) mix. Any other guesses?
I’d say almost certainly she’s Catahoula. Probably purebred.
I’m no expert, but I’d say that’s a “black and white floppy ears dog.”

Compare Captain, who’s supposed to be the boring-colored kind of Catahoula mix. Of course, he has a congenital case of “sad dog face” and the nose is a bit different.
Tracy is one snazzy-looking dog.
I would say Catahoula/Lab or maybe Rottweiler mix. She has a distinct heaviness and jowliness in her face.

Definitely Catahoula in there. We had one, her name was Rosie. She was very special, lost her a couple of years ago and I still miss her. I would say that this one has a slightly labby head so there must be something else in there. Enjoy her; I hope she is as wonderful as our Rosie was!
Awww! She’s so cute! She reminds me of Spot the Wonderpup, who was most likely a Dalmatian/Pointer mix, so I’m also voting that she has some German Shorthaired Pointer in there.
My personal bet is a great dane mix. The square-ish face and the earset remind me of a dane, probably a harlequin.

Thanks for the guesses and the kind words, everyone. She’s mine-- I adopted her about a n month ago. The animal rescue didn’t have too much info. She was a stray from Tracy, CA, now in SF. Still a little skitttish from city traffic.
I think mostly Catahoula. check her paws–does she have a bunch of webbing? If so, then she’s got a bunch of Catahoula in her. My “little” guy’s webbing makes my lab’s look normal.
I understand they’re bred less for coloring than hunting and herding smarts.
I adopted one one in February or so, and he looked like a red merle aussie shepherd. Nope. He’s pretty much "pure"bred Catahoula. Catahoulas also have extra long nails, so that’s a sign.

Does anyone’s Catahoula actually climb trees?

Hmm, Zsofia has a point about those nails. Does yours climb trees? If it’s the mentions of “treeing” racoons that you’re wondering about it usually just means they get and keep them in the tree while the hunter shoots them. But I bet mine could partially climb one if there was a squirrel involved.
My “little” guy is such a social dog, snuggle bunny and such a clown. I instantly forget how evil he is when he gives me the dumb dog look and his ears waggle. That and the puppy breath…
