What's your earworm *right now*?

Right now? It’s an old jingle advertising “My Three Sons” on Nick at Nite.

(Sung to the tune of the My Three Sons theme song)

*It’s My Three Sons
Yes My Three Sons
It’s My Three Sons
On Nick at Nite.

They’ve got a dad
His name is Steve
He’s got a job
He’s really tall

And then there’s Bub
He cooks them food
They’ve got a dog
It’s My Three Sons
On Nick at Nite.*

Twenty years later and I can remember that.

“Lifeline” by Mat Kearney.

Autumn Leaves, Hank Garland’s version. I’m learning to play it, and Hank’s version gets stuck in my head every time I work on the song (which has been episodic, as me and my guitar teacher explore other music along the way (last week it was the Byzantine scale, after I’d heard to some sitar pieces and asked about the scale being used), but dammit I want to finish this piece).

I’ve got three really weird earwoms cycling through the past few days.

I’ll wake up hearing Epica - Fools of Damnation in my head. I suppose it’s my morning prayer.

At some point while going about my day, I’ll start hearing E.S. Posthumus - Ebla, which makes pretty much whatever mundane task in which I’m engaged seem like an epic undertaking (slow-mo snap-zoom laundry folding, aww yeah).

After the sun sets, I’ll get Faultline’s cover of Greenfields with R.E.M.'s Michael Stipes on vocals, which is just plain spooky.

“I’ll Never Tell” from Buffy’s musical episode.

Dance your cares away
(clap, clap)
Worries for another day-ay
Let the music play
(clap, clap)
Down in Fraggle Rock

“Freak Like Me”—Sugababes

“Beast of Burden”. For days now.
It was playing in a store.

Kill me now.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT MY POTATO?

I have one, but it’s not something anyone else would know. I’m learning to play guitar and I have been working on a solo that basically consists of a series of exercise riffs from my lessons strung together. Each riff was written to teach a specific technique, and they’re not passages from any real songs. Anyway, that’s been stuck in my head for a few days now.

Scott Joplin: “The Cascades”

The season 4 opening song to Case Closed. I am going to start throwing things if I don’t get this song out of my head. It’s been stuck there for over a week now and nothing has managed to dislodge it. It’s even interfering with my sleep because it wont SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien

Although I had heard it previously in the Edith Piaf movie, it resurfaced as an earworm after seeing Inception. Although, disappointingly, it makes only a scant brief appearance on the OST. I especially love the way that the film repeats the main motifs, but much slower, turning the brassy horns into foghorns…

“Concrete and Clay” by Unit 4 plus 6 or whatever the hell that band’s name is.

Heard it two weekends ago in a McDonald’s and it popped back in while I was reading this thread.

“9th Wonder (Blackitolism)” - Digable Planets

Monty Python’s “The Lumberjack Song”. My 15-year old son started singing it in Walmart yesterday, and* it won’t go away.*

“Miss Otis Regrets”, the jazzed-up Bette Midler version.

Welp, I’ve got a new one now!

“I Don Quixote”, from Man of La Mancha, the version with Placido Domingo and Mandy Patinkin.

Boogie Oogie.

GAH!
