Ok…how many dopers are from the MO are?
How many of those are from the St.LOuis Metropolis area?
And How many Dopers attend UMSL?
I’m from the KC area… but living in Vegas currently.
There are several people here from MO however.
I huddle in the safe seclusion that is the Kansas side of KC. Them Misoranarians scare me somethin awful.
Yeah…you better be scared boy-o…or will unleash the god awfull forces of the Bible Belt…that is Souther Missoura…the devils minions have no mercy for the week Kansas folk.
You quote Nietzsche in your sig and then you write a sentence like that. I hope to God you’re making fun of the Southern pronunciation of Missouri and not spreading the idea that’s how the name of the state is pronounced.
No self-respecting St Louisan says Missoura.
BTW, I live in North St Louis County; in Hazelwood.
Yeah…of course i’m joshin…it’s fun to say Missoura…and warsh. Hello hello Northern Country-er…i’m a West County kid, Ballwin 4 eva!
West County, huh? Yeah, I remember back in high school we used to go the West County a lot and beat up those rich-kid pansies. It was fun hearing them scream like 8 year old girls and shout “Not in the face!”
Ah, good times, good times.
Are you one of those HORRIBLE DRIVING Johnson countiers? L
Oh, there’s also a poster named Homer around here somewhere, I think he’s from the MO side of KC. He may or may not show up, it depends how many hits of acid he took or how drunk he got and what time the monkey butlers wake him.
Skwerl is another West County kid…we’re everywhere…bwahaha.
Southwestern Missourian checking in!
I’m about an hour’s drive west of Springfield, somewhere in the Ozarks. I’d thump a bible, if I could find one in this messy house right now…;)!
Of course not, I’m the best driver in the world. It’s all them other freaks, what screws up the roadways!
In fact, it’s probably Missourians who are causing accidents in the first place. Look, if MO paid more than $1.99 to fix the roads, people wouldn’t have to come across the border to drive on our roads. And our one lane roads are bigger than Ward Parkway’s three.
Ah screw it. I’m not having this thing get thrown into great debates.
My cat’s breath smells like cat food.

They have to be because you all don’t even check your mirror before changing lanes… might interfere with the cell phone conversation or the makeup application.
The doctor says my nose wouldn’t bleed so much if I’d just keep my finger out’a there!!
I graduated from High School in St. Joseph, then got a degree from UMR. I’m living in the UK now. Any other Miners out there?
I went to high school in Fenton (south St. Louis county) but since then I have moved to NC. I was almost a Miner, a few good friends of mine are.

Hey! I use to live in Springfield…a nice place to live, but I wouldn’t want to visit there. Pound for pound, some of the nicest people I’ve ever known hail from there, but damn, there ain’t nothing to do ('cept visit Silver Dollar City in Branson, which, if you’ve been there once, you’re done for the year). Still, since there isn’t anything to do, we use to hang out and talk, actually get to know one another. Here in Southern California, there are are so many pretty trappings, everyone seems to get distracted so easily. I kinda miss the days where we’d just sit around in the cornfields and just chat the night away.
BTW, the secret is out: Missouri chicks are babes!
I spent 18 years living in St. Charles County. We used to like to go scare the West County kids too. Gosh, that was the fun days. (Of course, it didn’t take much. The right clothes and a punk hairstyle would send them running for cover.) I had to quit that when I went away to college. There were a lot of those West County people going to school in Springfield.
Then I spent about a decade around Springfield. We never had any trouble finding things to do. My boyfriend went to a private school even though he was a poor kid from St. Chuck Mo County. He got in a clique with the other poor kids and we always had something interesting going on. That was the old days before they built the Juanita K. Hammons Opera House for Snobs and people could actually afford a ticket to shows and concerts. By then we had bought a fixer-upper and then we never lacked for anything to do until we got rid of it.
Then we moved to another place still in Southwest MO. It was a wonderful place to raise children, but a horrible place to get a new job when the company you worked for started sucking.
And so that’s how we ended up in the KC area. I miss little things about the Ozarks like people smiling for no particular reason when they greet you, finding a clean place to sit when you go into a fast food restaurant, stuff like that. It was very cool going to rock concerts this summer though.
I grew up in St. Louis (as did my mother, father and both sets of grandparents) and I lived there for 32 years before moving to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico then sucky Southern California (where I am now). I’m also an UMSL alumnus.
I MISS THE MIDWEST! (Especially weekend trips to Lake of the Ozarks.)
Sigh I’m so homesick.
I’m in Chicago now, but used to live in Lafayette Square on Park St. Still go back to St. Louis to visit quite often. Is there a MO dopefest in the mix somewhere?

I tried a while back to organize something and got absolutely big fat ZERO replies.
