The president-elect was indignant about all the kids who went to school and got their gender reassigned against their will, and without the consent of their parents. He even made it part of his routine, and acted out the part of the alarmed parent. Why aren’t him and his surrogates asked to provide victims, or even cites? This would be some pretty horrific shit if it was true, but it isn’t of course. Why is there never any follow up? This bullshit, and the prisons being empties out nonsense affected the vote because too many people believed the outrageous things he said because there was never any meaningful pushback.
I’m a little surprised nobody took the opportunity to brag about American healthcare wherein heretofore major surgery can be performed as basically an outpatient procedure.
Looking for logic and consistency in fantasy propaganda is kinda silly.
As to pushback there was plenty. Just none covered by the RW propaganda channels that would inform their closed audiences that they’d been lied to.
I heard no pushback. Bemusement if anything. All those lies just wash over, and those few times when he was asked even the lamest of questions about anything, he just got hostile and changed the subject.
‘If the Democrats had just repealed Brandolini’s law the Trumpists wouldn’t have been able to get away with it!’
~ Coming soon from yet another brain dead political commentator without a single clue how reality actually works
OMG, you’ve caught Trump in a lie! Now, finally, the voting majority will finally see through this campaign!
All those kids are hanging around with the post-birth aborted babies and the half-eaten pets in Ohio.
Such a waste of perfectly good pizza toppings!
Haha! Now you’re talking my Q-language!
The claim was that they were gender-reassigned without their parents’ knowledge/consent, and that minors were sent for sex-change surgery from school.
Hadn’t heard the allegation that kids were reassigned against their will. What Trump et al were actually claiming was at least as insane, though.
I thought that in one of the scenarios the kid came home and said something like “Mommy, what happened?” My point is that him and his surrogates should be hounded about this kind of shit until they’re sick of it.
Trump has proven, now twice, that the truth just doesn’t matter to a lot of people, and while that may shock you, these same people also thought twice that Trump would make a competent world leader. If you happen to think truth matters, and that we should elect competent leaders, you are in the minority, and may be for a very long time. You either have to learn to deal with it the best you can, or find someplace better to live, assuming you can.
They were deported.
Deported, nuthin’ – they were subsumed into that caravan of brown people that invaded us some five years ago. There were, what, 10,000 of them and they’ve been roaming the country since then like a plague of locusts. They were the ones eating pets in Springfield, not those innocent Haitians.
A little context please? We don’t got nothin.
Was golfing yesterday with a friend, whom I knew voted for Trump. (I posted about hime previously in another thread, when I tried to understand his reasons.). He brought up the election. I won’t relate our entire conversation (which lasted about 1/2 of one par 4), but at one point he said something about being tired of hearing about a 2d grad boy going to school and being told, “You’re a girl.”
Just really amazing to realize that ostensibly intelligent people believe this is an actual thing, not to mention that it is significant enough to cite as support for voting for Trump.
If he was tired of hearing about it, all he had/has to do is turn off Faux “News”. We could have avoided all this fascist nonsense if only people could / would turn off their TV.
See also my recent comment in another thread:
To be fair, second-grade boys being told “You’re a girl” has been pretty common for decades. It’s a childish playground taunt from other second-grade boys, not evidence of mass surgeries by the schools.
True, but that’s also not what the guy was talking about. And only serves to camouflage the deep-seated wrongness in what the propagandists have been pushing.
The last time I went to my state-level union annual meeting, I sat next to a teacher who, at one point, leaned over to me, and told me about a school in a neighboring county where there were litter boxes in bathrooms for students who identified as cats. I told her it was a transphobic myth, but she insisted that it was true until I pointed out the Smartphone Effect (i.e., that no litterbox in a bathroom would go unphotographed in a world full of teens with smartphones), and even then I think she might have backed down because I was so irritated about the whole thing.
Since that conversation I have had multiple conversations with people on a Facebook group of teachers where people repeated the myth as if it were unvarnished fact, sometimes even citing the specific counties where these litterboxes supposedly occurred.
Shit like this is why I’m not convinced that the left can get more votes by throwing trans folk under the bus. The beliefs the right has about trans folk are completely untethered to reality.
Lemme tweak that for you:
Shit like this is why I’m not convinced that the left can get more votes by
throwing trans folk under the busdoing anything differently. The beliefs the right has abouttrans folkeverything are completely untethered to reality.
The Left will be able to accomplish nothing in the face of the false propaganda firehose. First we turn that off, somehow. Then we can start taking the country back from the fantasists.
