Where can I get a bust of Poe?

It’s that old problem… The hamsters are senile and have forgotten to post the OP.

So… Where can I get a bust of Edgar Allan Poe?

Look under the nearest raven.

The Edgar Allan Poe Museum here in Richmond may be able to direct you. The telephone number is 804-648-5523.

You could try calling these people. They don’t have Poe on their site, but they could probably find him for you.

Thanks, SpoilerVirgin. I’ve left them a message.

plnnr: I’ll have to get one of the Museum’s Poe T-shirts!

Poe? Don’t you want a bust of Athena, instead? And no, you can’t have mine.

SpoilerVirgin linked site has a “bust of Pallas”. But I’d really like a bust of Poe.

Here’s the Poe Museum’s web site. They don’t list a bust, but you can get a Poe plush doll, or a raven puppet.

They’ve got some cool t-shirts too…

Eric

No busts? Like, nevermore?

Just write a fantastic suspense novel and win a Mystery Writers of America “Edgar”. You will receive a ceramic bust of Poe.

Bronx Community College has one. Jekyll & Hyde have a talking one. Maybe they can give you a clue.

Maybe periodically check ebay…

OK. 1 for the road! Maybe go down to Tijuana where they have those ceramic figurines for sale. You know the ones. Some are painted. Bring a photo of Poe. See if you can convince them to make one for you! Tell them that many tourists would love to buy them!

My first thought? Check Teletubbies.com.

Try these folks - they don’t have one right now, but they might be able to find one:

don’t ask: Heh. If I could write, I wouldn’t be writing Easytrieve programs and crunching out JCL! (Yeah, those awards are what I turned up when I did a search.)

Mr. Cynical: Huh? (The penny drops, the gumball rolls out.) Ah. Wrong person.

cybersnark and Santos L Halper: Thanks. Already checked those.

Who would have thought that a bust of one of the greatest writers of all time would be so hard to find?

It’s a little pricey, but here you go…

Eric

Definitely cheaper across the border… :stuck_out_tongue:

Last month I e-mailed Levenger, as they have a bust of Jefferson and one of Shakespeare. I told them they needed to add Poe to their offerings.

Well, I got a reply saying they are working on it. A couple of days ago I got an e-mail saying that the clay model was complete and they are ready to cast, and would I be interested? the price is $9,500.00.

Hey, I’m not looking for a one-off objet d’art; I’m just looking for a little bust of Poe that I can look at! I mean, I’d pay 1/100 of their asking price for a really good mass-market one, but nine and a half kilobucks? Negative.

In other words, reaching back to my tenuous Scottish ancestry, “Och! I canna stand th’ rape o’ me purse!”

No kidding. I saw a bust of Poe right next to an Elvis bust in Niagra Fall (the Canadian side of course) a few months ago. It was about a foot tall and painted to look like bronze. I did notice more people were interested in the Elvis so it is probably still there!

It’s odd where googling “busts of poe” will take you.

At last, push-up bras for big busts
