Well today was a day of ups and downs in several ways. We went to our favorite dive diner for breakfast, the OW did some shopping, I got a lot of odd little things around the house done, we made arrangements with the local toy drive to drop off the bicycle we got them ------- and as we pulled out from the house to do that I got the low tire pressure light. I pulled around to the garage, heard a hiss, found the nail and called the tire store. They were closing so I left the car across the garage (which is now full of cannon as you may recall) and we’ll deal with it in the AM. I may run up the pressure (its nice having your own personal serious compressor) and risk the 8 miles or I may struggle (probably in rain) with the spare since at the garage I know I have the pressure to run it up if its low. At least I’ll check its pressure before I leave. My compressor is a 3hp/300# psi with a big tank so ----------- all in all not a big problem either way. Nicer here than along the road.
May have to consider shopping for a trunk-model- compressor tomorrow if anyone has any suggestions.
I suspect either residue from the semi-neighbor-flipper-guy and all his work as this is the same tire as last time and closest to the project-next-door house and curb. I’m not going to fuss at him but I am thinking about doing regular magnet sweeps any time I see the rubble trailer outside.
OMG - I haven’t thought of Jo Anne Worley in a short eternity!
It’s nearly 60° outside at the moment, and very windy. And the back deck is now completely covered in leaves, dammit! I’ll have to clear it later today, methinks.
I woke just before 4, and I lay in bed reading till a bit after 5. Critters have been tended to and here I sit, waiting for spousal unit to wake up so we can shower and go to breakfast.
For some strange reason, our cable company keeps sending us paper bills, even tho we’re on auto-pay and paperless option. I just got another yesterday, and at the bottom of the statement, it mentioned that they’ll be adding a local independent station at channel 15 that “offers a mix of family and children’s prog ramming” I don’t know about you, but I don’t think it’s appropriate for children to watch progs being rammed!!!
Yes, I’m easily amused this morning. Happy Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Actually been up a while as, like MOOOOOOM I’ve been up since five a.m. Then again I was asleep shortly after nine last night. Anywho, 'tis 53 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 62 and partly N.O.S. for the day. It may or may not rain. TWPTB are at odds on the rain so it seems. However, it looks like any rain will be east of us. Today’s plan is to deheathenate and not much else beyond leftover lasagna for N.O.L.
Prog ramming sounds dirty!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. At some point purtification for deheathenization must also occur.
The temp has dropped at least 8° since I let the dog out around 5. Still very windy. brrrrrrrr!
We breakfasted, then stopped at Lowe’s for a couple of doorknobs that Taz won’t be able to open - these will go on the 2 extra bedrooms. Once we got home, I scrubbed the greasy drips on the front porch from when I took the turkey out of the smoker. And I rolled the smoker into the garage - cleaning shall occur eventually.
Shortly, I’ll head back to the guest room and make it guest-able. Good times…
& know we know the answer.
Home from the marathon; didn’t do breakfast this year. I was gonna make some eggies but then remembered there was a leftover snausage. ::Burp::
Now what else to eat?
We have deheathenated and have had N.O.L. I took steaks outta da freezer. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house thus steaks need to thaw so as they can be marinated. Tomorrow mornin’ I shall head over to the church house to help make and then deliver Turkey Day baskets. We picked a name off the givin’ tree this mornin’. We chose a seven year old boy who wants toy trucks. How could one resist that!
Chillage ensues and nappage shall occur shortly. YAWN
Well, the guest room is now ready, right down to clean sheets on the bed. I helped **FCD **change the doorknobs on the two rooms they’ll be using - Taz can no longer open the doors, so they don’t have to stay locked. I moved a bunch of books into one of the new book shelves. I vacuumed, including removing dog hair from both bathrooms. And I emptied the dishwasher.
I crocheted and watched Mean Girls - never saw it before, and it wasn’t terrible. I gave **FCD **a haircut and ironed 3 of his shirts. I made gravy - it’s kinda weird since I used smoky drippings. We shall see whether it gets better with time.
I just finished an egg-n-cheese sammich. And I think the rest of the night will include much chillage. And some ice cream.
Well we got the tire replaced, got some new clothes at the Thrift Shop (literally – still had the tangs on them), and a nice late breakfast and all that was by noon. After that we got productive and cleaned the garden out, got the Sportie ready for winter riding, did multiple laundry loads and home-made some thin chicken chili-ish soup-ish stuff for dinner. I do have to report for jury duty and will probably get seated since civil division is swamped — the Holidays and everything. The OW is taking the week off so even more will be getting done than normal. Probably. Unless we get tired of the cold and everything and basically I just go to Da Jungle and we both veg out other than that. Thanksgiving will be traditional ------- for us. Going with a couple friends; this year instead of Indian (dot, not feather) its going to be Mexican. Just because we can.
Dinner is consumed, gotta clean up, put away the rest of the (non-perishable) groceries. How did I spend so much at the grocery sto & not even get stuff for the Thanksgiving meal(s)? - most of that will be acquired on Tues, with the rest on Firday. Laundry, irk, & SNF (football), all before passing out because of early morning.
Well, soccer (the outdoor variety at least) is done for the Fall. Refereed three more games this afternoon, giving me 6 for the weekend, and I expect to spend Moanday…moaning. Still, no controversy or issues, so that was good.
Heading out Wednesday to visit Brother up near Saint Louis for T-Day.
Aunt and Uncle visit went well. I am now relaxing before Monday attacks. I think we’ll be spending Turkey Day right here. I accomplished very little today.
I was sluggish most of the day. We beer canned a chicken on the new grill. Twas good. Butter beans, sweet NOT’s and rice and gravy were accoutrements.
I am having second thoughts about my trip to Jawja. Am supposed to hear from Insurance lady about when and where to get the MRI STAT. Dr. Wanted it as soon as possible since I just finished a round of antibiotics. He thinks I have polyps which will require surgery. Just as I thought. Either that or something worse. So, if I hear from coordinator that mri can happen either Tuesday or Wed then I may not go to Jawja. I did buy insurance so maybe it will not be a total loss.
I will have disappointed family but my health must come first. They will umderstand. The road runs in both directions.
Why am I so unsure about this trip for some reason? Really have a gut feeling I should not go.
