Where did the year go in the MMP???

Still coughing and a bit congested, but recoverng from the current round of kennel cough at irk.

DH got hit with a temporary layoff today. Worst case, he’ll be back to the day labor thing until early January. Said day labor service likes him a lot and seem eager to keep him as busy as they can, so a good chance that we’ll just get a painful but survivable drop in income for a couple of months. I still didn’t need the stress.

Sorry to hear that Nettie. I hope it works out.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 77 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall open up da cave this afternoon to let in some fresh air. No biggie plans for the day except for goin’ to a friend’s house for lasagna this evenin’. His bro and sil are down for a visit and she makes a killer lasagna so we’re lookin’ forward to that. OYKW said sump’n about a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek: so that may happen as well.

red hope the sinuses are feelin’ better today. It’s always a shock when one realizes one has become the adult in charge.

Nettie sorry about DH’s layoff. Hope he’s back soonest.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, we shall see what the day holds forth.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Sorry, Nettie. Hope it’s mot too long of a layoff.

**Nettie **- sometimes life sucks. Best to you and yours while your life un-suckifies!

Up - well I’ve been up, but I was reading in bed. I definitely like e-books - I can read my tablet and not disturb **FCD **(who is still abed.)

Our long-absent founder, RueDeDay, had a FB post yesterday where he asked if lasagne is considered to be a casserole or not. Opinions varied, and I declared that it was its own category. But it seems more casserole-ish than any other category one could name. Mysteries of life.

It’s in the 30s and quite windy already. I’m glad we did the leaves yesterday. Today’s plans include readying the guest room for daughter and SIL who arrive on Tuesday. Guess I can’t put it off any longer. There are 2 big plastic bins of sheets and towels that will go to the basement, another large pile of sheets and towels that will go to the thrift store, or maybe the local women’s shelter, and a table that needs to be removed. We have plans for the table - today we must execute them. And I need to put fresh sheets on the bed.

Plus today is turkey smokeage day. But that’s just work at the start and finish. In between, it just sits there and smokes - like an old trailer park resident sitting on the front steps. Oh, how poetical!!

Happy Day of Satur!!

I hope hubs finds something soon nettie.

Blurf!

I was supposed to go to lunch and a movie today with SIL, but I think I’ll beg off and hole up at home instead. I am beginning to feel a little better, but don’t want to take this crud up north with me.

The table didn’t do it!

It’s innocent!

It was framed…

…by the picture. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, Spidey, how you entertain me!

Last load in the washer. We’re eating leftover Chinese for lunch. Smokeage continues. Life is good.

Hubby stayed up very late watching some horror series from Netflix on the tube. I am watching the dogs play and drinking coffee.

I want to take the dogs for walk, but we have something close to freezing fog at the moment, so I may postpone. I am a weakling.

77 degrees here in Central Arkansas, that is 25 C.

Your dogs drink coffee while playing?!?!?

Yeah, I know.

After the next load of laundry is done, I’m going to head to Food Lion for a few items. Great excitement ahead.

It is the caffeine. Makes them jump up and down.

It’s a good day! I heard from a non-scammer and I’ve sold my bedroom furniture. YAY!

So, you have sleeping bags, or futons? :dubious:

Well, my living room is clear of soccer balls and bags, they were all turned in this morning. Then went down the road about 25 miles and refereed three soccer games (all on the sidelines as a “assistant ref”), and all of them were close, 3-2, 1-0 and 1-0. Cool (60’s) and high winds that threatened to tear several canopies out of their moorings. And a girl being treated for a possible concussion. So all in all a busy morning-afternoon.

Home and fed and awaiting the T-storms that have been predicted for days. NWS shows them crossing the Mississippi-Alabama border (immigrant!) and they should be here in 90 minutes or so.

Three more games tomorrow. The bonus is I get to eat Dinner afterword at Huddle House.

Nettie, hope DH’s layoff is very temporary.

**Flytrap **- we still have the bed, since we’ve got company next week, but then the bed goes. Daughter and SIL are bringing their own bedroom furniture, so the room will be empty for them.

The futon in the other bedroom will be disassembled and shoved in the attic when that room becomes a nursery. So, no, you can’t come stay with us. :stuck_out_tongue:

The turkey has been carved and bagged - white in one bag, dark in the other, both now in the freezer. When I get to Mom’s, I’ll dump them in a dish to warm - in fact, I’ll take one from home, because I’m nice, dammit!

We’ve had supper and the dishwasher is sloshing away. Afghaning shall ensue. It was a good day.

I got all of the laundry done that needs to be done before leaving. Then I took a nap. Cold rain was predicted for all day, but it waited until I got into the car to go pick up takeout Thai that it began. It started as a light sprinkle and about 3 miles away became a deluge with poor visibility. I made it back home with some good soup and dumplings nonetheless.

Awww, Flytrap, you can stay at our place.
The address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Wash DC. However, you probably can’t get in the gate so just hop the fence when you get there & someone will come out to take you in
Went to the expo & the snausage stand at the biiiiggg farmer’s market. Ordered my (turkey) snausages for (post-)Thanksgiving jambalaya & brought some home for dinner tonight, lamb merquez & chicken sumpin-or-udder. I’s stuffed.

Hazta get up super-early to give water (& Gatorade) to the thirsty.
(I’m running one of the marathon water stops)

We are back from feastin’ on homemade lasagna, sallit, garlic bread and homemade lemon icebox pie. YUM! Plus Jackie (the lasagna maker) sent us home with lasagna for tomorrow’s N.O.L. After deheathenization we shall stop by the sto’ for bag sallit and bread suitable for garlic bread. Harvey’s is the sto’ closest to the church house and en route to da cave so that’s where we shall shop. So easy, peasy N.O.L. tomorrow!
