I’ve travelled a little bit within the states, not much, but would have to agree that California has the largest collection of beautiful people. But, the most beautiful person I know lives in PA, and she kind of overshadows all the rest…
In my experience: Copenhagen, Denmark. Was there for a short time but I became convinced that there is some sort of eugenics program-- like they throw ugly babies out in a gunny sack or you need a licence to go out and walk around in the streets or something, because everyone I saw was gorgeous-- men and women. I would actually stop and stare and almost turn around and follow some of them, and I’m not like that. I think living in Copenhagen would awaken some latent stalking urge in me.
Here in Central California, there are a lot of seriously unsightly people. Other areas, like the Sacramento, L.A., and San Diego areas have lots of babes…
I will have to agree with Osip, the most beautiful people are from Europe (with one exception in California, my fiancée), but Osip wasn’t specific enough as to the country, which is of course Switzerland. pulykamell, you’ve obviously never been to Switzerland.
And I can state this with authority, since I currently live in the suburbs of Los Angeles, and as SwimmingRiddles said, “This is LA. The top 1% of beautiful babies come HERE, man!”
But on the internet? The most attractive people are right here on this board.
However, in the facts department, we should mention Venezuela, the “Beauty Queen Factory of the World.”
Over the last 20 years, Venezuelan women have held crowns in 10 top international pageants, a record unmatched anywhere. Four of the last 18 Miss Universes were from
Venezuela. Twice, women from this nation of 20 million won Miss Universe and Miss World simultaneously, in 1996 and in 1981, an unparalleled feat.
I’m sure Venezuelan women are lovely, but the beauty queen thing–well, there is a more mundane explanation for that.
Producing beauty queens has become a national industry. Little girls are encouraged to aspire to be beauty queens. Therefore, a greater percentage of “likely” girls pursue this goal.
There are whole schools devoted to teaching young women the ins and outs of the beauty pageant world. they teach them how to walk, how to smile, etc. Huge numbers of young women go to these schools. Therefore, the most beauty-queen-ish ones get spotted and put into the beauty pageant pipeline.
So, in Venezuela, more women with Miss World potential get started in the pageant buisness than in the U.S.
Also, in Venezuela, there is less stigma attached to plastic surgery. They take those beautiful young women and fix 'em up. So, if a woman seems to have potential, she gets implants, liposuction, a nose job, and all sorts of other weird things, like forehead reductions. Of course, people in the U.S. do this as well, but it is not so prevalent, and it is not so encouraged.
So you get more girls with potential in the process, and they get more “help” along the way. It works out to more Venezuelan beauty queens.
Plus, Latinas seem to have a genetic gift for walking in heels without looking like trucks.
If you watch enough Univision like I do, you eventually figure out that a lot of the world’s most beautiful women seem to live in Spanish-language television studios.
But then, for some reason, a lot of the corresponding male Univision co-hosts seem to look like the Pillsbury Dough-Boy wearing one of the Texas Chainsaw Killer’s skin suits. Weird…
