Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Unexpected day off. I shall clean, watch sports, and pour lava and boiling acid onbathe Gordie today.
Don’t be a brat.
Prime members should get free drone sausages on February 2nd. It is Ground Hog Day, after all.
Sunny, I bought a cheap set of clippers when the Pandemic hit. Why pay somebody $15+tip to run a #5 guard over my cranium 3 times a year, when I can do it myself for $17+tax total.
It’s freezing today and gloriously mundane. I’m about to go to a spin class. Haven’t been since before my own little world came down, and I’ve never done a full spin class in a mask. This may not be pretty. Hopefully I’ll still be walking normally when I’m done.
The last few years of closures haven’t affected my hair-cutting regime at all, seeing as I haven’t cut it at all this century. It’s about long enough to sit on, but it hasn’t got any longer in a few decades.
I keep wondering if maybe I should start cutting it short, but the problem is one has to keep on doing it, or the dratted stuff just gets long again anyway. We’ve kind of come to an agreement- I don’t bother it, it doesn’t bother me.
Then again, there are those that say if you have good variety in your diet, all a multi-vitamin gives you is expensive pee. I used to take one, then I stopped, and I didn’t notice any difference. But my mom swears by them. Maybe it depends on one’s own personal chemistry? < shrug >
I just finished a major bout of productivity. Scooped the cat box, cleaned the kitchen floor (it was kinda gross) as well as the floors in both bathrooms (both very hairy - thanks, Higgs…) I cleaned the bathroom fixtures minus the tub and shower because I hate doing them, and because I clean our shower when I’m in there showering. I’ll clean the tub in the hall bathroom when we’re expecting someone to use it. Then I de-scummed the critter fountain. And changed all the bathroom towels. And mixed a pitcher of lemonade and a pitcher of fruit punch ( from powder, because that’s how we roll.)
Since this is my b-day month, I get a free burger at Red Robin, so we’re going there for lunch. Some time later, I’ll help FCD do his exercises. And I’m thinking we’ll have a hunk of sirloin cooked up sous vide for supper.
My daughter invited me over for a b-day dinner, but next weekend because she’s got a full plate this weekend. So that’s nice. Other than that, just another frosty day in paradise.
No park this morning. It was 7 degrees outside and everybody wimped out.
Except one friend who got called into irk. She was debating and if she was going, I was going.
I have lots to do, but will probably take a day of sloth.
I cleaned off Carmen, changed the sheets, and got a load of laundry in the dryer(you can see the steam coming out of the dryer vent outside). Got bacon baking, and French toast getting ready to go.
Tuesday I bought the first season of Game of Thrones and today I’ve started watching it. I’ve watched two episodes so far, probably will watch a couple more. After that limit myself to at most two a day. I had to pause it when Bran started climbing the wall. I’ve read the books and I knew what was coming.
Now I have to go start a load of laundry. It’s my second least favorite chore. Cleaning the floor it what I dislike the most.
We had lunch at Red Robin. Since then, I’ve been watching TV and working on the afghan for my niece’s soon-to-be second born. I should be able to finish it tomorrow and get it mailed on Moanday.
Supper will be grab whatever - I don’t feel like cooking. Chillage shall ensue.
Back from soccer. Most of the kids showed up, we had fun and I refereed a game and also had a short break to pay my gas bill. Watching tackleball now and trying not to fall asleep (I could feel myself drifting off to dreamland while I sat there, but managed to fight it off). Will nuke some Fettuccine Alfredo here in a bit to feed the hungry stomach.
Got to 35F today, so we broke the freezing barrier, but back down to 20F tonight.
Cupcakes, I never buy series either in stores or on TV, because I know I would be caught and never ever be able to move again. Been resisting Picardfor two seasons, not sure I’d make it past a third.
Taters, I’m sure the hair looks good, wish I still had enough to care about…
OK, back to the tackleball game and trying to stay awake for dinner. All y’all have a good night.
doggio, be careful with those clippers. My big bro used to trim his up himself too. Once, he was trimming and the #5 guard came off mid trim, leaving a nearly shaved strip down the top of his head. He wound up just buzzing the rest of his formerly thick, wavy auburn hair and looked like Uncle Fester for the duration.
I picked up the chair. It fits nicely in the studio and has better lumbar support (not difficult to improve on none). Zorba furnished the gyro that I had for supper. Now, playtime in the studio.
Howdy Y’all! I braved the cold (What? It’s cold for these parts!) and did the things. Sloth, nappage, and general chillage then ensued. We decided on burgers (left from last night) and chips for sup instead of chili. We’ll have that for N.O,L. after deheathenization and the annual meetin’ at the church house tomorrow. The meetin’ will be a combo of in person and online. I get to “run” the meetin’ as the out-goin’ Vestry person. The goal is to have it over within forty-five minutes.
Today I went to the credit union to deposit $243 of rolled coins. Then down to the Lummi gas station to refuel. Next was Petsmart for two large boxes of Slide cat litter and 25 tins of gooshy food. Then to Costco for (low-carb) Egg Bites (12) and a couple of bottles of wine. On the way home I stopped at the supermarket for some tiramisu for The Missus, some margarine, and bread crumbs. Picked up some fried chicken, too.
Got home, and SWMBO suggested we go to the brew-pub at the harbour for beer and oysters. I needed something immediately, so I had a cold fried chicken leg and wing. Wifey had some oyster stew after her oysters and bread, and I had a fish taco (on a flour tortilla, dammit! ). Went to the liquor store. I bought a bottle of Maestro Dobel Diamante Tequila that I plan to give as a gift to our roofer next time he stops by. Good work, good price, and very conscientious. At the liquor store, the guy suggested I try the añejo from the same company. I bought a bottle, and I’ll try some later.
Johnny L.A I have a question. When a bunch of coins are deposited at one’s own credit union, do they take a percentage as a counting fee? Or is that a service they usually provide.
No, they do not. I’m unaware of banks taking a percentage; though Coinstar certainly does. Considering how long it took me to sort, count (multiple times, to prevent miscount), and put the coins into wrappers, it may have been worth the 12.5% Coinstar charges.
