I was born in Illinois. Since then I’ve lived in Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Missouri. Now I live in New Mexico and this is where I intend to stay.
And Florida takes the early lead!
NSW
Yeah, where I live now has little or nothing to do with where I hail from. I’d choose Maryland, since I was born there and lived there again for about 15 years from my early teens off and on through my late 20s. But I’ve lived in Maryland, New York, Florida, New York, Virginia, Kansas, Virginia, California, Sicily (Catania), Massachusetts, Maryland, then I spent about 6 years hitch-hiking and bumming around throughout both the U.S. and Canada with a lot of time in Toronto, Maryland, Colorado, Massachusetts, Virginia, Massachusetts, Colorado, Ohio, Colorado, Canada (Ottawa), Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, Ohio, Massachusetts, Ohio.
Per the OPs rules, I voted Ohio.
Born in Michigan. Raised in Washington. In Washington still.
Utah (currently). FIRST!
CA’s got it beat already.
I was born and raised in California, and lived there most of my adult life. I’m living in Washington now.
Per the OP, I voted New York, but I’d still rather move back home to New Mexico if I could find a way.
New York. Unarguably the greatest country.
I figured I needed to celebrate while I could! Um…at least of Floridians are quick and responsive? Yeah…we’ll go with that!
I now live in California, and have been for several years.
GO GIANTS!!!
Previous to Maine (where I live now), I’ve lived in:
Alaska
Tennessee
Mississippi
Illinois
“If” I “get” or “have” to relocate again, it “could be”
Hawaii
or out of the USA entirely to
Japan, India or points unknown to me at the present time.
or back to Sweet Home Chicago.
Arizona.
It will be interesting to see if, here in 2014, there is still a little geographic effect in the SDMB of the fact that the SD column has its 1970s roots in Illinois.
(Although any overrepresentation, if any, could also at this point be just from the existence of a “Chicago” forum in the SDMB – obviously an indirect expression of the column’s roots and Cecil’s favorite city.)
Why are not:
confusion
fear
wonder
ecstasy
hunger
inebriation
Listed on the choices?
Why is everyone talking about birth place, where they would like to be or where they have lived the longest? The OP was quite clear to me and I feel that I am dishonest if I give my birth place which is not what was asked? ::: cornfussed ::::
Per my request, a mod got the title all nice and unambiguous…
Tho that alternate universe list of yours, GusNSpot, would make for a fun poll…
California; I’ve lived here all my life, except for a few years in New York when I was too young to really remember it. I’m surprised CA has taken such a lead.
I apologize for leaving DC out folks; esp. since I believe in you guys getting Congressional representation.
