Who eats Pop-Tarts with butter?

I’d definitely try the butter on the fudge or cinnimon poptarts, but which ones would go well with peanut butter? Chocolate?

Butter. On frosted or unfrosted maple sugar-cinnamon pop-tarts.

I grew up in Virginia, but learned it from my mother who grew up in Florida. However, I’m not sure how long Pop Tarts have been around, so she may have learned it in Virginia.

Philistines.

I no longer consume pop tarts. Pop tarts with butter sounds heinous. Toaster Strudel rules*.

For those times when I actually would eat something like that for breakfast. It’s usually the whole yogurt, bran, and dried fruit thing for me.

Mom, can you go make me a toaster-pastry-chocolate-mix-butter bar?!

ditto!

Unfrosted brown sugar cinnamon slathered with buddah. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I don’t think I “learned” to eat them that way since I’m the only one in my family that likes them.

I’m originally from Maryland, and I say Eeeeeewwwww!!! to the idea of butter on Pop-Tarts.

But I’m not a big butter fan in general.

I like butter on frosted berry flavors, especially strawberry. anything else (unfrosted, or non-berry varieties), no butter. I don’t care in the least if it’s butter or some vaguely butter-like imitation. learnt it in Ar-kin-saw.

Butter on a pop tart?! Never thought of it before. Sounds a bit gross though. I don’t plan on trying it any time soon. Although I do now fancy a pop tart. I haven’t had one in months.

And…Bassalopes!!!

Damn! Beat me by twenty minutes!

Yep, that’s what I mentioned in my first post. The fruity ones are just too sweet.

Never heard of buttering a Pop Tart, but since I’ll butter just about anything and like it (butteraholic) maybe I’ll try it sometime.

Did anyone else ever eat “milk toast”? Make toast, butter liberally, and sprinkle with a healthy layer of white sugar. Lay it on a plate and pour milk from the edge so it spreads out under and through the toast (not on top). Yum. Down-home goodness.

I’ve lived in MD most of my life and I have never even heard of putting anything on a Pop-Tart. I doubt it’s a MD thing, because no one I know has ever done such a thing. Thinking about it though, it doesn’t sound that bad (except calorie-wise of course) and with the right flavors, it’s probably pretty tasty.

No, but when I was little I used to put butter and sugar on a piece of toast and then microwave it. Made the sugar all warm and good

I keep seeing this thread title, so I had to pop in and agree with others that the thought of buttering one’s pop tart simply disgusts me, to the tune of putting a dollop of Crisco on your cheeseburger or adding some honey to one’s Coke.

IANANutritionist, but I don’t believe “healthy layer” and “white sugar” belong in the same sentence.
(JFTR, I only eat Pop-Tarts once in a while. Yes, I sometimes butter them, if I can find the unfrosted brown-sugar cinnamon kind. I had full bloodwork done at the beginning of the summer and I’m quite healthy. Just so’s you know.)

One time, I saw a chef on TV add duck fat to his hamburgers. Not having any duckfat, I decided to add Crisco to the burger meat before cooking.

Not bad. Nice texture, but just too greasy. It didn’t ruin the burgers, but I haven’t replicated it either.

Butter on a pop-tart? Dang, why not. . .compared to what’s in a pop-tart I consider butter health food.

But, but, it’s free of unhealthful dyes.

Ravenman, what about mayonnaise on your cheeseburger?

Oooh, while I am far too fond of butter, I think Pop-Tarts are nasty. So, no here.
