Who is sending Bombs?

More like being reminded of that one time you talked about the possibility of having 3 glasses of wine on New Year’s Eve.

That is the métier of the poster in question; he makes some baldly one-sided accusation about American politics and how its all being ruined by Democrats/liberals/whatever, then when confronted will make some bizarrely non sequitur-ish analogy defending his position, and then will start another thread shortly thereafter boasting about how British politics are so much more civil and respectful, willfully blind to people like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson.

A partial list of persons inspired by Trump to commit acts of violence.

I’ll quote just one this time:

There are more infamous incidents listed there: the guy who drove his car into a crowd in Charlottesville last year, killing Heather Heyer and injuring nearly 20 others; the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooter earlier this year (killed 17, wounded 17 more), the guy who stabbed 3 people on a train, two fatally, when they tried to stop him from harassing a Muslim woman and her friend…the list goes on.

The MAGAbomber is no outlier. Trump’s words have repeatedly inspired people to kill other people, and given that he feels so unfairly treated by the world that he feels he should ‘tone it up’ rather than ‘tone it down,’ the MAGAbomber will hardly be the last one. His race-based world view has brought so many others with similar attitudes out of the closet: where once they felt they had to hide their prejudices and hatreds, they now feel free to let their freak flags fly.

Trump may not be saying, “go kill people,” but he is giving them the psychic space to act out their feelings to a much greater extent than they felt it was safe to do before. They now feel part of a much larger movement, blessed by the #1 man in our government, when they do so. And while most of his fans won’t take it as far as murder, there will be that tip of the iceberg that will. This will keep happening as long as Trump is President, and there’s no telling how long afterwards it will take us to rid our body politic of this poison.

Too soon to tell whether Wednesday’s Kroger shooter in Kentucky or this morning’s Pittsburgh synagogue shooter should be added to this list.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware that the inciting of violence by Democrats was so much worse than I thought. Two, count em, TWO instances! :smack:

Ha. Yeah, that’s about my assessment of him - you expressed it quite eloquently.

Have you seen what goes on in Parliament over there? Their “civility” is something to see.

THIS is what keeps me up at night - even when Trump is gone, his cult will live on. For how long? It’s fucking scary.

The Pittsburgh guy apparently hates Trump for not being racist and anti-Semitic enough according to his social media.

The Pittsburgh shooter should be added to the list, but in a bizarre way: he was apparently killing Jews because he believes they control Trump; he was trying to free Trump from their influence.

Not only is there no equivalence between suggesting that, in a just world, Trump would be tried, convicted, and executed for capital crimes in accoradance with the rule of law on the one hand, and Trump’s constant stream of stochastic terrorism on the other, there is nothing at all wrong with the former. Even if you think the death penalty is wrong, that’s a policy difference where both sides fall within the range of reasonable opinion.

Stated by Debra Gurgehian, Sayoc’s former employer:

I wonder if I should hold my breath waiting for the GOP to acknowledge it has a serious problem with who it attracts and appeals to.

The loss of a Nazi vote, which is the core of his base, has got to be deeply disappointing for Trump. Before the midterms, he needs to make some adjustments:
[ul]
[li]Amp up his nationalist rhetoric [/li][li]Relentlessly attack Soros and other globalists (i.e., Jews) for the country’s problems[/li][li]Demote Kushner to coffeeboy status[/li][/ul]

Not unless you’re done with this world, IMO.

The NRCC is still running ads - new ones even, released since the bomb in Soros’ mailbox - attacking Dem candidates by saying they’re in the pay of George Soros.

GOP delenda est.

Seems the bomber-wannabe – remember, nothing actually blew up, he couldn’t even do that right – was a deejay at a strip club where Stormy Daniels performed this year. But there’s no indication they met.

I saw that interview too and my blood was boiling. She went on to say that she was utterly shocked to find out it was he who did it. Really? No clues there for you? And beyond that, she was further shocked because, besides his “political views” he was a really nice guy, a model employee. If you’re a small business owner, why the fuck would you continue to employ someone who is anti-gay, anti-black, anti-Jewish, you name it, no matter how fucking prompt he is?

News sources are trying to stress the point that he is native American, but so what. Like I said before, native Americans are a white (Caucasian) people. Just look at his pics and tell me how that MF is not white.

The part that got me was how she said he was so nice, polite and likable, then went on to say how he would tell her she would burn in hell for being a lesbian.

That owner is a lesbian, as she repeated multiple times, who made the accurate point that she couldn’t fire him because of his beliefs when he was doing his job and, as far as she knew, not harming anyone.

He used to tell her that she would burn in hell for being an abomination, but bizarrely he was able to like her on a personal level. And he never made a single threat that went beyond “you’ll go to hell.” I’m guessing that’s not the first time she’s heard that, and none of those other good, God-fearing people secretly sent bombs to former presidents, secretaries of state and other public figures of a political stripe to which they objected.

She is a remarkable person who represents the best of open-mindedness and tolerance, quite a difference from that asshole baker who couldn’t even make a cake once he learned it was for two guys.

The CNN host who first interviewed her (don’t remember her name, she was a sub for Erin Burnett) was, no pun intended, blown away by how generous this woman was, as were the people sitting around the panel.

AFAIK this is incorrect: Florida is a right to work state and employment is at the will of the employer. People can be fired for let go for no reason at all and political beliefs do not convey protected status on anyone.
