Who is sending Bombs?

No, she meant she couldn’t as in “because I’m a decent human being.” I understand that’s hard to comprehend in these dark times, but some people do good stuff regardless of laws forcing them to do so.

Perhaps you should have followed the link I gave in post #333.

If you watched the interview that was what she meant. The interviewer was a little dumbfounded and amazed.

Thank you for demonstrating your mendacious ignorance. Unlike Trump, I don’t believe either Farage or Johnson have advocated electoral violence. (I presume Johnson agrees with British military interventions overseas.)

Those people aren’t going away when Trump is gone, and I don’t mean the conspiracy nutters on YouTube and 4chan; I mean the Republicans who have learned to follow the “Trump Model” of electability. He has changed the political landscape in terms of what is acceptable to say in campaign ads, rallies, and in a policy debate, and not for the better.

Trump has to walk a fine line between neo-Nazis who hate Jews and fundie apocalypters who like the Jews because they are going to bring on the dispensationalist Rapture.

Kushner is crucial to…I’m sorry, I just can’t type it with a straight face. Jared Kushner is absolutely disposable. He’s Ivanka/Barbie’s vanilla boy toy.

I was actually slightly concerned that it might have been a previous employee that I managed, and was relieved to find out that he was from Florida, which just proves that potential nutcases range from coast to coast.

Oooooh, “mendacious”. I see you’ve purchased a thesaurus, or at least discovered Thesuarus.com. Meanwhile, you’ve managed to ignore the thrust of the observation regarding your proclivities, which is exactly the point.

Don’t respond, don’t even acknowledge false equivalency. The opposition must be overpowered.

Centrists, independents, moderates…what do you want your country to be?

Sorry, but this time, you have to pick a side. There is no center. Failure to understand that means the death of your country.

Yup:

Just remembered the anchors’ name–it was Kate Baldwin. She was literally speechless at the owner’s ability to separate a man’s revolting politics from his behavior toward her and her customers, which is what mattered to her. All she asked was that he do his job at night, so no one would see his van.

(Honestly if I had one objection toward her in maintaining him as an employee, it’s that she had been inside his van and knew how dirty it was–I’m pretty sure she mentioned the stench. Seems to me you wouldn’t want someone delivering your food in something that unhygienic.)

I think political beliefs should be a protected category. Even people with vile views deserve to be able to earn a livelihood, as long as it doesn’t impact how they do the job while on the clock.

Right, god forbid a nazi see some consequences for being a fucking Nazi.

Actually, I have a copy of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, and if you’d bothered to check, I first mentioned it in 2014. But you insist on attacking the poster and not the argument.

Well, you just keep spouting your stuff and deluding yourself and watch the Republicans and Trump win.

You have a plentiful lack of wit.

Well, since he’s gone on to harm plenty of people in a colossally shameful and fucked way, I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest she reevaluate her discernment skills going forward.

A motherfucker who works for me would not be telling “me all the time” that me and people like me don’t belong in the world. Sorry, but no one who thinks nothing of saying this to their lesbian boss deserves a job. I could maybe see letting him off with a warning the first time this genocidal garbage came out of his mouth, but repeated “all the time” instances? Fuck no.

Why are you characterizing her actions as “good” and “decent” instead of what they were? Which is naive and fucking stupid? An employer would be morally justified in firing a guy like him because someone who is extreme enough to advertise to his boss that he hates everyone who isn’t white and straight is liable to do some shit (like send bombs to people, maybe). I guess she wanted to give him a chance to do some shit first before firing him, but a competent boss would know that hate speech in the workplace is actually shit that is a firable offense by itself.

What decent human beings do is look at more than whether a employee’s labor measures up to their paycheck. Your praise of this women is an insult to those who would correctly see this guy as risk not worth inflicting on their customers and employees.

You consider it decency to enable a bigot so dedicated to their beliefs they’ll tell the person who pays them they are going to burn in hell? This is some grade A bullshit right here. This is why the hateful can continue to bleed this country; few step up to tell them to shut the fuck up and then ostracize them.

When we relegate the level of hate this man displayed as “political beliefs” then we are truly done, morally.

More from Gureghian:

So the guy was not only allowed to drive around as a representative of the restaurant with effigies of lynched black folks and whatnot decorating his van, but his coworkers we’re also expected to just deal with his hate speech because money.

Nothing defensible about any of this, let alone laudable.

In not just thinking about Nazis here. I’m thinking about anyone with beliefs outside the mainstream. Like someone from Democratic Socialists of America working for a Right-Wing employer. I’d be willing to protect bigots if it meant my side is being protected as well.

False equivalency is the new norm.

“BOTH SIDES! BOTH SIDES!” He screams into the night as one side spends an entire week committing acts of domestic terrorism.

Being fired can really screw up a persons life. If they can’t find another job on time, they could end up on the streets. I think that’s too severe of a penalty for merely having a repugnant belief. Keep in my that most people with repugnant beliefs like White Supremacy don’t act on those beliefs in a violent manner.

Spouting those beliefs at your co-workers who are part of that minority group IS acting on your beliefs.

“Jews are vermin!” “Well, Suzie was last week talking about how she’d like universal health care, so we can’t discipline that deplorable racist because it might show bias. Besides, we wouldn’t want him to suffer any negative consequences to his hate and fear-mongering.”

You sound ridiculous and you should feel badly.
