Somebody help me out here. ** Spingears** has not appeared in this thread. In the linked thread he makes a fairly mild response. How is he being an asshole? Maybe in other instances, but how here?

spingears is certainly one of my candidates for Least Valuable Poster. I can’t recall ever having seen him make a positive contribution to a thread. He usually just interjects some pointless, and often obnoxious, political or religious opinion in GQ. On the occasions he actually posts factual information, it is usually something that someone has already posted (and given more detail on), as in the thread in question. Very often it is outright wrong. He frequently ignores everything everyone else has posted. And sometimes he will just say something snarky about the OP or other posters.
This one is particularly inane. spingears is sort of a mean-spirited handy, although thankfully far less prolific.
The idea that spingears has the chutzpah to criticize anyone else really merits a resounding :rolleyes:
I’m not sure it’s always mean-spirited. Which doesn’t detract from the obnoxiousness, mind you. But I think a big part of it that he’s just plain stupid. At least when it comes to interacting with normal human beings. He’s snarky, but he’s mostly just dumb.
I guess I am being a bit slow. Are we saying that he is WSHBaker because both of them act like jerks, or is there some other connection?

I tried looking for “humming birds” but all I’m getting is “songbirds.” Maybe I’ll find the right answer if I try humming a few bars…
No wonder spingears was unable to find any information on humming birds and geese by Googling, as he said in his post in the thread.
