Who is YOUR Esprix?

Everytime I see one of Esprix’s posts I start hearing “Go West” by the Pet Shop Boys. I feel he must look exactly like Neil Tennant. And in fact, after reading one of his posts yesterday I had to go home and listen to “Actually”

Such a prolific and wondrous poster must also conjure up images for you, eh?

jarbaby

He’s SUPER, thanks for asking!

They were out when I went to the Store

I can’t answer this question because MH’s “Super…thank for asking” is stuck in my head now, to the exclusion of everything else.

But that’s not normally what I think when I think “Esprix.”

Lemme get back when I have anything else stuck in my head…damn you all.

What would Brian Boitano do…if he were here right now? He’d make a plan and he’d follow through. That’s what Brian Boitano’d do!

Actually, I picture him more as a Cary Elwes type. But that song will torture Hama for a while.

My picture of Esprix is similar to jarbaby’s. In my mind, he is Andy Bell of Erasure.

I don’t actually picture a person, more those shirts that Esprit clothing company put out in the 80’s. You know, with their name right across the breast in big letters? Is rugby-style the phrase I’m looking for?

No music for me. I’ve got him hopelessly to “justjack” from Will & Grace, sorry Esprix…

My mental picture of Esprix is way different from most of the posters here…

I always imagine him as being sturdily built, ruggedly handsome but a little short. In my mind he has black hair, glasses, and a goatee. He has a voice like a talk radio DJ and sometimes gestures his hand like The Rock when he’s typing. When flaming someone, he puts on his sunglasses.

Anyhow, that’s what I see…

Hmmpf, and what about Gobear? :frowning:

I saw Esprix at the Gaylaxicon, although I didn’t know it was him. He is a major hottie in the flesh.

gobear, baby, let me just say that if I were the right flavour for you, I’d be all over you, based solely on my mental image.

Esprix, for me, is Hermie, the Elf who wanted to be a Dentist. After seeing pictures from the last Dopefest, though, he’s more Craig Kilborn. Who wants to be an elf, who wants to be a dentist.

Jack Radcliffe maybe?

Well, before, when you were GoBoy, I imagined you as looking like Cy-Kill. With the new name, I instead see that ursine secret agent from Joe Paradise whose name I can’t remember. Anyhow, either way I imagine you as an animated character. Sorry.

Scott Thompson’s character of Buddy Cole on Kids in the Hall

I dunno… as I’ve seen his picture, that is the mental image I have of him. But, I’m pretty sure he has the voice of Charles Nelson Reilly.

:smiley:

Although I’ve seen his pictures, I sort of picture him as a composite between three of my favourite gayboy characters -

  1. Eric from Edge of Seventeen, the cute kid with dyed hair and the Boy George fetish, who hangs out with Lea Delaria;

  2. Antony, a femme blond boy from the educational anti-homophobia play The Other Side of the Closet (to a gay-basher: “You’d better be careful, the last time I was this close to another man we were slow-dancing!”);

  3. Harley from *Boy Meets Boy*

  • after they’ve all grown up.

When I see the handle “Esprix”, I always think of the video game company “Epyx”. They just have a similar ring/look to them. Also, “Esprix” sounds like a character from a computer game, which adds to the association.

“They were out”! Get it – “out”! Hahahahahahahahaha!!!
Seriously, though, I picture Craig Kilborn. Don’t ask me why.

Don’t ask me why…I always picture some tall, elegant wading bird, snowy white, with fanciful head plumage. Done in watercolor with lots of muted blues and greens in the background.

For some reason, Esprix is a painting.

I see him as neither tall nor short and neither slim nor stocky. Well-dressed, but more butchy than sissy.

A David Rakoff type.

And his basic facial expression is more serious and grim than he’s actually feeling.
