Everytime I see one of Esprix’s posts I start hearing “Go West” by the Pet Shop Boys. I feel he must look exactly like Neil Tennant. And in fact, after reading one of his posts yesterday I had to go home and listen to “Actually”
Such a prolific and wondrous poster must also conjure up images for you, eh?
I don’t actually picture a person, more those shirts that Esprit clothing company put out in the 80’s. You know, with their name right across the breast in big letters? Is rugby-style the phrase I’m looking for?
My mental picture of Esprix is way different from most of the posters here…
I always imagine him as being sturdily built, ruggedly handsome but a little short. In my mind he has black hair, glasses, and a goatee. He has a voice like a talk radio DJ and sometimes gestures his hand like The Rock when he’s typing. When flaming someone, he puts on his sunglasses.
gobear, baby, let me just say that if I were the right flavour for you, I’d be all over you, based solely on my mental image.
Esprix, for me, is Hermie, the Elf who wanted to be a Dentist. After seeing pictures from the last Dopefest, though, he’s more Craig Kilborn. Who wants to be an elf, who wants to be a dentist.
Well, before, when you were GoBoy, I imagined you as looking like Cy-Kill. With the new name, I instead see that ursine secret agent from Joe Paradise whose name I can’t remember. Anyhow, either way I imagine you as an animated character. Sorry.
Although I’ve seen his pictures, I sort of picture him as a composite between three of my favourite gayboy characters -
Eric from Edge of Seventeen, the cute kid with dyed hair and the Boy George fetish, who hangs out with Lea Delaria;
Antony, a femme blond boy from the educational anti-homophobia play The Other Side of the Closet (to a gay-basher: “You’d better be careful, the last time I was this close to another man we were slow-dancing!”);
When I see the handle “Esprix”, I always think of the video game company “Epyx”. They just have a similar ring/look to them. Also, “Esprix” sounds like a character from a computer game, which adds to the association.
Don’t ask me why…I always picture some tall, elegant wading bird, snowy white, with fanciful head plumage. Done in watercolor with lots of muted blues and greens in the background.
