Who Wants to Win Cubby's Christmas Present?

I have consulted with my mystery friend, and we have not one, but two grand prize winners! Chef Troy and Zette will each be receiving KinderEgg AdventsKalendars as soon as the Army Post Office can get them into their hot little hands. Congratulations, you two really deserve them.

But don’t despair, non-winners, courtesy of my friend aka Mysterious Benefactor, all of the runners up will receive 3 packs of yummy KinderEggs and a postcard from Hamburg (I will be supplying the postcards). Except for FairyChatMom, who gets both the 3/4 full bag of Rolos and a picture of Cubby’s backside. And the Europeans won’t be getting jack, since they can bloody well get their own KinderEggs. Plus, I’m giving Snormy a suprise tomorrow!

Next contest: Who wants to pick out Cubby’s new Christmas present!

Oh, bugger. Too late for Kinder Eggs. :frowning:

I adore those chocolate eggs and miss them terribly here in the States.

Oh, well. Congrats to those who got them.
[tonythetiger]They’re Great![/tonythetiger]

Whoo Hoo! A postcard and Kinder Eggs. Thanks Tater and Mysterious Benefactor. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the arrival of this gift.

Congratulations Zette and Chef Troy.

Three cheers and a big YEEHAW! for tatertot and Mysterious Benefactor!!!

Woohoo!!
Christmas Chocolate!
ohboyohboyohboyohboy!

:note to self - find something nice for tatertot and Mysterious Benefactor in return:

Shite! I forgot all about Rachelle’s Grandma! My only excuse is that I’m so excited about my big weekend in Deutsches Sin City with Snormy, that my head isn’t on straight. Forgive me? :o <----see you gotta forgive me, look how embarrassed I look!

Oooh, and remember to send your address…hmmmm, I notice that lots of people sent me their work address. Okay, who was the wise guy who spread the word about me being a cat burglar/stalker?

Debbi, I need yours too, because my address book got wiped out. Bleh. I need to send a Christmas card to my little goddog, too. I’ll see if I can get his godfather to sign it, too.

I’m flabbergasted!! I’m beyond words! 2nd AND 3rd prize?? <wiping a tear> Tatertot, I’m now officially your bestest friend in Florida. If you ever come to Jacksonville (Tho I’m not sure WHY someone would voluntarily come to Jax) I’ll buy ya lunch!! I’m just overwhelmed… pardon me while I compose myself…

tatertot, before you send the Rolos off to FairyChatMom, could you spare just one out of the bag?

Abby, the Bat-Dog (for the rest of you, Abby’s on the bottom left-hand corner of the page) loves Rolos. She chews on them for hours.

Possible Christmas present for SqrlCub: a picture of Abby dressed as Santa Claus, as I’m sure it will appear in the next letter from my mum.

Tater sweetie, the only reason I sent you MY work address is that I’m going to be giving the kinder eggs to a co-worker…and if the swag is never in my house there’s no chance that my wife or son will open it and start chowing down.

I know James is going to be thrilled, and you are a most generous person for helping me cheer him up.

Just let me know what kind of love letter you want and I’ll get right on it. (no derisive laughter from all the people who are still waiting for love letters from me months after I promised them…THIS is different.)

Huzzah and kudos for tatertot and our Mysterious Benefactor! You are both exceedingly generous (not that I needed chocolate to know that) and have absolutely made my entire weekend. As promised, you have my undying love and admiration… and the rubber duckie, if you want it.

And, of course, congratulations to Chef Troy, Zette, and FairyChatMom!

By the way, tater, thank you for referring to us as “non-winners” rather than “losers.”

Yeah! Yeah!
Hooray!
My address is on the way!

PS- Screechowl- if you want any of the above items (the Speidie Sauce or the Bar-B-Que) I’d be happy to send you some. I also think that this sauce:

Is awesome. Let me know!

Here’s a link to the State Fair Spiedie Sauce source…

Zette, is it made out of real spiders?

After that whole disappointing mess with the Girl Scout cookies I don’t want to be burned again.

Chefie,
You are a strange, strange man.

Zette

I’m sending my address now, tatertot. If you send me yours, I can send you the bunny! (Or should I send it to Mysterious Benefactor?)

What happened with the Girl Scout cookies?

And Chef, as I stated, Spiedie Sauce is wonderful! (Didn’t know they now have other flavors!) My family would make a bee-line for the “International Foods Pavilion” (now the “Pepsi Pavilion”, IIRC [sub][muttering] damn fair has gotten too damned commercial, forgotten their roots of agriculture and innovention, management ought to go to North Carolina or Texas to see a REAL state fair [/muttering][/sub] at the NY State Fair.

The Dinosaur Bar-b-Que Sauce link is Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s Barbeque Sauce from New York, but I ain’t gonna argue with a biker especially when it’s good stuff. Haven’t tried the ‘Wango Tango’ sauce yet - the one with the barbed wire and skull & crossbones on the label.

zette, do you have a source for Hinterwadel’s Salt Potatoes?? THAT I cannot get in Florida. I can trade you some grapefruit wine from the Lakemont Winery (actually pretty good, and they throw a great jazz festival in the fall).

Actually, I have found one or two bottles at Albertson’s (grocery chain). Got my neighbors hooked on it too. Ooooooh, that’s what I’ll do for Christmas dinner! Spiedies on the outdoor gas grill, sit around in shorts and a t-shirt, decorate the miniature palm tree, and gloat.

screech,
The Girl Scout reference is Chef complaining that his cookies weren’t made out of real Girl Scouts (a la The Adams Family)

I’ll check on the salt potatoes- We do have salt potatoes, but I’ve never looked at the brands. When I’m at the store this weekend I’ll look. I’d be happy to send you a “care pack” for Christmas. I’ll also check and see which of the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que sauces we have. Our local Wegmans carries all of that stuff.

I’ll keep you posted!
Zette

What are salt potatoes?? Like a potatoe chip?

Thanks for tromping all over my punchline, zette.

pretends to be disgruntled

And the family you mention spells it “Addams.”

Salt Potatoes are little potatoes that come with a big bag of salt. (Usually a 5lb bag of taters and about 1lb of fine salt). You soak the potatoes in the salt and water for a few hours, then boil them. You then serve them in a bowl (whole, skins on) swimming in butter. They are a delight, and found at every single town and county fair in NY, and most bar-b-ques, too. Yum, yummy good!

Sorry about the punchline, Chef! He didn’t get the joke, so I thought I’d help him out, since it’s one of my favorites. Peace?

Zette
