Trump will pick whoever he thinks will help him win. That’s it. MAGA-land can either accept whoever that is or abandon him, and they’re too attached to do that now.
I also don’t see how they get around Rubio and Trump both being from Florida. DJT certainly won’t change his residency back to NY and Rubio won’t give up his seat in the Senate until he has to do it. Will DJT move to NJ or what?

According to the U.S. constitution, senators have to be state residents “when elected.” They do not have to be residents while serving.
Residency is a reason why Trump may not pick Rubio. However, there are negatives regarding all potential veeps. J.D. Vance is getting a lot of mention lately, even though he once suggested that Trump is either a “cynical asshole” or “America’s Hitler.”
Meh. I still expect Stefanik or Scott.
Given the outpouring of love for the asshole from the Republic Party I’ll make an unconventional pick prediction. Pence and trump will have a Lewis and Martin type reconciliation at one of trump’s fascist rallies. Pense will claim that trump is the right man for the job despite some trivial philosophical differences they may have. And he is once again trump’s VP pick.
I don’t think Trump or his supporters would really mind either of those descriptions of him.
Watched the NBC national news tonight. On it Trump was quoted as saying he knows who the candidate will be and they will be there at the debate. He wouldn’t say who it is. I wonder if he will use the debate to announce. It would take of some time he would otherwise need to make up answers

He will still have an entourage. Like the senators speaking for him outside of the trial. Just because they aren’t on camera doesn’t mean he won’t have people with him.

It’s a nice thought but I’m sure there are allowances made for large entourages. Usually there is a lot of after debate spin going on with proxies from both sides for the 24 hour news channels.
