Who's missing that you really want to see on the Board?

Der Trihs posted in the More Jokes thread.

@Guinastasia !

I dropped into an old post where she (?) took part … haven’t seen anything in a long time … (I have very strong visual memory, and here avatar is kind of unique, so maybe that made it stand out more) …

I think she’s deceased.

I found @VOW . She is ok.

Sadly, Guin passed away last March.

ohhh… sorry - sad to hear

:pensive:

Sorry to see this. Do you know what happened to her?

She battled epilepsy with less than perfect results, experiencing breakthrough seizures despite medication.

I still miss Marley. I wish Bo would come and tell us about his move to the east coast.

I found her memorial thread and saw that. Thanks.

I often wonder what happened to @Statsman1982 and if he’s still alive. This post of his: I'm burned out and I haven't even started yet!, back in 2011, really connected with me at the time as I was going through my own stressors at the time. Does anyone know?

This is years later, but I was reminded of something unrelated and was just casually poked around. I’m pretty certain this was CannyDan, who passed away in October, 2019 (and last posted here in July of that year). Didn’t see this in the In Memoriam thread, but apologies if it has been posted before.

Great poster, great loss.

Hey, where the hell did Zoe go? Has it really been a freaking decade since she last posted?

Sadly Zoe passed away in 2017

Thanks so much, hajario!

It’s been a long time since I went back through all these comments and wishes from so many cool people here!

Seven years haven’t quite “flown by” but all these comments have surely made it seem like yesterday.

And thanks to you, too AHunter3!

Here’s hoping that all of you who are “enjoying” the Big Snow can treat it like a Big SHOW!

Bless you all!

Dave/Zeldar

That is pretty certainly correct.

It has been more years than I can remember since I posted here. I stop by every couple of years just to see how things are. The every-growing “In Memorandum” thread as well as this one saddened me when I saw how many people I knew (some in real life) who are no longer with us. However, it also heartens me to see that there are still a lot of people still around who participate, and to learn that even the ones who have moved on to other things in life are doing well.

I’m not nearly the same person as I was in '99 when I first joined, which I’m sure is true for all of us, and despite its problems I still consider the SDMB to be a bright spot on the Internet. I wish all of you well, and hope the board continues on to make a new generation laugh/ponder/argue (hopefully civilly)/question things and seek knowledge.

thx, maybe you can get past your committment issues and stick around this time

We haven’t solved it yet.
