Sounds like a lot of us. I know I have ruffled a few feathers in my time.
As for Bricker…I think he hung too tightly to his conservatism which became harder and harder to defend in the Trump era. Not a person who could admit he was wrong easily and he could not defend his conservatism.
I don’t think anybody has mentioned these yet.
Le Ministre de l’au-dela. A fine musician and singer, with a number of recordings to his credit; and the host of the “Flash Fiction” contests that we used to have. I had the privilege of meeting him in Toronto back in 2012, and he was just as pleasant and friendly in person, as he was here.
fishbicycle. A radio host whose knowledge of recorded music was second to none. We were in touch for a while after he quit the SDMB, and he was kind enough to send me some files of songs that are practically impossible to find any more.
Gfactor. An American lawyer, he often added knowledge to legal discussions. He was also kind enough to help me with citations to old American law, when I was writing a law school paper that incorporated 200+ year-old American laws.
Cat Whisperer and her husband Dread Pirate Jimbo. Cat had a number of interests that she posted about, and Jimbo added greatly to discussions about sports. Thankfully, they are local to me, and though they no longer post, we are still in touch in person. I did let them know about Tuba, and they were shocked and saddened to hear the news.
I’m enjoying this thread, I have to say.
The search function in this new place works different from the old board.
I love reading old threads.
It seems, unless I’m just a dummy, I’ll have to, at least have a starting place, a name or topic.
I’m finding some real gems going about my searching in a left-handed way.
I’ve just today, found how to access my own old threads. So I’ll bet there’s a way to access anyones. I just havn’t found it yet.

We corresponded briefly back when that topic ban incident occurred. I don’t blame him for not coming back, he was treated horribly.
