Tigs, If your washer and dryer is anything like my parents, I envy you a lot.
swampy, but I got a 98 on my PCAT! ::grumble::
I got stood up by a guy today. Ugh.

donkeybear the fact that you test well will play to your advantage in a couple years. Trust me on this, experience plus good test scores will do ya a lot of good. Oh and a lifetime of ouchy paper cuts to the fool that stood you up.
Ok y’all, behave. Ima go night night now.
:scurries out from beneath pile of bachelor filth:
Firday went. I’m still alive. I do mancleaning, but I always wash my dishes
(Except for the last beerverage glass). I don’t sleep on planes, I like watching the terrain and watching the wings work.
Yay Muppet!!
Haze, write often. Of course, I’m still single. Hint Hint.
MamaTigs, congrats on the new washer and dryer. I need to replace my dryewr.
: scurries back under pile of bachelor filth:
No wonder I’m tired–it’s after 10pm. I have a sinus headache, too. Off to bed–work tomorrow.
Have a good weekend, all. Hazel–have a good flight. I will miss my Northside neighbor. When you come back, please live here again, so we can have lunch. Pinkie swear?
Good fly, Haze, hope you sleep well on da plane… Let us know when you get there so we don’t worry, 'kay?
I’m tahred too–I put together a big old batch of kits today and took inventory and ordered stuff and it made me all snoozy. I’m gonna manage to watch Battlestar through half open eyes then crash like a paralyzed albatross.
Tomorrow is Grandboy’s birthday, we’re meeting up at Sweet Tomatoes (the only place where 3 vegetarians, three omnivores and a picky eater can manage to eat happily for cheap) for brunch and prezzies then he and Uncle are going to go off and do the boy’s day out. We’ve explained to Uncle that there will be no strippers OR beer for the twelve year old!
I had nom nom burgers for dinner, I think I want a few chocolate covered pretzels for dessert, mmmmm…
I really wanted to hang out before I left too, rigs.
I guess both of our lives have been pretty hectic lately.
I can’t sleep on planes either. Unless I’m drunk/drugged. Anyway, I have three books and a cross-stitch pattern to work on - hopefully that will keep me occupied enough for the 15-odd hours on the plane.
I think I’m more or less finished cleaning. All I really need to do is vacuum. Good thing the guys downstairs are all away.
Thank the gods, the weather is cool tonight. All that cleaning has me sweating like a who- er, a woman of loose morals.
It’s not the morals that’s loose!
:: smacks self for Haze ::
BRB, stay safe kiddo.
Haze, safe journey! ~waving~
You’ll post when you get there, right?
Say goodbye to The Guy for us. ~waving ~ at The Guy He’s been loads of entertainment for those of us reading along.
I’m probably too late, but have a safe journey, Haze.
Ugh, I’ve got to get up in just a few hours to tidy up the house and get ready for my daughter’s graduation. We have to have her at the fairgrounds NLT 9:00 a.m.
The ceremony starts at 10:00 a.m. I guess we’ll probably be there shortly after 8:00 in hopes of finding good seats.
We’re taking her and her sweetie to dinner tomorrow evening. I don’t know what the afternoon plans are, but sometimes between tomorrow and Sunday, I need to get a tux rented for my son so he can go to his formal dance on Monday evening.
On the 23rd, we register my daughter for her college classes. This coming Tuesday, I have to go to an award ceremony for my son 7:50 in the morning. Sunday, I’ll spend the day making lasagne because that’s what Mr. Taters want me to make for Father’s Day. I make a kick-ass lasagne.
I’m hoping that I don’t have to do a damn thing this coming Friday. It’s my RDO and I just want to relax. I’ve been too busy lately and I’m tired, tired, tired.
Hmm, I’m attempting to overcome my crippling fear of electronic correspondence as well as possibly begin dating again. I’ve selected three lucky [DEL]ladles[/DEL] ladies, let me share their ads and you can help me pick one to email.

I awake the MMP’s suggestions.
Your resident bachelor,
beebs

I see all those words, and all I hear is “bbbbbzzzzz”.

Just a short “Have a safe trip” note for you!
Sounds like a plan!?
I hope the flight isn’t too bad. I hope the next year lies by for you, and you’ll find yourself back in the USA in no time.
I (and I speak for all of us, I think) expect you to continue posting – the MMP will finally have truly global coverage of all the time zones!
How do you spell “obligatory drunken post” in Korean/Hangul characters?
Everybody else – yays, boos, OMGs as appropriate. Have a great weekend!
2 sounds like trouble. 3 sounds like she used to be trouble, and may be trying to reform her ways possibly. 1 might be cool, depending. The only way to be sure is to have some steak fajitas. Fortunately I posted a recipe just a short time ago.
Okay, I’ll tackle Beeb’s request for … help.
Go with #1, Beebs; the other two just sound a bit off (like maybe ex-boyfriend issues or alcohol issues?!). Just my suggestion, mind you.
Whew, so glad that it’s the weekend! I used up some of my credit time and left at noon Friday. I met up with my daughter and we went to the Whole Paycheck in Silver Spring, making a stop at Chik-fil-a first. I like their chicken sandwich, but good Og, that place was packed at lunch time–with lots of small children, some of whom were not as well behaved as others. After Whole Foods, we made a stop at Giant, then came home. Between all that shopping and the heat, we were both wiped.
My daughter got me a “learn to knit” kit–they didn’t have the crochet kit that I wanted.
I know I can crochet, but I honestly don’t think I’m coordinated enough to learn to knit. Seriously, you have to be able to get your right and left hands to work together, harmoniously, to knit–and I don’t think I have that ability! At any rate, I did find a crochet hook and have started on a scarf of sorts, using just basic stitches. We’ll see what comes of it. At least I have something to do with my hands now, other than wanting a cigarette. Oh yeah, 5 weeks and 4 days, btw.
Haze, have a safe journey to Seoul; we’ll be thinking of you, and waiting for you to post once you’re there. {{{{{hugs}}}}}
Talk about your Freudian slips! (check where the word “flies” is supposed to be).
Sorry, sorry!
Ditto! Fly safe Haze!
Safe journey, Haze - don’t forget to write!
Manclean? I don’t even want to go there. Sometimes I swear 'im indoors washes the dishes in the dark with his eyes closed 'cos I so often have to wash them again later. And apparently the concept of rinsing out the bowl and the sink are completely alien concepts, as is the idea of cleaning out the bath when you’re done.
He does manage to do laundry but normally he leaves his clothes lying on the floor until he’s got enough for at least three machine-loads, and tries to cram it into two loads so the machine makes horrible noises and leaks water over the kitchen floor. Do I dare mention to him the fact that I spent £1,000 having that floor fixed?
Then there’s the vacuuming. If I decide to vacuum the floors, I do all of them. His version of vacuuming involves doing the living room and staircase. So how do the kitchen, hallway, bathroom, study and bedroom floors get clean? Oh, that must be the cleaning fairy. While I’m grumbling, let’s talk about mopping. The kitchen, hallway and bathroom have tiled/linoleum floors so they can be mopped clean. Of course I vacuum first to get the dust/muck off them and then mop them to get everything else clean. When he mops the floors, he leaves bits of dirt etc (cat biscuits, bits of tuna that Shadow throws out of the his bowl, hair, furballs etc) in a soggy mess on the floor for someone else to clean up later. Does he just not see this?
Last night I vacuumed (properly!) and then we went to the pub for beerverages with some friends. It was actually decent enough to sit outside for a while then we moved inside a bit later when there was room for all 12 of us. We got a cab up to The Beacon Hotel and had a few pints of their Sarah Hughes’ Dark Ruby Mild. It’s potent stuff at 6%, each barrel is brewed with the inclusion of a bottle of port in it…no wonder it’s nearly midday and 'im indoors is still in bed recovering!
Taz is on The List. He started his day around 4 by climbing all over me before crawling under the covers and snuggling next to my legs. That I could forgive. But he followed it up a few hours later by peeing on the love seat. He gave himself away when he was scratching on the upholstery trying to “bury” it. Brat. Maybe he’s trying to tell us that he wants fresh litter.
Daughter came home last night with a big bag of dirty laundry. We met her in Prince Frederick for BBQ, then she and her dad went to West Marine (they never give us a name discount, doggone them!!) and got her a sailing life vest. She’ll be teaching sailing at the summer camp. Once home, she did laundry and caught up on her on-line life, then we all crashed by 11. Unfortunately, she needs to leave between 9 & 10 to be back to the camp before noon. Today they move to their permanent cabins, and tomorrow, the first of the kids arrive.
She’s loving the camp so far - she’s one of maybe half a dozen American counselors among the 90+ on staff. The other day, she went shopping and to dinner with a couple of Swedish girls, and she said there are Ukranians, Poles, Aussies, Kiwis, a Brazilian, some Brits, folks from France, Italy, Portugal, South Africa… oddly, tho, no Asians. Anyway, she said her “English as a Second Language” training is really coming in handy at camp. Oh, and they’re paying her 25% more than they’d originally said, so she’s happy about that, too.
Doggies go to a new groomer at noon today. It’s closer and cheaper than taking them to PetCo - we’ll see how it goes. Gotta remember to leave around 11:40.
And other than that, construction continues. We’re hoping to get all of the walls framed today. The tricky part will be building the soffit around the heating duct - it’s not a good idea to nail a 2X4 directly into the duct, but we’re engineers, so we can deal.
Good thought to Haze!
Congrats, tarra!!!
**beebs ** - I vote for #1 also.
swampy, your posts do occasionally sound a little gay - are you sure that’s what you want to project??
Hugs all around!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon purtification shall commence cause we’re goin’ out for some brekkies. The rest of the day plans call for a bunch of nuttin’. It’s not as hot so it’ll be great pool time. I have no idea what we’ll eat today. I’m thinkin’ makin’ a run to the sto after brekkies for deli stuff.
Beebs number one sounds like the best of the lot. However, are you sure you want involvement with someone with a kid? Just sayin’…
Sturm your fajita recipe sounds nummy. I shall try it soon. I’ve actually never made fajitas but the recipe sounds simple enough.
Ok, off for purtification.
Later Y’all!
Morning, everyone.
It looks like it’s struggling to be sunny.
Be sunny, dammit!
And safe trip, Haze!
Up, caffeinated, off to work.
beebs, go with #1, you can’t go wrong with a Packer fan.
Haze, have a good flight. We’ll leave the light off in room 304 for you.
