I like Morg!
Though it might get confusing if Mork ever decides to make a reappearance.
I’m sneaking out early today, because it’s quiet and I have no work to do (plus, if i stay till 5pm, I’ll miss my ride because he’s leaving at 3pm today). SHhhhhhhhh.
tiptoes out
Thanks, guys… swampy, my daughter says Grandkid has been very quiet and flat this morning. It’s especially sucky that this is the next to last day of school and all the usual fun stuff isn’t going to be much fun for the kids.
The weather turned crappy again so that’s not helping my mood even a little.
I’ll drag my bummer butt outta here… I need to crawl into my hole and pull it in after me I guess.
There are no claims to accuracy made by the Walking Windows Character Map.
One of the reference librarians brought in fresh cherries. I’ve had four and I’m nailing myself to the desk so I don’t go back in the office and eat the whole plate. $2.99/lb at the Lion of Food grocery store. Guess where I’m going after work?
FANFARE OF TRUMPETS SIGNALLING AN ACCOMPLISHMENT
I have now written a page-and-four-lines rough draft of what will potentially be a somewhere-around-three page section of my first thesis chapter. Writing: I’m no longer just talking about it.

Here’s my new ring!
This weekend basically sucked. I was completely exhausted, for no apparent reason. I’ve been craving salt like crazy and I can’t drink enough water. I’ve skipped the salty foods and gone straight to Gatorade, trying to kill two birds with one stone. My electrolytes and blood sugar are normal, so who knows what’s going on. Plus, I’m back to being cold when it’s hot and hot when it’s cold, which is really annoying, with the bonus of my hands and feet going numb at random times. Everything is tolerable, except the fatigue. I miss weekends!
I’d like to be able to think clearly when I’m at work, too.
No love for my chicken jokes?
Sigh, the Mumpers haves spoken.

Well, I got my cookies to the PO, and it wasn’t even too painful! I usually go to the one in the same suburb where I live and work, but now from our new work location (and actually from the new-ish home location too), the PO in a different town is closer, and it’s a lot less crowded. And they actually had 3 people working. During the lunch hour! Who’d have thought?? (The bigger, busier PO that I used to go to closes all but 2 windows from noon to 1 because… “it’s lunch time and we’re government workers, dammit!” Ugh. OK so they don’t actually say that, and I generally have nothing against gov’t employees… my parents worked for the state gov’t. But for some reason, there’ve been a couple POs where they take their entitlement a bit too seriously, to the detriment of customer service.)
It’s finally nice out after a week and a half of overcast, rainy weather so I biked back to work from lunch. And now I’m bored. I’ve done everything that needs to get done today. Can’t I go play in the sun now?
{{Smarty}} That’s so sad. We knew a guy who lost his 11-year-old son in another freak drowning accident (he got sucked under by a shrimp boat’s unattended nets), and it was so devastating for everybody. My prayers are with the family. And the scoutmaster.
Yay for starting the writing, Spaz! You do realize that now this means you have to keep on; you can’t just rest on your laurels?
{{Shadow}} I hope you get things resolved so you feel better soon!
Thanks for the suggestions on cleaning the dryer vent, gotti. I actually saw a kit at the store this afternoon, but I want to go look at the hose, as you said, before spending $$ on it. I suspect it hasn’t been cleaned in, oh, probably forever, so this is the perfect opportunity to really get it cleared out. And Papa Tigs will enjoy using his shop vac.
I just went out and ran a couple errands, and I am here to report that it is HOT, HOT, HOT out there. And HUMID, HUMID, HUMID. Feels like South Louisiana! Isaac was just dying to go out and chase his Kong nevertheless, so since most of the yard is in shade at this time of day, I took him out for 12 throws. At the end of the 12, he was still doing okay, so I gave him 3 more. We then came inside without a peep of protest from him.
He feels obligated to retrieve his Kong; it’s his job, and it’s very important that he be a good boy and do his job. He’s a retriever, after all! Stoopid dog.
After calling around, I found someone who will come take away the old loveseat – on June 27.
I’d like to be able to have my new chair delivered! So I’m still thinking we may put it out by the curb with a “free to a good home” sign on it. If it gets taken, yay! If not, oh well; at least it’ll get picked up.
Argh argh argh it’s hot.
Let’s have fall! Please!
Nat’s currently chewing on Driving Husband and the keyboard Mr. Lissar brought home for him.
I like Pie!
Smarty- that is so sad about your grandkid’s friend. Tragic.
gotti hope BIL is doing better soon!
How strange. There was just wetness coming from the sky and there was terrible booming noise along with it. What could it be???
gotti, you are so right about heatstroke. That’s what nearly “done in” Mr. Anachi when he had his heart attack three years ago. The cardiac team needed to deal with kidney failure along with a blocked artery in his heart. And how did this happen? He thought he could mow, edge, dig, sweep, and use the blower all in 95° heat on a cloudless day.
smarty, that is too sad about the young man.
Feel betters and hugs for all who need it.
Puggy it’s rainin’ in Flahrdy? Dangitall, send some up here. I want tstorms real bad. This front they claim is comin’ in, better, By Og, come in!
Yeah, I’m home. Just couldn’t cope anymore today. Actually I have some stuff to do this evenin’ should I feel so inclined. Right now, Ima go make supper cause I’m hongry!
Later Y’all!
Yay! Snowbunny just got herself what she needs to get online from home. So hopefully she’ll be able to join us from home now as well as work. I’ve missed having her around online to [del]harass[/del] converse with on a daily basis!
No, I liked! I forgot to mention it in my last post, and I’ve been distracted since.
Pretty ring, Pie! I just got a package from Etsy myself - an anklet.
If The Guy keeps coming over I will never get any packing done. Speaking of which, I just called the local USDA office to get a stamp on Olive’s health certificate and they have the weirdest hours I’ve ever heard of - 6:45am to 3:15pm. :dubious:
It’s nice and breezy today.
Wow, a thunderboomer just passed through and dumped a whole buncha rain on us. Lucky for me, I just had to do a mad dash from the bus stop to the front door as the first fat drops started falling… I’m wearing a white cotton skirt that would probably have gone quite see-thru had it gotten soaked.
Love the ring, Pie. Very very noice! (and I’m not even a fan of bright purple, most of the time)

Going to take a nap now - I’m pooped. Blargh.
YES! I’ve got internet at home again!! But the provider’s site doesn’t want to let me log in so I can change my password. I’ll give the system a while but if it still won’t I might have to call them back.
Smarty, that’s so sad. {{{{{Smarty and all involved}}}}}
I need to go do laundry. I suppose I can tear myself away from my computer for long enough to do that. It’s nice having clean underwear to wear to work.
I’m coming in late to this one, but I do enjoy chicken jokes.
Today I stayed home as well, due to a raging headache from not sleeping all night. We put in our only AC yesterday in our TV room, as we spend most of our time there, but the bedroom was horrible. So we switched rooms at 1 AM and the futon was horribly uncomfortable. Sooo, I called in an slept in the hot room for a few hours and then crashed with a video game for the afternoon.
It’s almost venison stew time…yum.
For some reason I read that as thunderboner and did a double-take. Hee.
Made arrangements to have stuff moved to my brother’s place. I need to figure out what to do with my chairs.
