I didn’t mention kharma. 5-4-Fighting did.
I only mentioned irony.
As long as jayjay never has to have anything to do with Sharon Stone’s vajayjay, I’m fine with that…
I’m kind of surprised at the present tense being used in reference to Jerry Falwell.
Was it ever established (as in, cited somewhere other than a conservative talk show) that anyone actually seriously said they were going to move out of the United States if Bush was elected? I’m suspicous because I keep hearing different names attached to this story. And it’s always some shrill and unpleasant liberal celebrity like Baldwin or Barbra Streisand or Rosie O’Donnell or Sean Penn. You never hear about it being some popular liberal celebrity like George Clooney or Paul Newman.
Some of us . . . usually at two in the morning . . .
-
I didn’t know she had said anything.
-
I confess to earthquake story fatigue (unlike 9/11 where I knew people who knew people who died).
-
I didn’t know Sharon Stone was in any way important on any world stage at this point.
-
I didn’t know that she had masses of people giving her money and listening to her teachings re destiny and spirituality.
-
I’ve never seen a Sharon Stone movie.
-
She sounds stupid (it was a stupid thing to say) and most likely IS stupid.
-
I could go on, but why?
I think the reaction of the reporter was “I know you… you’re Sharon Stone… you used to show your coochie in pictures. You used to be big…”
“My coochie still is big…it’s the movies that got small.”
God, these “Why isn’t <whatever> already pitted?” threads are idiotic. If you think it deserves a pit thread, just do it your goddamn self without whining about it, or fuck off.
I was going to make a reference to the Hollywood trend of, ahhm, reconstructive surgery but you win, panties down.
Fool of a Took! The Stone draws its power from attention! Gaze directly upon her, and she will linger the longer! Only by looking at nude pictures of Natalie Portman can we ensure her dissipation!
That was my first thought.
Given that she’s Sharon Stone it wasn’t the smartest way to express he feelings about policy but I gotta ask - Why no love for her?
She’s an actor, what difference does it make that she’s an “idiot”? It has no bearing on her job. I’ve met her. She seemed very normal and down to earth.
Or doesn’t.
A.) Because Sharon Stones are now seedless.
you poor dear, I obviously lured you in w/my clever non-descriptive thread title. of course this thread lets me gripe about both Sharon Stone and Why isn’t it already pitted?
You’re not addressing his point, of course. Why didn’t you just pit her and be done with it? Why this need to use your outrage to score points at the same time?
:dubious:
…and still missing the point.
The question is not “Why did you do both?” or “Why did you do both in one thread?”, the question is “Why do you bother doing the second one at all?”.
But millions of people have looked up Sharon … oh… "look up to Sharon… nevermind.
Yeah same stupidity as the Christian Right’s balming Katrina on New Orleans’ sinful ways, but by someone who has no following and no power. I may as well pit the crazy man on the street corner. Or Elvisl1ves. I mean who cares?
Why not?
Because the point of moral high ground is not just to give you a better vantage point from which to throw mud.
Outraged about something? Yeah, okay.
Outraged that other people aren’t paying enough attention to what you’re outraged about? Getting a little self-absorbed, there. There’s a lot of shit going on these days, and some of us may not have enough emotional energy to invest ourselves in whatever shit is interesting you at the moment.
Chastising people for not expressing the level of outrage you think appropriate for this particular issue? Get the fuck over yourself.
