Wii owners: check this out! (free games)

If you have the internet channel installed, point your browser at www.wiicade.com

Flash games optimized for the Wii controller and screen!

Old news? No gamers?

Bump?

Thanks, never knew about this.
I’ll check it out tonight if I can tear myself away from Castlevania IV on the Virtual Console.

I assure you that I’ll be revisiting this thread just seconds after I convince some store to actually sell one to me.

Be at Circuit City on State Street as soon as it opens on Sunday!

Also check out WiiPlayable.com while you’re at it.

Wait…you people have the Wii browser already? I don’t think I have it on mine… :frowning:

(I did an update yesterday and it said it was up to date.)

Neat! I’ll have to check that out tonight.

The Wii News Channel was up this morning. That was fun to play with.

Bouv, you have to download it through the wii store(it costs 0 points though).

Oooooohhh. I thought it would be automatic through the updates. Why did they do it that way? Did they think if it was automatic (like the news and weather channel,) people would get confused or something?

Because the browser will eventually be a pay-per-month service. Users who download the beta now, however, will be able to use the service for free for the lifetime of their Wii.

I think they did it that way because they’re eventually going to charge for it, so they have to run the download through the store.

Just to be clear, the Wii Opera browser (both the current beta and the final version) will be free until July 2007. After that, you will have to pay for it (once), just like any other Virtual Console download.

I have the beta, but I admit I don’t use it very often.

I’m happy with the browser, if only for the flash games and the occasional youtube video. Of course, I’ve had a media center PC hooked up to my TV for a while now, so surfing from my couch isn’t all that new anyway.

Oh yeah, and also check out Yatsha.com for a couple more web games. Apparently, most of these were actually specifically made for the Wii as opposed to just standard flash games.
