Will This Be The MMP

Gandalf sings opera?!?

I was having dreams sorta related to the class I took this week. Part of what we did involved color-coding areas of maps, and part of my dream had to do with looking at color-coded maps. Stoopit brain.

But it was nice and cool overnight - the house is still open. It won’t last long due to the predicted 90s, but I’ll enjoy it while I can.

Daughter’s eel has joined our aquarium, and he/she seems to have made him/herself right at home. It’s a hoot watching the other fish try to establish a pecking order or maintain claim on their personal nooks or crannies. But no one has bitten or eaten anyone else, so it’s fine… at least up till now…

I’ll be sewing today - finishing the ugly pants for my coworker, then making a few covers for the boat. I’ve been meaning to do winch covers for 2 years - guess it’s time. But first, when **FCD **drags out of bed, we’re going to have breakfast. We’ll see if slug-a-bed daughter will come along. Overall, tho, no huge plans - I’ll make it up as I go along.

So yesterday I got a little sunburned sitting in the back garden with my Dad in the afternoon. He was enjoying the fresh air after he escaped/was discharged from hospital. Then today it is freezing cold, raining, windy and will we likely have to put the heat on tonight. Good grief…English bloody summertime!

Dad is doing fine though that is the main thing. The rest of today will be spent being very very lazy methinks. I might eat chocolate also.

Grid wall panels are evil. Ok, well at least mine are dreadfully heavy.

Chalk me up to the weird dream crowd, too.

I am soooo glad that it’s the weekend, and Saturday to boot. :stuck_out_tongue: I slept in a bit this morning woo hoo!

Rebo, I totally empathasize with you about the nausea w/meds. Metformin has gotten to me a bit; I think it’s in combo with the strong antibiotic. I’ve also had a few dizzy spells. And the place on my shin still is not healing. sighs Next week it may be off to the vascular surgeon. :frowning:

I haven’t had any weird dreams lately … at least, none that I remember. LOL At any rate, I am up and caffeinating now; I’ve even had a bit of peanut butter on toast and will have a yogurt in a few minutes. I don’t have any plans for the weekend, mostly because it’s going to be in the 90s  I am hoping, however, to get some more reading of my Michael Connelly book in.

Enjoy your weekend, all! Smiley abuser this morning here.

Saturday morning LOL

Back from yahd work at the church house. We had a good crowd of folks show up. YAY! Lots of mowin’, trimmin’, hedge clippin’, window washin’ and other outside stuff got done. When I left, the back forty was bein’ mowed. That’s a one person job on the ridin’ mower that takes a couple of hours. The person doin’ it loves to use that mower so more power to him. I mowed the #*# ditch and picked up a bunch of limbs and hauled ‘em to the burn pile in twuck. I think a burn permit was gained just before I left. I leave that to the pyros who get off on burnin’ stuff.

Now, I’s all showered, got the outside cooker set up for later and it’s pool time!

I’m feeling better this morning. I slept all night (well, a few wakeups then back to sleep) and I’ve eaten a small breakfast. My glucose has been below 120 every time I’ve checked it! Yay for that!

I had weird dreams, too, but I can’t remember what they were about.

Laundry, grocery-list making, and shopping for a Father’s Day card are on the agenda today. Maybe that mani/pedi I didn’t go get done yesterday. I don’t know though - I’m still not very energetic and I have a headache.

Rosie - I like your LOL!

Have a good day, folks!

I’ve got a bunch of things to say, but they’re going to have to wait. I planted 6 or 7 plants as it started to rain. Now I’m all ready to go in to work for a while, then to one of the fun things I want to do this weekend. Not sure yet which thing, of course.

So, for the moment, rosie’s sig to all and a happy Saturday as well!

Hugs.

GT

I’ve showered and after letting my hair air dry for a bit, will head upstairs to dry and fix it up.

I’ll have to goad hubby into the shower too.

Stoopit rain. It’s all cool, rainy and dreary here. I can haz summer, please?

However, in just a couple few hours, my day will become much brighter, even without the sun!

Don’t you mean mower power to him? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, finally ready to get a move on. I called about my jewelry pieces parts and they’re sending out new ones via a different delivery service. I hope they make it this time!

Back from breakfast and picking up some stuff at the boat for our trip (dang - 2 weeks from today, we’ll be on vacation!!!) I’ve got to get some sewing done, daughter is taking the trash, and a little later, we’re all going out to find me a rain jacket for the trip. The foul weather gear at West Marine didn’t work. To get a jacket that would close over my hips, I ended up with sleeves that extended past my fingertips. Not good. So I’m just going to get a cheap waterproof jacket or poncho or something.

On to sew!!

Been to the dump, and [del]made hay[/del]mowed the yahd. It’s time to change mower blades, cuz my mower is mowhawking; it means a blade is bent.

But now, nap time!

BEEG boomers here last night. Lightning struck a home only a few blocks away, lots of trees down.

Today’s highlights include: library, some shopping for vacation clothes, a bike ride (88 and sunny, so lot’s of water!! ), home to perform some serious sloth, then off to our local fest to see a local cover band followed up by Eddie Money. Because the Park District commandeers my building as fest HQ (we’re across the road), I get a couple passes to the VIP/Sponsor tent, which is practically on the stage, includes free food a kegs of Stella.

I love summer.

Polar is home with us now.

The lab we wanted to bring home had been adopted apparently just before we got there this morning. I’m not surprised, and am glad he’s found a home.

We were going to bring home another Lab, Jack, but it turns out Polar has kennel cough and already has a vet visit at 2:30 this afternoon to get meds for it. The techs at the Humane Society went to see if they had meds, but didn’t. It’s all good, this vet visit is free and care up to $500.00 will be provided for free for a wellness visit, rabies shot and to ensure there aren’t other issues.

Polar is happily gnawing on a rawhide bone. He’s played an easy game of fetch with us too. We don’t want to rile him up too much, because he’s recovering from his neuter surgery. Hims needs a bath, but we can’t give him one for 10 days.

He sure does love me. He keeps trying to crawl up in my lap. All 68 pounds of furry cream and white happiness of him. Turns he he does have some blue in one of his eyes.

I need to put together some kind of lunch for my hubby. He’s whining.

Yay for getting Polar!

Still feeling a bit low, so I sent hubby to get a Father’s Day card. He’s so sweet - he was reading them to me so I could choose! The second was perfect.

I haven’t thrown up again, but I feel kinda blech. I sure hope this goes away soon.

I sure hope it goes away soon too, **rebo. ** Sending feel better vibes.

I found me a rain jacket - yay! We went to the Burlington Coat Factory in Waldorf - man, what a dump that store is - but at the end of the women’s jacket aisle, there were 2 rain jackets - one in my size in pink and one a size larger in lime green. I like pink, so I got pink. So YAY! Daughter was looking for a sun dress, but there really weren’t any nice ones in her size.

I just finished watering my planters out front, then I hooked up the soaker hose that’s feeding my forsythia. Speaking of which, I really should feed my forsythia. They’re doing great! I can’t believe how they went from sticks to thick so fast! But I got et alive out there - I’m apparently very tasty to skeeters. stoopit skeeters…

And that’s all I’ve got.

Yay for Polar!! Doncha love them heavyweight lap dogs??

My missing jewelry doo-dads have been found. So, I called the place and told them to cancel the replacement order and I talked to the same girl as the first time. What are the odds of that?
ETA: Apparently my mom found the package and brought it in and put it on… the couch. :dubious:

Yay for Polar! Where are the pictures?

I don’t know what they’ve done to Burlington, FCM. For years, I got all of my coats there and always had good choices. Last time I needed a new raincoat, I went there and bought a desperation coat, which I’ve wound up wearing much less often than my previous coats because it’s not very well made. Found a better one at the the thrift shop, actually.

Worked for about 3 hours with a break in the middle to go to North Market for lunch via the Pride Parade. Wow! That’s an enormous event! The parade was about an hour long and there were tons of people lining the route. (I took a break because it kept distracting me; my office looks out on part of the parade route.) It was really fun to watch.

Ran a few errands, including stopping at the Pepperidge Farm outlet for about 2 months’ worth of carbs.

Now I’m kinda tired, but I’ma have dinner and then do some laundry, I think. Yes…I know how to live.

Back later.

Here are some pics of Polar. They’re not very good because I didn’t edit them. I have a few on my cell phone too, but I need to get them into the computer first.

Back to playing with my new pal. He doesn’t let me out of his sight.
