Morning, people! Its so nice to be here, especially on a Monday. This is the last week my kids are in school before they go to day camp for the summer.
Since I work the 11:30 -8 shift, my wife cheerily says “Gee, honey, you’ll get to sleep late all summer.”

You see, what you don’t know is that my one bright shining moment of my day is taking my kids to school, playing with them, and getting my “have a great day at work, Daddy!” hugs. By the time I get home, if I can wolf down a cold plate of food in 15 minutes, I’ll get 15 sleepy minutes with them before they need to go to bed at the time when we are all the most tired and the least fun.
That’s tough. Maybe you can leave them little notes on their pillow or in their lunch box with questions or a little survey with boxes to check and expression of love.
At least that way maybe you won’t feel like you aren’t to distanced from them. That’s really tough.
I’m here at work and caffienating. I seriously debated just calling in, but as it turns out, it’s a good thing I didn’t. My co-worker’s daughter’s water broke just a bit ago, and so now co-worker is on her way to be with the daughter during labor and delivery.
It now falls to me to run all the dashboards. I hope they’re accurate. I’m not all here. Huuuuuuuuge headache, but I’m sure that’s just because of all the damn crying I did over the weekend, and yes, even this morning. I’m such a baby.
Hubby informed me, in front of our son no less, that he wants a puppy for Father’s Day. God help me, I love dogs, but I just wanted some time. Everyone tells me that it’s the best thing to get another one to share our love and home with, but I feel, I dunno, disloyal to my sweet Cappy. Please tell me I haven’t lost my mind because I feel this way.
Anyway, I guess I should dig into my work.

Taters, remember in Old Yeller how Travis didn’t take to the new puppy at first? What you’re feeling now is completely normal. Just takes a little time, doesn’t it? Well, that and a whiff of puppy breath. Greatest smell in the world outside of a bucket of KFC is puppy breath.
Well, I enjoyed a weekend of shooting pool, listening to loud Rock n’ Roll and sipping on some really fine whiskey. “At which bar?” you’re probably thinking. “And then you drove?” you’re probably thinking. Heh, nope, broke down and stuck a new table in the game room. Hooray for nice, safe, home grown hedonism.
Well, the cookies are done and I am thoroughly sick of them. I’m headed to a friend’s house very soon with some dough but the thought of eating one is completely ICK. I’m sure I’ll change my mind eventually.

gotti thanks for the tip re paint + primer. I had a feelin’ it’d be crap but was considerin’ givin’ it a try. Now I won’t. One of these days in the not too distant future the livin’ room, hall, guest room and study need a coat of paint. Which, of course, means the whole house will get painted because it is impossible to just paint part of a house.
LiLi cake has eggs and stuff so it’s kinda like an omelette which is IMO lunch food.
The feels like temp is 105! It’s only June, the hottest month of summer is still a month and a half away! I still don’t have my a/c thanks to frustrations with clerks and my bank account, now I will have to order it online, not sure how long it will take to get here. whimpers
Terrific!!! For the most part everyone played and worked well together, we didn’t get any of the predicted storms, after some last minute sweats one cannon did make it – all in all not bad at all. I even got to do some real blessings and chaplain chores! I hope to search for some pictures this week around the interweb or if someone wants to beat me to it, the clue would be “Cook Forest F&I” or something like that.
I’m supposed to be off running errands and I will in a minute. I counted up the change in my dad’s banks. He had over $40, and he probably has at least that much again in quarters in his room. Also found out where he can exchange it for folding money.
It is muggy today. So muggy that a guy from Texas commented on it. That’s way too much humidity. It rained for a few minutes, but the sun was out so that just made it worse.
What do I do this morning? Walk around downtown with a heavyish backpack on trying to find the computer parts recycling place so I can get rid of some dead speakers and random power cords to things I don’t have anymore. Never did find it. I ended up going to the Preferred Coffeeshop for a tempeh gyro and iced coffee and orange cupcake. I must have lost 15 pounds sweating out there.
Now back to my afternoon of reading* and working on my long neglected cross-stitch. I had a crochet project, but I’m going to shelve it to make some potholders once I get some more yarn. We need potholders.

Da cave is all tidied (tidyed?) up. Dindin is consistin’ of sammiches and what leftovers are in the fridge. It’s too hawt to do anything else plus I have Vestry Meetin’ this evenin’. Always a good time there. Show of hands all who believe that!
48°F, raining and blowing here, but yesterday was beautiful. 53°F and sunny. I spent the day on the deck planting flowers and then we had a grilled dinner of cheeseburgers, brats, corn on the cob, veggie kabobs and macaroni salad. It was a good family day.
My horrendous divorce was final on June 2nd, and I feel wonderful now. He moved his skank into his place (next door to me) and she came over to the deck to “make friends”. I told her that I simply want an uneventful summer. And he is gone for the summer fishing, so I don’t have to see his stupid face for awhile.
But things now are getting better for the kids and I. My son has a lot of anger toward his father, the skank and her kids. I feel sorry for her kids, as they are obviously very angry as well. What a mess.
On a happy note I am running away for two weeks. I am going to California to meet a guy I have been talking to online/by phone for over a year. My only expectations are for sunshine and fun company. I leave on Saturday, and I am getting excited!
I have to get busy for a bit, but I will check back in later. Play nicely children!
Things are looking better, it looks like the a/c I want is in stock at best buy and I can use my best buy card to pay for most of it so I can get my a/c and still pay other bills, sure I will probably end up paying more in the long run but I don’t care as long as I have some a/c.

The new software that we’re using to test the new hardware that we might buy is INFURIATING. I’m starting to think that the new hardware might be really really good (initial reports were so-so, but more testing is making it look better), but we’d really better find different software. ARHG!
