I overslept this morning because I woke in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep.
It’s hot and N.O.S. today.
The trash men didn’t take the recycling yesterday. We didn’t put it out last week because the can was only half full, now we’ll have to fit 3 weeks worth of trash in it.
Granny’s funeral went as well as such things go. Everyone was invited back to her house after the service, I’ve never seen that house so full of people. One thing that surprised me was how upset I got by seeing people sitting in my grandmother’s and grandfather’s usual spots.
After dealing with all that, yesterday morning right as I was getting out of bed my mother-in-law calls me to say she’s in the ER with chest and arm pain. Right now it looks like it wasn’t a heart attack, but rather a drug interaction that caused a blood pressure spike.
So today is playing catch up at work, while praying for the rest of the month to be uneventful.
{{{Rio}}} hope your MIL is better today. I understand about your grandparents’ spots. It’s weird to go in my mom’s house and know she won’t be comin’ out of her bedroom or sittin’ in her chair in the livin’ room. My father has been dead over thirteen years and it’s still kind of weird to sit or see someone sit in the place he always sat in the livin’ room or dinin’ table. Strange how stuff like that stays in our minds.
Now I need some N.O.L. and to suit up to funeralize in a while.
Oh yeah, then 'splain pizza to me. You can have it for lunch, dinner, or even cold for breakfast the next morning! Go ahead, 'splain that to me. Betcha can’t!
There was one person who signed the condolence book at the funeral home who we never could figure out who they were. It’s not that we couldn’t read the name, it’s just that no one living recognized the name. The family thought & thought, & finally came up with the answer:
We decided they were a professional funeral goer; just showed up to random funerals & expressed their condolences. Swampy, you’re retired & got the time. No one to supervise or boring online training to [del]play solitaire[/del] sit thru. Just sayin’.
Howdy Y’all! Home from funeralizin’ Liz. 'Twas a nice service. She always wore a red golf cap so that red golf cap was atop of the box that holds her cremains. Made everyone smile. When the Pall was placed over the box, the red cap was placed on top of the Pall to be borne into the church for the service. I loved that!
Spidey have I ever mentioned Funeral Frank? Funeral Frank is this man in Ye Olde Home Towne who, I swear, must go to every funeral within a fifty mile radius. When one sees Funeral Frank, the first thing he talks about is how many funeral he’s been to in the past week or so. Now that’s a professional funeral goer!
Yes, and since I am such an awesome boss my help stays around for a long time thus I have not had much experience. I took myself out of the scoring panel though I sat it and asked a few questions. I wrote all the questions and will have the ultimate say so but I recused myself cause a current employee is trying for a full time spot. And she will get it because she already works here and thus is the most qualified but I have me doubts. I need to have a come to Jesus meeting with her as she will be on probation for a year and I want to air out some grievances I have. So we can have a fresh start and all.
Talk about diversity? Why yes, let do. We had a Morman, a resident alien Asian, a lesbian and the white bread dumb ass. I had one more that was no response and just guessing from her name and country of origin she was probably Islamic. We chose the dumbass and the lesbian. My, how times have changed.
I dread the process so much because one can make oneself sound real good on paper and in a half hour interview and be someone else entirely in real life. This was my day besides the time I tripped up on my own feet and fell down in my office. Much swearing ensued but I am fine. May have a bruise or two tomorrow but that is nothing new. I am delicate after all and clumsy.
I decided that supper tonight would be whatever, and I made myself what used to be one of my favorite sammiches - cream cheese and peanuts! It wasn’t nearly as good as I remember - maybe my taste buds have evolved past it. I’ll have some fruit later, because it’s healthy, dammit!
We have ingested the General’s dindin. ‘Twas good and I’s stuffded. We are also in the midst of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig tstorm with lots of rain. I have a feelin’ I may not be able to mow in the mornin’ because it looks like it will rain for three or four more hours on the radar. I won’t be able to mow Thursday so it may be Firday before mowage gets accomplished. Such is life.
Butters glad it was not a bad owie and here’s hopin’ the new minion will be a good one. My last minion actually took my position when I retired. She was that good and able to jump right in and keep things goin’.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) to a dog entering the kitchen: “The dog came back.”
Me: “The cat came back, the very next day!”
Mrs Plant (v.3.0) “The little M----r F----r just wouldn’t stay away!”
emily, so C and Bflat. (assuming a Bflat instrument)

Ouch butters.
Called for a hair appointment next week. My stylist just got divorced, so I was wondering if she would have to take a job that included bennies for her and her kids. Nope. Then I talked to Sis. She, BIL and Nelson will be here the weekend of the 29th.
Ice cream has been ingested. And I watered the planters on the front porch. I should dump some water on the ones out back, too. Guess I’ll get on that.
I was productive at work. I took a nap after walking Gordie. I could out my firend Everett died last night.#fuckcancer (Ruble might remember him. Bald, beard, one leg, but coudl outrun everybody else to the next bar with tequila.:D)
Spdiey, I’m not a lesbian, but like one, I do prefer women.:D:p
Today went OK. Higher volume but I was with good people both shifts and some fun was had in the process of working hard. Dinner was tomato soup and rice of “blood and maggots” as my Gramma always called it.
I abhor anything with with cream cheese but peanuts poured imto a real coke bottle is to die for.
How I came knowimg my new hiree,if she exceptsis is I spoke with her on the phone to set up the interview. She only arrived last Sunday and I asked today what branch her husband serves with. She answered she is Navy. Lesson learned. From now on it will be spouse. i Our country.
