The saga continues - my tablet is still going to be delivered by the end of the day yesterday. :rolleyes: I got an email from FedEx overnight saying they’re working on it. If it doesn’t show up today (HAH) I’m going to have to have it sent to LaPlata so I can pick it up. I don’t think there are any places closer where you can do that. I’ll have to check.
I did send a message to the seller and they called last night, but I’d left my phone in another room and by the time I got to it, they’d hung up, but they left a voice mail. I’ll try calling later.
Meanwhile, leftover pizza has been ingested for breakfast. Today, I have to empty the dishwasher, clean the critter fountain, and help **FCD **load stuff in the truck for a dump run. And laundry, of course. Always laundry. The rest of the day will be a surprise.
Heard back from FedEx on FB. The local deliverer isn’t open on Sun or Mon. They’ll deliver on Tuesday. I am NOT taking off work to wait for a delivery that may or may not come. I was directed to their website where my only options for having it left elsewhere won’t work - leaving it at my back door is useless if I’m not there to sign for it as I’m supposed to be. There’s no way to redirect it to my office.
Oh, I can drive to the center to pick it up - something over 50 miles one way. Nope, not gonna happen. I told them to send it back and I’ll buy from someone who uses UPS.

In other news, the dishwasher is emptied, I’m showered and dressed, first load of laundry is in the washer, and I’ve vacuumed up enough hair to build a cat.
It’s raining. So much for the planned ride today. There’s a load of towels in the washer and I’m breakfasting/caffeinating. Depending on what the rain does today, I may putter in the studio or go out and about.
Howdy Y’all! Back from mowage of the back forty over to the church house. OK, been back for a bit but I’ve showered and had N.O.L. ‘Tis really hawt out and since I spent a long time out in the heat this mornin’ I am fore goin’ quality cee-mint pond time for a/c. I forgot to mention earlier but late this afternoon we are goin’ up to the nursin’ home in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja to celebrate JDD’s mother’s 93rd birthday which is today. Cake is reason enough to make the trip.
**FCD **wanted food for lunch, so we went to Cracker Barrel. He got the catfish dinner and I got a salad that was grossly overloaded with cheese and little romaine cores. belch.
I contacted FedEx one more time about changing the delivery address and they said I had to have the shipper do that. So I just emailed the shipper and asked them to reroute it to my office. I hope this is the end of it.
There are 4 loads of laundry on the line that need to come in, so I guess I need to get at it.
As far as I can tell it is hot and N.O.S outside. I haven’t so much as stuck my head out the door so I can’t say for sure.

Not much going on today. Irk of course, and running Sah-son’s clothes through the washer for the second time today. He left them in there for 3 days and the funk was quite strong. I told him I’d do it for him since all I had to do was add a little oxyclean.
The light at the top of the stairs burned out. He is nervous about standing on a ladder at the top of the stairs, can’t say I blame him since I once fell off a ladder at the top of the stairs. Fortunately I fell into the bathroom instead of down the stairs.
However, it needs to be done.
My physician assures me that if I fall from a ladder I will break my neck, and Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) will get all my stuff. The mortgage on the rental house will be paid off this month.

Yep, I’ve got my tablet, and I wrote back to the sellers to tell them I got it so they could ignore my last email. The guy who brought it commented that he didn’t know why he couldn’t find our house yesterday. I don’t know either - most GPS units seem to find it just fine, based on the number of people who have made it here.
Leftover pizza has been ingested and my new toy is charging, per the quick start guide. According to the pamphlet, it’s got Google Chrome installed. I intend to put Firefox on it. We shall see how that goes, but I can’t do anything till it’s done charging. Last I checked, it was at 60%.
And while the charging continues, I’ll make more punkin’ wig bases. If I use up the yarns I’ve picked for the bases, I’ll start adding tresses to the bases. I figured out a super simple way to make them and I’ll be sending it along to Butters. I’ll need to get **FCD **to take pics of me doing certain steps because it’ll be clearer than trying to describe what to do, especially for a rookie crafter.

sari, my dad always kept two 2"X12"X16’ braced together out in the garage for replacing the stairway light, replacing the battery in the smoke detector there and when the whole mess needed new wallpaper/paint. Essentially, it was homemade portable scaffolding.Since it spit rain all day, I made a trip to Old Tyme Pottery today. Got 50% off on the Lodge skillet and lid that I went there for, 25% off some Kong treat toys for Nelson and a few small items for the kitchen. Managed to escape for under $ 35. I also got a coupon for 20% off next trip. I’m thinking a cast iron stove top griddle.
