Will This Be The MMP???

Pizza was dinner; I’m thinkin’ MsRobyn is having some very fresh roast beef.

Today’s ear worm is Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s Ulysses.

Dogbutt, Webbreath, Swampy, this is poetry. You might remember it from High School, if you got that far.
:dubious:

Some work of noble note, may yet be done,
Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods.

Swampy, while he was no doubt smart enough to make it to HS, he is a Southerner, & I am therefore concerned may have been granted an “F” in Ulysses. :dubious:

You know, I’m a life long Kansan and I still have never enjoyed summer weather… It’s too damned hot and muggy. I spent a total of six years, out of sixty-two out of state, and three of those were in hot summer places. I swear, South Korean had weather exactly like Kansas, I couldn’t escape. And I was there during the Bicentennial Year, which pisses me off as I had a miserable summer and missed all the holiday hoopla.

Grumble, grumble, blurf. It’s been so hot and humid. I paid my nephew to mow the lawn, he’s making money for his trumpet, and just general stuff. Would you believe I’m also afraid of mowing? I know it sounds stupid but the idea of pushing around something with sharp spinning blades creeps me out.

And sari, I also don’t blame sah-son for being nervous about replacing the light. Shudder

Today is my one week anniversary with Mauser. As I write he’s curled up in the doggy bed I bought him. I’d thought he was going to ignore it, but the last couple of days he’s started using it.

swampy, eating dessert first is important. And you have to get in practise, someone else has a birthday in two weeks, and he will be sixty-three!

A second day of sleeping past 6AM!! Of course, staying up later had something to do with it.

Today’s plans include mowage, then a trip into Fredericksburg where **FCD **plans to buy yet another toy for his shop - a cutoff saw. It’s heavy enough that we’ll have to take the trailer, since getting it in and out of the truck will be nigh on impossible. Anyway, we’ll time it to have lunch in Fredburg, and on the way back, we’ll stop at the Food Lion in Dahlgren so I won’t have to go to Leonardtown. Exciting, right?

Temps are actually in the 60s at the moment, but it won’t last. Still, we should have mowage done before it hits 80, and that’ll be good.

Happy Sunday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 89 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. Today’s plans are to deheathenate, have N.O.L. at <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> and not much else. I have steaks thawin’ as tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today.

Mebbe you come North in one year.

My stomach hurts so I’m staying home with a brief foray to the barn to replenish Miss A’s supplements. Chicken soup is on the menu if I feel like eating.

Mowage complete, as is showerage. We’re having a quick breakfast before heading to Fredburg - we’ll have lunch there.

Temps were still in the low 70s while we were mowing, but I still worked up a sweat that a cool shower was hard-pressed to cool down. But I’m getting there.

Here’s a question - is it possible to download free ebooks without giving your credit card number? Google Play demands an account number, and I’m not comfortable with doing that - they don’t need to have my info in their cloud.

By a play giftcard in the smallest amount & upload that. Yeah, I don’t know why you need payment info on file for something that’s free either. :smack:

If you’re downloading from Google Play, probably not*. You can try the author’s website, they may have an alternative way to download the book. Once you have a copy, you can upload it to Google, and always have access to it
*A workaround would be to get a prepaid credit card from a drugstore and load it with a few dollars. Anytime that someone wants a credit card number from you, use that one.

**Rio **- a prepaid card is a good idea. I never thought of that.

My bro gets ebooks from the library and I found out it’s a state-wide program. So I’ll be stopping at the library and getting a card (don’t judge - I’ve been meaning to do it…)

Moooom, don’t forget that you can check out e-books from the library.

baker, my late Uncle Roy always said that the winter weather in Korea reminded him of northern Indiana.
*
I’m up and caffeinating. Getting ready to purtify *and go have more coffee with the Freethinkers. I hope to get in a ride today before getting stuff ready for next week and fixing supper.

eta: Moooom beat me to the punch on the liberry thing.

Project Gutenberg.

Miss Pepper got up at 4, 5, 6, and 7. She went back to sleep until 7 though, so we’re making progress. I’ll take it! Right now she is roaming the downstairs of her kingdom, looking for something new to chase or tear apart. The cats have pretty well taught her that chasing them is a non-starter, so things are not as entertaining as she had hoped. I will be throwing her dog soccer ball in a moment.

Happy Sunday!

Well, I’m heading up to Pa. next August.

Where? It’s a big state, with some scary parts.

Valley Forge area.

And Ruble’s not so bad. He’s just curious and wants to axe you.

That’s my areaish.

…& I just got a call (& VM) from Nanna Nancy…except I’m not Derek…& don’t have a Nanna Nancy. :smack:
