We decided to do Cracker Barrel for supper because my sweetie wanted catfish. I came home to a notification from Facebook that someone in Alabammy tried to access my account. Anyone I know??? hmmmmmmmmm
Password changed, so there’s that. And supper was good - I got the haddock. Time now for chillage.
Dinner tonight is Cuban Rice (sort of). Tried to open a bag of frozen pies to toss in and managed to launch those little suckers all over the kitchen. The dogs thought it was a wonderful idea. Me, not so much.
Yes Sunny, I have it on good authority that Bobbio was a big supporter of the Cheeto Bandito[sup]TM[/sup]. Personally I had him pegged as a con man from the first time I saw him, but I’m a cynic, (and I’ve met a lot of con men in my time.)
It’s 30 outside right now, supposedly heading for ~24 tonight, but still not snowing. Weather guessers are saying precip of some kind Sat. afternoon now. Our Costco trip got put off til Sat., so we’ll see. :dubious:
At a break in the contentious negotiations, the two gentlemen walk into the restroom to relieve themselves. The first finishes his business & walks over to the sink where he starts to wash his hands. The second finishes, zips up, & starts to walk out when the first one says, “At Yale, they teach us to wash our hands after we urinate.”
The second one replies, “At Haaavard, they teach us not to pee on our hands.”
::looks askance at metalmouse::
I’m lying in bed watching the news & starting to doze off last night when the device pings that I have a new email. It only shows senders name & subject line in the notification. The senders name is the adult daughter of a good friend of mine, who is starting treatment for cancer. The subject line is her mom’s name. While I have met daughter on a few occasions, she doesn’t live at home & I’ve never had any contact with her w/o Mom being present.

[li]Late at night email from someone I know but didn’t even know she had my email address.[/li][li]Subject line is her mom’s name.[/li][/ul]
Ohhhh F, this isn’t good. I immediately open the email to read it; turns out she’s doing a fundraiser for the specific type of cancer her mom has for which I have no problem contributing. Moral is carefully word your subject line when you’re sending emails to people you don’t normally send them to.
Got an email today from boss of p/t job; the latest round of cuts affects our group, including his #2. This was my dream job, as in if I ever heard R was leaving, I was applying for that position immediately. Sadly, I won’t get the chance, & more importantly, R needs to find new employment. As far as I know, this is only second employer with the first rising thru the ranks to cat officer. No, not felines, but pulting USN aeroplanes off a carrier. Two of the coolest jobs ever; I wonder what’s next in the career?
Notification also included the ‘retirement’ of two of his lieutenants & his boss & grandboss. Yeah, it’ll be an interesting year with all of the shakeups.
Home safe and sound. The roads are getting interesting; enough snow to slick up but not enough for traction. Luckily I hit them at an off time and basically could drive my our speed and distance.
Hordes of Black women surrounding the steam table, waiting for chicken and blocking access to other steam tables.
It was ugly, and I refuse to go back.
It is forecast to be cold and snowy tonight in Arkansas.
Weather prediction is not a science, it is a Black Art.
This is only the second post ever from this tablet. Please pardon the typos or lack of periods and such. To answer **sunny,s/B] question as to why i went from IPad to android. Twas because iPad had a broke screen that got progressively worse until an entire section of the screen was not responding. Seeing as how hubby handed down this not too cheap Samsung I am forced to use it or come out of pocket for a new IPAD. I guess in time I will get used to this until I can’t take it anymore
Today was worse than yesterday stress wise. I am not impressed with 2017 thus far plus my car battery died. I took my frustrations out on my staff which was wrong but come on. I am busting my ass with deadlines and you guys are sitting around playing on your phones? Not today! Didn`t even have to ask. Windows were cleaned and general tidying up was done. funny how a sour puss mood is palpable. Karma won though cause my car failed to start. Time for a new battery.
Here’s hoping for a better tomorrow plus I am getting sick. I hope this was not as painful to read as it was to type.
Crazy busy at work(first of the month ,plus :eek:SNOWPOCALYPSE!) But I got cold beer, a warm[del]puppy[/del]decrepit old teerier, and hockey on the tube.
Butters, I like my android tablet. Iffn you don’t like the keyboard on it, there are other ones you can download from the play store.
What’s her eye condition that she overestimates the size of objects? :o
I got an unsolicted email from a recruiter, “I received your contact from a referral…<for this positon>”, which happens to be outside of San Diego.
I replied, “Just curious, who referred me for a position almost 3000 miles from where I live?”
We’ll see if I get a response from the recruiter.:dubious:
Oh, almost forgot to tells ya, I got my other new monitor at irk.
I am eating an entire box of peppermint bark. I do not mean to eat the entire box of peppermint bark, but it is here and, well, chocolate.
'Beamer needs glasses. I suspected as much, what with the daily headaches. He refuses to wear glasses. :smack: We are compromising (as in I am putting my foot down - no video games, iPad, TV or other fun of any kind unless). He will wear glasses at home and we’ll see how it goes from there. We just fought for an hour about how he would never be able to get all of his homework done tonight. place hand across forehead Woe is me. The world is unfair. Everyone hates me. I’ll never have any fun again. assume fainting position on couch Now that he has finally started, I think he will finish a WEEK’s worth in 45 minutes. The stinker. I am exhausted. I will now go drink my new gin (Walther’s Collective Gin, local company, I’ll update you later) and Fentiman’s tonic. First impressions, very citrussy. I am not complaining. Might have to switch my candy choice though. Not sure peppermint goes with gin.
Butters I shall keep my eyes open for a replacement iPad for you.
We got the barest bit of precip overnight - I saw a few flakes on the frozen deck furniture cushions, but the roads were mainly just wet. (Not that it mattered to the moron going below the speed limit in front of me…) HOWEVER, the storm coming up from NC and VA may or may not pose a problem tomorrow. The line between <1" and 3"+ seems to be around Leonardtown, which is about 6 miles south of our house. If the storm drifts north, we could get the accumulation. Granted, it’s not a blizzard, but coupled with the sub-freezing temps, it could make for slippery driving. So we shall see…
I had a terrible night - kept waking, couldn’t get comfortable, kept looking at the clock and figuring how much more sleep I could get before the alarm - all in all, not restful. We’ll see how I do today. I want to swing by WalMart on my way home, but if the locals go into pre-snow-panic-mode, I’ll opt out. It’s not that I need to get the few items, but since it’s just a slight detour, it would save me a trip another time. But I’m not going to fight crowds of crazies for some ibuprofen and fish oil capsules.
Afternoon, mumpers! I went to bed ridiculously early last night but did get a better chunk of sleep than the night before. My cough is less of a bark than it was, and I am feeling a bit less wooly-headed (that could also be down to more sleep).
Tonight I will be braving the 6pm SoCariba class at the gym to see if that persuades my germs to pack up and go.
No sign of the S stuff here, we are heading for milder temperatures this weekend although we are promised the R stuff instead.
Hey, it ain’t me spidey; as I told FCM on her Facebook page, I wouldn’t know how to hack a computer if you spotted me the ‘h’, ‘a’ and ‘c’. 'k?
Cold this morning, but no snow to report in North Ali-bama land; maybe s dusting this afternoon, evening, so I expect the stores will be busy (I’m from and learned to drive in N. Ohio, so snow does not bother me as it does many southerners).
Put my deposit money down for a second part of my vacation; the first part is a Baltic cruise, the second will get me an escorted bus tour of Copenhagen and Oslo along with Stockholm. So two weeks in July are spoken for and I add 4 more countries and another airport to my list.
Anyone know the best way to get rid of industrial-level toilet stains (rings)? We’re talking the type of thing only a lazy bachelor or a platoon of Marines on duty would tolerate…
Ever watch shows like “COPS”? They have hi-def video of the perpetrator; they catch him with the stolen goods in his pocket, & of course he says, “Nope, wasn’t me; you got the wrong guy.” Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt; knowwhatI’msayin’. :dubious:
I had a tough decision when it came to snow removal this morning, snow shovel…or just a broom.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 57 and rain this afternoon and evenin’. A look at the map shows rain on the way. North Jawja is under a Winter storm watch. Ye Olde Hometowne is predicted to get one to three inches of the “s” word.
I slept in until almost seven-thirty! Imagine! No big plans for the day except I shall make some chawklit chip pee-kahn cookies. I set N.O.B. out to soften so I guess I am committed now. OYKW wants GC for dindin. Honestly, if’n it does get rainy I hope he’ll change his mind.
BooFae glad you’re feelin’ better.
Butters here’s hopin’ for a better day today.
Bumba I imagine the dawg was happy what with there bein’ a bag of pies all over the floor.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I shall purtify bein’ as one should be presentable even if one is at home and in tshirt and pajama pants.
