We still have snow here from yesterday, but it was just a dusting.
I’m still feeling the grumpies.
The dog got his new bed and is finally sleeping on it. It’s really a mattress pad, but I got it on sale for $14 marked down from $50. His old one is shredded and I’m debating throwing it out. But he gets upset when I’m washing it and he can’t find it, so having a spare is good for that. Finding a place to store the spare is a pain. I’m trying to get rid of stuff, not keep more of it.
The dog and cat are starting to interact a bit. The dog is sniffing the cat and the cat is rubbing up against the dog. Then the cat rolls in the floor in front of the dog and the dog has no idea the cat is there and walks into him.
Hope things are getting better for you Butters
Congrats on new job TP
Trip sounds nice MetalMouse
It’s gonna get into the single digits tonight, brrrr.
I’m looking forward to church on Sunday. The Sunday school kids are doing an Epiphany procession, to celebrate the arrival of the Magi to honor the birth of Jesus. It’ really done in a splendid fashion. The costumes are good, and to make things grand adults dress up and some of the “kings” are carried in procession. Theire are canopies and liturgical style umbrellas held over the kings. But when they approach the child those are taken away and they kneel.
One of my first Sunday School students was once carried as a king, now he’s taller than me. Where does the time go?
HOME FINALLY! Tis so hard to irk sick. This new tablet is gonna take some getting used to. I miss my iPad.
Mooommmmm we has Cracker Barrel on our trip to GA and hubby had the catfish. He said it was very good and told me why farm raised fish are so much better than they used to be. I had the sampler platter which was meatloaf, country ham, and chicken dumplings with 3 sides plus bread. Way too much food. Of course, we do not have a CB here nor a GC. I love both.
**FCD **decided he wanted Salsa’s for supper - yay!! We had to wait a little bit, but not too long. Now we’re home in veg mode.
Tomorrow, I’m gonna build a big pot of veggie-beef soup. Yum! I may even get out the bread maker and bake a loaf to go with the soup. I think that’s a plan.
We’re supposed to see 11° on Sunday morning, but on Weds, they’re predicting 57°, and 60° next Firday. The weather, it is insane!
Posts are going poof so I shall post in snippets. New battery was $150. I was shocked as I figured $50 to $75. Hubby took care of it though and knowing him he bought the best.
Congrats on new gig TP and thanks all for the hugs. This was the worst week ever during our busy time.
All you Sickies feel better soonest including me. Keep warm and stay in if you can.
Rosie’s sign to all.
.
Cold and rainy out. A good night to be inside and warm. A lot of folks have had power restored which is good but there are still hundreds without power. Some shelters have opened and all the local hotels are full. So grateful to have power and heat tonight. I mentioned French toast tomorrow mornin’ and excitatement ensued. Guess I’m committed to makin’ it now.
One of my clerks was active duty Navy who met and fraternized with a AD Navy officer. They are married now but both were forced to get out of AD.This was about 5 yrs ago. Love is strange .
Now I want French Toast
Or you can return it for credit and never tell the sender. Amazon is good that way. ![]()
I sympathize. In CA, we were similarly equipped.
I love these things. Kids can’t hear what we’re listening to. Hubby can stay up late iff’n he wants to. Wonderful inventions.
Feel better! {{{hugs}}}
We are at Outback (kiddos favorite place). We had to drive to Salem for a medical test for hubby. Then it’s home for laundry and tv. Living the high life.
Yay on the new job TP!
I hope you’re feeling better soon, butters.
I knocked off an hour early today. After irk, I headed to Kroger to compete with all of the French toast folks to buy some comestibles. There was nothing left in the hot deli, the TP was down to the crap brands, and it was a general madhouse in there. At least there wasn’t a run in the produce department.
Now I’m chilling and fixing to have some quality studio time. It’s supposed to get down to 14F tonight. Brrrrr. If it isn’t too cold tomorrow, I may go to a meetup of women my age that are seeing a movie together.
Stay warm!
I workws, came home and napped. Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel is in Raleigh, so you know the weather is gonna be bad.
Congrats, TP!
red, Kroger here was a madhouse. Luckily I was just buying beer and bacon.![]()
sari, Gordie likes to sleep on a towel ,so storage is not an issue.
The service at Outback is terrible.
I did not stay at irk tonight because driving home in the first band of snow almost sent me into a panic attack. Irish Storyteller came home shortly after I did and used his HR skillz to articulate the Bad Feeling I was having about driving back to Tourist Trap.
I’m going to get a stern talking-to at irk next week, but at least I’ll be alive to hear it. It’s getting bad out there.
By the way, if you go see A Monster Calls, bring several boxes of tissues. Why? Well let me tell you what the trailers do not: it’s about a boy coming to terms with his mother’s impending death. And then she dies. It’s a good movie to see exactly once.
It’s an APO. APO, AE, US it says on my report.
doggio there was already a six pack in the fridge, but the bacon and aigs were slim pickins. Figures, they go well with french toast.
What does it mean, “AD”?
[Rosie]Stop that![/Rosie]
If you really love it, keep it for a spare. 30some years ago I got one we really love and picked up a second on clearance. I used it for a gift and now after all these years ---- and so it goes.
On an unrelated note next Thursday irk start time changes to 4:30 so my evenings are totally shot.
And also of little interest, the new (to me) vintage meat cleaver I got on eBay arrived. It is very cool; probably from a farm or hunting camp (you can tell from where the corrosion is) and has this cool makers mark of a J in an eight pointed star. I am so happy I could go squeeeee!!! Wait — I just did.
It’s worse to find out he’s evacuating from the area.
Stayed home sick today, DH may have to handle car dealer trip without me tomorrow (minor recall service, plus get a second key programmed). Hate the itchy throat.
Iffn you get up early, & are facing the sun, North is to your left. There, now you is orientated. ![]()
Conga-rats on the new employment.

Active Duty. In other words they were forced out of the military.
I am sooooooooooooo sick. I cannot express how sick I am. I woke unable to breathe.
Head is all stuffed up and it hurts to cough. I really should have saw the Dr.yesterday. I hope I will live until Moanday.
