Will you pronounce your screen name please?
I’ve been saying Sat-TO-ah
Yeah. The spelling I used is the less common one. It’s also written “sattva”.

Incase someone hasn’t figured it out yet…

Bats - in - ma - Belfry. I used “ma” instead of “my” because I thought “Batsinmy” looked like it should be pronounced with a short “y”.

This thread makes me feel like an idiot. I’ve been misreading most of the usernames.

I thought he named himself after the singer.
I did name myself after him. I was just (humorously?) giving the pronunciation and simply stopped at explaining how the words fit together. He got it from the penalty-phrase too.
I’ve always mentally said it like the Elvis song - you’re never just “viva lost wages”, but “Viva… lost wages!”
Well, that’s cool…I like being sung about.

kiz-arr-VEX-ee-us

(Not quite as pretentious as it sounds)

You’re about the first person I had correct. I keep waiting for Jodi to come back and tell us it should be pronounced jah-DYE or something.

I was saying Saa-Chew-Ah! Waay off.

“On gaudy”

“They say the neon lights are bright, on gaudy…”

Mine’s obvious. If you like, you can sing it.

RAH suh

Sanskrit, not Spanish or Latin!

The highest guna!

I doubt mine is too hard, but for the Hades of it, the “IMF” portion is pronounced like imp, but with an “f” instead of the “p” at the end…

(Or, to take a longer route, “Her Royal Incredible Missing Friend-ness” would do as well.)

I was about to say, give that girl a prize… when I realized that I don’t know your gender. Oops!

Pronounced like the respective words are pronounced. Drain. Bead.

Can’t let this one pass without acknowledgment: I LOL’d.

+1 laugh

thanks for the morning giggle.

thren-oh-dee-ain-jel-fie-yuh
I thought the real Roland pronounced it “Orthabl”.

A Darkness At Sethanon?
Nope … The Mammoth Hunters. What can I say … I was 16 when I picked it as my username for damned near everything.

Cor blimey, yet another word the Americans pronounce wrong

“storm-hawk” or “stərm-hawk”. Some people say “stərm-haOOK”, but that’s just silly.

See, stormhawk was the original spelling, back in the BBS days. I took the name from a Star Destroyer in one of the Heir to the Empire books. Once the modern Internet got going, there were several other stormhawks about. I was into heavy metal at the time, so I went with a pseudo-German misspelling, not really thinking about the pronunciation. It just kinda stuck.

Rye-sto

Long i, short o.

Lev drakon, pronounced by Americans would come out about the same way you’d say “lev bacon.”

If you want to be proper, say it like lyev draKONE. Say it like a good Russian.

Oops. I’d always been thinking it was pronounced “Drain Bed.”
