Yay, we’re a guild! Thanks to Darkhold for organizing all of us. Maybe his title should be Chief Ferret Herder.
I checked out the tabard site, and here’s my suggestion for a tabard design:
Sorry it’s so tiny. But I agree, no hurry.

I know this is about the guild and I’m not on your server… but what do you guys think of the game?
I’m on a PvP server and am loving life. I just hit lvl 29 and I’d probably be higher except that I keep fighting those demon horde…
Sorry, I just can’t pass up a good battle… I am glad I picked a PvP server though. Worrying about the Horde kicking my butt adds some extra suspense.
My cats have been annoyed that they’re not getting all the attention lately, and I’ve been having dreams about finding new patterns for my Tailoring skill and stuff like that. I think that makes me a WoW junkie.
That’s nothing…the other day when I was driving to work, I kept trying to find the auto-Follow button to follow the car ahead of me so I wouldn’t have to steer and accelerate.
I think we need a new thread for “You know you’ve been playing too much WoW when…”
I want to thank all you guys for sending me magic items and cloth. My skill is advancing faster than I can keep up, heh. I can make plain and red wool bags with 8 slots, and some decent cloth armor for casters. I also have most of the minor enchantments I think, and a couple lesser ones. If anyone needs stuff let me know so I can use up all these ingredients clogging my bank
You’re welcome.
As an alchemist/herbalist, I’m having a hellacious time finding recipes. I haven’t received a single one from my trainer since I was like 50 (I’m now 114), and they are rarely drops and seem very rare on the auction block.
Although, funny story (well, maybe not that funny), I logged on this morning solely to check the auctions, and there are three potions. One skill level 60, the other two 120. I don’t know any of them. Only one has a buyout, and that’s 1g (!). So I bid on the other two. And am immediately outbid.
Long story short, I spent 15 minutes with this guy, each of us running back and forth from the auction house to our mailbox to get our money back so we could go re-bid. The level 60 potion went from 10s to 90s.
Finally I said “fuck it”, and spent the 1g on the buyout recipe.
Of course, I can’t use it yet. But that gives a sense of how hard it is to get skill points in alchemy.
There are like 6 bajillion patterns and engineering shit, but no recipes. Except for cooking. Yawn.
Moral of the story: Support your guild’s alchemists! Please send us potion recipes or ingredient drops (large venom sac, deviate fish). Or if you happen to be at auction, check the recipe filter and let us know if anything’s up for bid.
I think Ragesong and me (Norolis) are the only alchemists in the guild.
And let us know your needs.
Of course, right after posting this I did a little research on WoWVault and realized I’m just not hitting the right trainer to get some better recipes.
Oh well, who needs money anyway?
Well our only problem child left the guild today so we’re short an engineer. If nobody else wants to take that profession I’ll take it with my alt character.
I like to think of this moment not as losing a leech but as gaining a jerk free guild.
ps, no he was not a doper and the only other non-doper we have is actually a very decent guy
If I were to create a character on Thunderhorn, what would be a good class for the guild?
I don’t think we have a rogue yet. I’m having fun with my human rogue miner/engineer. Stealth is especially handy for getting to those well guarded mineral veins.
Actually, Minosis isn’t a Doper either, but I’m working on that. With a crowbar to the kneecap. Wait, did I say that out loud?
Last time I checked, we also don’t have a Warlock other than my alt.
Some of us got together at the tabard maker to try out designs, but Darkhold had to go to some mysterious place called “work”. Here’s a screenshot of the tabard on my evil self, what do you guys think? Hmm, on second thought the background looked more orangey in the game than in that screenshot. Those of us that were there liked orange better than red.
That’s not a bad design, although I’ve never been a huge fan of orange as a color, and it doesn’t quite seem menacing enough for us evil Dopers with the guild name Burning Dog Legion.
By the way, this is going to sound really really dumb, but I’ve been a registered member here for years (since like 1999 or 2000 - previously under a different username). And I do not get the SDMB reference that our name implies. All the other suggestions I got, but not the one we finally decided on. Anyone wanna fill me in?
My one and only character is a warlock, so that’s out. I guess I’ll do a rogue, I think they’re more melee oriented so it’ll be a good change of pace from the warlock. I’ll probably create one tonight then.
Heh it’s weird everyone agrees on the icon/border and nobody agrees on the colors. I think it might just come down to settling.
As for the Burning dog enjoy
So what level are most of you these days? My characters are currently on another server, but leveling seems quick.
12-16 is the most common range.
Gorm is the highest with an insane lvl 33.
I’m #2 at 23.
Well I got the tabard but I made a mistake and got a slightly different icon color but it’ll work.
So what colors did we end up with? I won’t be able to afford a tabard for a while, and it looks awful on my char anyway. Totally distorted in front, and completely blocked by my hair in back.
I hadn’t realized that 12-16 was the most common level range. I’m 14 right now. If anyone else in that level range would like to, I’d be interested in setting some times to meet up and work on quests together. We should all have some quests in common or be able to share them with each other. Sturmhauke (Malevond) and I were getting our butts kicked by those darn centaurs last night (and I still didn’t find any more bracers!). We could sure use a melee type to group up with.
Also, I’m wondering if anyone would be up for another assault on Ragefire Chasm this weekend. I think there are a couple of quests that we didn’t do last time we were in there. Any takers?
