That is an interesting question. My experience was in Southern California. It was an established community, with paid gatekeepers and gardeners and a few housekeepers, so I have to guess that it was legal. A lot of porn comes out of S. Ca…
I didn’t smoke tobacco and my employer did. When people were visiting while I was working, they had to go outside to smoke because my employer was pretty sure that it was illegal to subject me to the smoke. I never checked on that either. The rules are different for self employed people working in homes and I didn’t want to have to tell him that he was wrong and that they could smoke around me.
Yeah, I’m strange. The nudity thing was nothing. Not wearing high heels…pure bliss. Smoking around me would have sent me off to balance someone else’s books.
If someone offered me a good job at my age, I’d take it in a heartbeat, house and all. If people could adapt to looking at my aged naked body, I could adapt to having it looked at.
I’d do it. I’ve been to nudist camps a few times. Naked people don’t bother me. I’d bring my husband and kids. My husband would LOVE it, he was the one who instigated the nudist camp visits. Don’t know how the kids would feel. I expect they’d get used to it pretty quickly, but they don’t seem to be nudists at heart.
I find I don’t care much for being totally naked even at home unless I am in bed. I don’t like to be very active if I’m braless and as a chubby thighed woman I’ve got to have at least shorts on to avoid chafing if I walk around much.
It sounds great in that I could wear exactly what I wanted, which is clothing, but very very light casual clothing.
I work First Aid at those festivals **Sunspace **is talking about. I don’t even get paid, much less well, just get in for free. Although I have to admit that I was an attendee before I worked there, so the culture is no shock for me.
Honestly, the hard part is putting on jeans and a bra to go to work, since it’s not safe to work First Aid in flowing skirts or nothing at all - never know when you may have to race off and lift and carry, or squeeze into hard to reach places to help someone.
What I will say, though, is that not enough nudists bring enough sunscreen, and being nude on your body is no excuse to bring shitty footwear to a camping event. Gods, I’m sick of treating sunburns and foot injuries!
Well, I know there is a public nudity law in California, but maybe a gated community counts as private. I looked up the law, and it is as follows (bolding mine):
The bolded parts could also be relevant: a private nudist community don’t have anyone who is present to be offended or annoyed, have their own standards of decency, and are vehement about not trying to incite sexual thoughts.
Similar, with many of the same people. But oddly, I’ve been to dozens of pagan festivals in the last 10 years and never made it to PSG. It’s going to be in my neck of the woods this year, though, so maybe I’ll be able to make it this time!
I wouldn’t. That’s nasty. What if someone has a nasty rash or fungus somewhere on their body? Or a visible STD on their genitals? I don’t want to be a part of that.
I wouldn’t. I’ve never been around naked people besides the gym shower & the bedroom, so I have no idea how I’d react. I’m not willing to change jobs if I think there’s a reasonable chance I’d be unable to deal with the environment - what if I realize I’m just permanently uncomfortable with it, and now have to find another job?
I would take the job in a heartbeat, along with the housing, and probably would go nude a lot. My only concern is my daughter, who’s developmentally delayed. She has a hard time understanding what things are appropriate when and where and why already. We could probably handle it though.
Another concern: If it were in a conservative county like the one I live in now, my ex could likely sue for, and win, custody of my daughter if I moved her to a nudist community.
This is off-topic, but it’s my thread, so I don’t care.
I’m not quite understanding your negotiating strategy, Rysdad. If you’re at the stage of a moving to a new job in which it’s clear the position is yours and you’re just talking about how much you’re paid, and you’re having to make the first offer, how close to the moon are you going to go? Why would you START with a “reasonable” offer?
Nudest colony = no tshirts (which is why I didn’t get one)
That’s why I was so !!! about the elderly gentleman in the walker. I could see that he was going to have painful parts when he got home. There were vacation rentals and I could tell who was just renting because of the nice tans over most of their bodies and red parts that are usually covered in public
