Wrapping up January in the MMP

I decided to leave really early today, so there would be less pressure. I’ll see if I can get to Japan without getting stressed out.

I hope you feel better soon Swampy

Happy travels TB.

I’m feeling irritable today.
The dog and cat are driving me crazy, they don’t want to stay outside so all the pent up energy is getting released indoors.
My son is flipping out over school work, this is going to be a very busy semester. His way of releasing his anxiety is to tell me over and over what assignments he has to do.

ruble, I’ve never seen cream of bacon soup in the store. Is it kinda like the rest of the cream of condensed soups?

It was 19F when I left for irk this morning and 46F when I left. I’m thinking that I’ll take my car to the carwash this weekend. I need to decide what I’m taking to the Superbowl/birthday party this weekend. I’m thinking chunks of turkey kielbasa sauteed and make a mustard dip for it.

Well, I did something stupid and embarrassing this week; thankfully, there was no real harm done.

When I withdrew money from Mom’s bank account on the 25th, I forgot to add that transaction to my checkbook app on my phone. All this time I thought I had more than $300 in the account, when in fact I was almost entirely out of money. Couldn’t pay for KFC/Taco Bell today with that card, but thankfully we had enough cash for it.

And I get paid tomorrow. We’ve got an appointment for someone to come look at our RV’s refrigerator, which isn’t pumping cool air into its compartments. (The light goes on, though.) In the meantime, we’ve yanked out the old, smaller fridge from our former RV to serve as a backup. I deliberately didn’t mention that the fridge I made the appointment for is an RV fridge, fearing that they wouldn’t come if they knew that. Fingers crossed that that doesn’t come back to bite me. Also, they could come at any time between 3 and 7, and our sunsets are around 5:30 or 6 o’clock right now. Also, it won’t go above 32 degrees Fahrenheit all day tomorrow.

So, either I’m worrying about nothing, or tomorrow’s gonna suck.

remember that flood that didn’t happen yesterday? well it came back about 6 am and didn’t stop til about a quarter after 4

as for cream of bacon soup ….its just your normal cream of soup just greasier and saltier qith a tiny bit of bacon flavoring …if you like bacon fat …youll like it since its made with the bargains "ends and pieces " bags youll see at any butchers shop ……

got a few lessons in modren parenting today … nephew has been sick since Tuesday mom was supposed to take him in to see the doc but didn’t so she dropped him off here and said if he still sounds bad shell take him later ……. well dad came over for him and he stopped for all of 20 minutes…
he turned to the nephew and asked “do you need to go in?” of course he said no like any 9 year old would but he started up again and if he stayed home tomorrow hed have to get a docs note to go back home

But could you imagine being asked? I wouldn’t of had a choice at all…

Truck got there at noon. Got a bunch done. The whole credit/debit system went FUBAR for an hour. Making baked fried chicken with **N.O.T.**s and mexican style street corn.

Yep! And welcome to the MMP, M[sup][sup]2[/sup][/sup]!

Not minding

I read that as procreated.:eek:;):dubious::smiley:

:crosses fingers for the fridge : Flipper!

TB, may your flight be stress-free.

Flipper! Good to see you here. Glad the money situation worked out, one reason I don’t carry a debit card or phone app is that I’m afraid I’d lose track somewhere along the way.

Shady, I might have gotten asked as a kid how sick I was, but the decision on the Doctor was always Mom’s. Hope you stayed dry.

Red, Apparently Campbell’s makes a Cream of Bacon soup (Of course, Campbell’s tends to cream anything edible to make soup (Mushrooms, Celery, Chicken, Asparagus…).

Sari, recommend swatting someone on the Butt…doesn’t matter if it’s the dog, cat, or boy, someone needs to be swatted…

Decided to eat out and ended up at a place called the Metro Diner and ate their “Holy Davoli” burger (1/3lb patty with a lettuce/chopped pickle/mayo dressing) placed in-between two grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato and bacon. Add fries and I may not be hungry until Saturday.

Oh, did get a big bag of Lay’s Potato Chips for Super Bowl Sunday. It’s the only time of the year I buy chips for the house, just a habit I got into years ago.

All y’all have a good night.

any way you could sent me one of those burgers ? id even ignore my hate for the tomato and pickles ……

While it’s still 74 degrees now at 6:30pm, it’s dropping down into the 60s every night. We’re freezing in solidarity with our mainland brothers.

<sniff sniff> I couldn’t be prouder of you iffin youse was mine own son. <sniff sniff>

Not to me. Its thicker and more strongly flavored than most canned soups I know. It strikes me more as something to cook with more than eat. I will try of course but my plan is to add say half a can of milk to cut it down a little and smooth it out. Oh ------- and I added crumbled cooked bacon since you never have too much bacon.

(I’m also thinking of it for a baking sauce on top of meatloaf.)

Well, skool is indeed cancelled for the day. Apparently a lot of people were stuck on the main road until about 2am last night. We got a similar amount (a few inches) of snow last year, but before that it was nearly 10 years since they got more’n a few flakes that didn’t stick, so this really did catch people by surprise.

The only ‘cream of’ soup I ever have anything to do with is tomato- my parents never bought it, it was something I only ever had as a kid while staying with my Great Uncle, and it still mentally registers as a bit of a treat. It’s weird how some food does that; if I’d been introduced to it as an adult, I’d probably be totally indifferent.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 36 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of 60 and mostly cloudy for the day. TWPTB say rain tonight and tomorrow. We shall see. Today I shall take care of candle duty over to the church house along with a couple routine first of the month Junior Warden things. Sup shall be sketties ‘n meatballs, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread. Feelin’ a bunch better this mornin’ but haid still feels all stuffded up.

Flipper! ::tacklehug:: LTNS! Hope the fridge thing works out for ya.

TB I guess you are in Tokyo by now. Hope the flight was stress free.

M[sup]2[/sup] welcome to the MMP!

Suprisin’ as this might come to y’all, I am not intrigued by cream of bacon soup. Matter of fact I am not impressed by any of the cream o’ soups. Like MOOOOOOM has said, I can make a white sauce and even flavor it as I feel the need. IMO that is not a lot of work and tastes better.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Such a bother!

Happy Firday Y’all!

TGIF! I had a terrible night - dreaming that I was hiding out in some undisclosed Middle East country with or without Roxy. Two of my cousins showed up briefly, too. It was very confusing and disturbing and I don’t know who I was hiding from or why or where I was. I kept waking up, then falling back into the dream. Ergo, I’m exhausted. So TGIF!

Still below freezing, but it was 21° which beats 8° by a lot: 13° to be precise! And we’re promised mid-40s tomorrow and low 50s on Sunday. Weird, weird weather.

Lots of work on my desk, so I foresee heavy caffeination.

Happy Firday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Hockey after work.

Happy Firday!

It’s a chilly 16 degrees outside.
According to my phone app we should get a bit of snow.

Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40s.
I suppose I’ll order groceries today to be picked up tomorrow.

MetalMouse, there are times I’d like to smack all of them. Probably times they’d like to smack me too  Well, the cat does smack me from time to time. That is when I threaten to get the pliers and rip his claws out one by one. He doesn’t care, can’t understand a word I say unless it’s ‘treats’.

Made it to Tokyo. Only got triggered once on the trip here, so that’s progress.

One sister gets so stressed on vacations she simply stopped taking them. Why the hell my mom would keep planning them when I was a kid is beyond me. Nothing was worse than being stuck with my father driving the car all day and constantly losing his cool. It just makes it hard to relax.

Fortunately we have a light schedule tomorrow. I’ll get some downtime.

Heat wave! It’s a tropical 3 ABOVE zero.

It’s still -6 up here… but by tomorrow it’ll close to 40. What the?

I’m wondering how many babies will be born in about 9 months. Cold weather like this always creates a baby boom.

::Reported:: (Post padding is against the rules) :stuck_out_tongue:
Up, not sheveled. Irk 'puter in my lap. Off later to provide a great service for youse. I shall witness the making of the weather forecast tomorrer & report it all to you. Of course, with the majik of livestreaming, you can probably see it the same time as me & have a better view too. Plus watch it whilst being all warm & snuggly in your bed. However, I shall be having…an adventure!

BLURF Busy busy first of the month. Inventory in progress and I almost forgot it’s payroll day, In the process of trying to log on to the payroll system. Usually this is an all day event. Boggles the brain that the systems the fed uses are so fouled up.
