Wrapping up January in the MMP

Oh my God!!! He really IS trying to kill the MMP!!!
On other news it finally is back into doubledigits-plus-side so of course it snowed a fair bit and the roads have turned very nasty. With luck they will be under control by the time I leave for work. With luck they will still be OK when I actually leave work.

Still snowing here. My son is going to have to go out and shovel the sidewalks.
Makes me wonder if we should get groceries tomorrow or Sunday.
It’s not a problem for me, I have lots of food to eat. My picky son is the one who is not going to be happy.

Sorta fun task this weekend - I need to take in some of my pants. I’ve shed close to 25 poundages (it’s amazing what a difference it makes when one quits snacking after dinner!) I’m hoping to shed a bit more before I have to replace my wardrobe, skipping at least one size. So I’ll take a few tucks here and there to keep my jeans from falling off.

And I’ve got grandmother duty on Sunday - **FCD **is putting daughter and SIL to work in the shop. The kid is on the verge of walking, so life as we know it is about to change drastically. She wears me out as it is!! *THIS *is why women in their 60s are insane if they want to birth babbies! I have spoken!!!

OK, lunch time!

Can a sixty year old woman deliver a baby?

There have been news reports of women in their 50s and 60s getting pregnant - with medical intervention, of course, because the human body is smart enough to stop reproduction long before then.

Congrats on the weight loss Mooommmm. That is huge.

There have also been stories of moms who act as surrogates for their grown daughters. I saw one where the daughter had some sort of malformation in her uterus, so her mother (in her late 50s if I recall) carried two pregnancies for her daughter. But that mom as also SUPER in shape and health and such. I’ve heard other news stories about that kind of thing, too.

Plus, there are some women who get pregnant naturally at that age. I mean, in the US, the average age for menopause to begin is 51. That means some women start in their 40s, but some start in their 60s… which means they’re capable of producing children until then.

YIKES. I’m 35 and done… I may still have another 20-30 years of worrying about this shit.

Talk about* the Giving Tree*!

Thanks! It really wasn’t my goal. I was just trying to eat less junk and more fruits and veggies. Turns out, the junk was the fattening stuff! Who’d’a thunk it?? <snerk>

Baby Engineer tells me it’s snowing. I’m too lazy to walk to the lobby, so I’ll believe him. Two anna half hours to go, tho…

My great grandmother had her first baby at 19 and her last baby when she was 46. She probably thought she was done as the first 12 came at regular intervals. There was a 5? year gap between the last two.

Still snowing here.
I think groceries will be put off until Sunday. My son is going to have to eat whatever is available.
I’ll make some deviled eggs for him.

OK, I walked to the lobby (I’m cold and I wanted some hot chocolate.) Yep, it’s snowing. And I have one of those long-handled snow brushes to clear the car windows. It’s at home in the garage. Good planning, huh? :stuck_out_tongue:

**sari **- my MIL’s youngest sister is 13 years younger than she is! The first 5 were each born 2 years apart. I’m guessing Barb was a surprise!

My ex was friends with a couple in their 40s. They had two sons late teens, early 20s? Around my age at the time. The wife thought she had gone through menopause and surprise surprise, she got pregnant. Totally changed their plans.

I ordered some rugelach for my mother, her birthday is Wednesday.

Howdy Y’all! Plans for doin’ stuff over to the church house got changed until tomorrow. Thus I have been in semi-slug mode here at da cave. Semi cause I did kind of arrange the herbs ‘n spices cabinet, as in, the stuff I use most is on one shelf and other stuff is on a shelf above that shelf. However none of it is alphabetized. I can feel doggio twitchin’ from here.

Sari, I had to google rugelach, had never (to the best of my knowledge) heard of it. Sounds good.

My mom was in her late thirties when brother and I were born; father and her married late (he was in his 40’s) and got busy rather quickly.

FCM, I’ve tried losing weight that way–I don’t buy potato chips, cookies, french fries for home consumption, so far I’m staying even, but if I ever started exercising…

Speaking of which, have done nothing constructive all day except sit in front of the computer internettin’. So nothing to report. Except it’s 64F today in N. Ali-bama.

MetalMouse, I’ve never had rugelach either, but I know its the kind of stuff my mother likes.
I sent her a variety pack of chocolate, cinnamon, raspberry, and apricot.

I had my son rwo days before I turned 38.
I never wanted kids, but he is the best thing that ever happened to me.
As Bob Ross used to say, there are no mistakes, just happy accidents.

Congrats on the weight loss FCM.

Still snowing, the roads are covered, and according to my neighbor, they are slippery.
I finally got a chance to talk to her about the gate and the room upstairs. Not a long talk because it is too cold to talk outside.

I think we won’t be getting groceries until Sunday. Maybe Moonday.

Been bizzy all day. I am at a stopping point though. I forgot to mention I have Federal jury duty starting on Moanday for a period of two weeks. I have to call after 530 Sunday and every day to see if I must report. I hope not. Ain’t nobody got time for that especially at the beginning of the month.
We got 59 minutes for the late arrival to irk on Moanday due to the Super Bowl. I shall use mine right now. Happy Weekend.

HOME!! Baby Engineer cleared the snow off my car windows, so I need to take him a prize on Monday.

**FCD **and I are going out for supper - not sure where, but he wants to get out of the house and I want to get out of cooking, so win-win.

I got a voice mail from the appraiser who’s supposed to look at our house. I understood his first name and his area code, and I think there was an 8 somewhere in the phone number, but that was it. I had to email the credit union and ask them to have him call again or email me or something. You’d think people who want a call back would make sure their message was clear.

Other than that, not a lot going on. Glad my work week is over.

We have ingested sup and the kitchen is all cleanded. Thus goes yet another wild Firday night here at da cave.

Mom and dad got married on May 10, 1946. My oldest brother was born on April 10, 1947. Folks got busy pretty much right away. Or as my dad was fond of sayin’, “Our oldest was born in April. We got married in May.”

Anyone heard from midget? Don’t think she’s checked in this week.
