Wrapping up July in the MMP

Couldn’t he just go to a concert?

swampy, you’ve done flung a cravin for scallops on me.

{{{wet one}}}**

metal mouse, add Nashville to the weather connect-the-dots game. It sounds like you, George, swampy and I are in for rain and cooler weather this weekend.

I called it again. Cow-orker was out today. Fortunately, it’s the first of the month when there’s a chance to breathe. I did have the talk with the boss though. She was in agreement.

Tomorrow is a uniform free day. Yay! They’re also feeding us catfish and the fixins from one of the better local catfish places.

Now to get the craft ready for the heathen children so that I can deliver it to another committee member to use while I go to my family reunion.

My coworkers both went to out of state schools for engineering - that explains the debt.

Roxy rolled over FOUR TIMES this evening! She also skootches up into the crawling position, but that’s still a ways off. But slowly, she’s achieving mobility.

I think it’s time for ice cream.

Sah-son should have stayed with drafting. He was good at it but he didn’t like it. He finally admitted to me that he only took it because he felt pressure by my mother and her bf - her bf had taught drafting at the vo-tech where my son went.

I don’t know what he is going to do, he still hasn’t picked a major and I think he has to before school starts.

Red - my son go to a concert? It would be good for him but I can barely get him out of the house.

Yay for Roxy mobility, better you than me though. My favorite time of child rearing is when you set them down and they are still in the same place when you come back to get them. Once they start walking, life is over as you know it.

school is starting for my aunts grandmonster Tuesday and well im annoyed it starts so early anymore but happy because hell be here only 2 or 3 hours a day
Hes at the stage I don’t get along with kids (age 7-11) since they’re rules lawyers and the adults can do no wrong and hes always right about everything ……. in a few years once he learns how the world actually works well get along again …

Well, the plumber came by to do some measuring for tomorrow and shut of the water for the house (that’s cool) but didn’t tell me he was doing so (that’s not cool). So had to stop at Wally’s place to get 6 gallons of water for ‘necessities’. Hopefully he’ll do his thing tomorrow and I can have running water instead of having to run for water…

Sari, I’m happy for the good news for Sah-son!! Maybe being in a college atmosphere will help concentrate him on what he wants to do (not that what you do in college ends up what you do in life–I was educated to be a teacher; I ended up a Government bureaucrat).

And as for the classes…that was a weekend on Front Street when I was in college…

FCM, yeah for Roxy. But Sari’s right, once she figures out this upright mobility thing, life will get a lot more interesting…

Mornin’ all.

Busy day today; volunteerin’ at plant nursery, which would be sufficient busyness, but I forgot and accidentally agreed to irk an extra shift waitressin’ this eve. I finish at the nursery at 5, paid irk starts at 5.45-6… There should just be time to come home, shower, get changed and get there, as luckily they’re both close.

Baby mobility doesn’t concern me as much as having to baby-proof the house. Plus we’ve got this brick hearth… when I was in college, I babysat a toddler who (not on my watch!) went face-first into the corner of their brick hearth. I’m thinking of upholstering it in bubble wrap.

Daughter and SIL got their car inspected, repaired, and it’s now good to be titled in MD. It’s a 2009 and all told, including inspection and oil change, it cost just under $1500 to make it right. Dunno what it’ll cost to title it and all, but we’re covering the costs till they’re employed and can pay us back. Whenever that’ll be… I really can’t complain, tho - our parents helped us out of a few tight financial spots. Circle of Life and all that.

Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 (BRRR!) and a hunnert percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. Thus, mowage shall not ensue. Only a fifty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse tomorrow, so maybe tomorrow. Da yahd is gettin’ to the point I may need to rent a hay baler. We shall sup on sketties and meatballs, sallit, and garlic bread. Skettie sauce and meatballs are outta da freezer and thawin’ as I post. Other than that, I shall pretty much be a sloth today. Netflix shall get a workout.

Sari, yay for Sah-son! Gettin’ out of college debt free is sump’n to celebrate.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Happy Thorsday!

I’m sleepy, had weird dreams. But I am up and irking.

It’s a cloudy 70 degrees outside, with rain and a high of 77 predicted.
The temps will go back up to normal, high 80s, starting Saturday.

I don’t know what else I am doing today, too early to decide. I already paid bills this morning, as Thorsday is bill paying day. I need to do some laundry, and vacuuming. Always vacuuming.

Morning all.

Slept until 6:30am, which is pretty good for me. The re-modelers have been showing up about 8am, so I’ll make myself presentable before then. Got the Garbage can outside last night.

I can’t find anyone to take my appliances–Habitat for Humanity doesn’t want them and one of the Christian Charities can’t take them, so I’ll try the Salvation Army and if they don’t I’ll junk them or put them on the street for the trash folks, and others can pick them over.

Reminds me, need to bug Habitat folks if they want my cabinets or not. If not, into the dumpster they go.

Already wondering what I’ve gotten myself into…

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today.

**MetalMouse **- have you considered putting your appliances in the FREE section of Craig’s List or a similar local site? We have one in the county here that’s great - I’ve gotten rid of all kinds of stuff that way. I hate throwing away things that still can be used and sometimes selling isn’t worth the hassle. I’ve even left things sitting on the corner of our yard with a FREE sign on them, and they disappear.

There are lots of scrappers in my town, so anything metal put at the curb is gone within an hour. MetalMouse, check with your utilities company. Our electric company will take still working appliances.

Morning. Another day another buck and a half.

I have tons of stuff to keep me busy today.
Yay for SahSon on free education. Hugs to Midget. Everyone else have a great day.

Finally found a Christian Charity that will take them, I’ll also donate several old office chairs to them that have been taking up space for years, so that is done.

Work is really progressing nicely. Electrician and Plumber are here today rearranging things. The toilet alcove is going to be really spacious now, but the sink area will be a bit smaller than I imagined; no big thing, however.

It’s icky outside today, pouring rain, wet and chilly.

I sat outside on the deck with Ripple for a bit, he gets pretty obnoxious about wanting me to come outside with him. He hates the rain but he wants to go outside anyway.

Too chilly and too many skeeters for me to stay out too long.

Good luck with the appliances, metalmouse. Over here, the Sally Bash will take just about anything if it’s not nailed down - we used them several times to get rid of stuff when we couldn’t find anywhere else for it to go.

sari - congrats to sah-son, I feel veyr sorry for our students who have to pay massive amounts of fees and then leave with a huge debt. They don’t have to repay anything until their earnings hit a certain level, and I believe that after a fair length of time the debts can be written off if their earnings are still low, but it would still worry me tremendously to have that amount of debt lurking in the wings.

{{{midget}}}…just 'cos.

I am almost staffless today. One of my team is off sick, two have booked leave, one doesn’t work this end of the week and one has a term-time only contract. And tomorrow my other minion goes on leave…so if the sickie doesn’t come back in, I’ll be sitting here by myself!

Sari, congrats for your son! College is NOT cheap, speaking as someone who went back to school and finished not too long ago. I’m lucky, too, because my husband works for the college I went to, so I got free tuition, but I still had to buy my books, pay lab fees, etc. Even with that, I had to take out small loans each semester (mostly to pay for my kid’s day care so I could go to school, but anyway.) I’m hoping he’s still there in 20 years when Romeo Jr. is finishing college. He likes what he does and he’s good at it, so maybe…

But speaking of my husband’s work… still haven’t spoken to him since I went to bed Sunday. I kinda miss the dude. I mean, he’s in the house, sleeping in my bed, but we’re on totally opposite schedules. It’s frustrating and crabby-making. But he might have tomorrow off if they can get everything prepped up tonight. Whatever they’re serving them won’t require all the chefs and my husband is the furthest into overtime. So maybe I’ll talk to him tomorrow afternoon.

I guess I will make my weekly trip to the Pubic Store as the cupboards are nearly bare here at irk. I have a craving for chicken wings but I have some leftovers I need to finish off. I shall see if I can find some frozen wings. And I will get cukes, bell peppers and tomatoes for snacks.

Hungry!

Not until he has the class on Rock & Roll!

Advice: Kick her legs out.

Ours gives you $25 or so credit to get rid of & replace old energy hogs.

If the sickie doesn’t come back, you’ll be stuck with that one annoying cow-orker, huh? :stuck_out_tongue:
My watch band is breaking; I know I bought a replacement & it’s somewhere in the house; anyone wanna remind me where I put it when I got it in March? :o
