**Spidey **- looks like we’ll be checking out the balloons on Sunday, based on weather and the cheaper ticket prices. That’ll give me Saturday to get my chores done. rah.
CREO is doing weird stuff for me today - I’ve had to dump and re-do a couple of things. I do so hate this software! But it’s lunch time, so there’s that.
Making Southwestern style shrimp and [del]grits[/del]quinoa* for brunch. Gordie is engaged in a life or death struggle, as the maintenance golf cart and The Invisible Mole People have joined forces.
swampy, next time you go to :eek:Wally-World:eek:, you can pick up some funeral potatoes to go with the Death Chicken.
Juiliet, sorry you don’t see Romeo in a conscious state. But yay for it being closer to football season
Yay for Sah-Son getting smart for free!(Of course when I got smart, Mom would break out the switch. )
*I was born in Milwaukee, so don’t break out the fainting couch and clutching pearls.
I will definitely be there thru Sun AM, but might leave after that flight as it’s a long ride home for some if we stay for Sun PM* (& we have nowhere to hang Sun afternoon, once we checkout of the hotel.)
I have about 2 hrs but M has 4 hrs, & when you figure can’t we get on the road before 9pm after the flight…
There are morning flights/activities, then it closes for a bit before reopening at 2pm

Howdy Y’all! I have not been as slothful as I could have been. I have straightened up the drawers in the dresser and chest in the bedroom. My how things in those drawers get in disarray! ‘Tis only 74 Amurrkin out as I post and has been rainy most of the day. On the up side, I have opened windows on the back side of da cave and in the dinin’ room, an almost unheard of thing to do in August down this way!
Spidey stuff is always in the last place you look, so look there first.
We’re not going to ride in balloons. We’re going to see balloons, and my daughter plans to take lots of photos. Plus, you know, fresh air and sunshine and stuff…
Rolled out of bed at 9am this morning, after 6.75 hrs sleep.
Had an 11am doctor appt. so figured I had plenty of time for a cuppa an a bagel.
Decided to eat brekkie in front of the computer.
An hour and a half later: Urmegard! I have 20 minutes to shower, dress and hit the road!
As I’m about ready to leave, Wifey storms into the house and announces that she locked her keys in her car at the credit union. :o
Doggio, yes, hooray for football season! And next week, he’s only doing 2 days of training camp meals; he’s needed for other things during the day the rest of the week. Plus, at the end of training camp, they usually send home some leftover swag that they can’t reuse in a larger scale setting (such as a cafeteria or large catering). Sometimes it’s bags of chips and bottles of Snapple, sometimes it’s a cut of nice meat… who knows what he’ll bring home this year!
Spidey, Mooommm (and any other mumpers who are attending), have fun with the balloons this weekend! I hope the weather cooperates!
Yeah… I’m trying not to think about it, to be honest. I think the current scheme is 30 years and it’s written off (the old scheme was age 65, I think; I get mixed 'cos I have loans under both schemes, which would coincidentally all be written off at the same age due to being 35 when I took the second out).
Volunteering today wound up kinda interesting; 10 minutes before I left, the owner came over for a chat. Turns out they don’t really take volunteers, but the place is hiring, for, among other things, one part-time staff member to irk with the plants. Apparently I had a job trial without being aware of it…
I ain’t a shoo-in, there’s a few other people applied that are getting a trial, but I wasn’t expecting that! Everyone seemed really nice, so I shall keep all available appendages crossed.
Just made it in time to waitressing shift. It was crazy busy and wound up basically being an 8:30am- 9.15 pm day, so I’m knackered.
Slothful day, all I did was clean the bathroom and kitchen, take out the trash, walk Gordie. There’s a flash flood warning today for another half hour. Having a Manhattan for cocktail hour.
Cool! And I gotta remember to pack my Aaron Rodgers jersey for Convention next week.
We have supped. 'Twas good plus leftovers for both of us for N.O.L. tomorrow, so win-win. I’m told the cookies were a hit. YAY! Also, I might, possibly, maybe, sorta, kinda be able to mow tomorrow. TWPTB are all willy-nilly about it but one can hope.
Nuts appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for ya!
spidey, your watchband is at my workplace. (we keep replacement bands for Apple and Samsung wearables for insurance claim repairs).
I had a boring day today, a good lunch of catfish and hushpuppies courtesy of the company and bugged out around 2. I voted in the primary election on the way home, so I have the right to complain until the general.
Tonight, I’ll kick back to work on my current studio project and watch a couple of episodes of Blue Bloods on Ion. Such an exciting life.
