That’s what it says in his profile. I know he’d gotten several warnings, but did anyone see what was the final straw?
If asking this sort of thing is not allowed, please close this thread.

Coldie mentioned it here: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=151370
I don’t see where that post was hostile. I’ll tell you what’s hostile…those low-rider cars! Now THAT’S hostile!
About fucking time.
I believe the rule is that discussions of the propriety of a banning are acceptable (though discouraged), but inquiries as to why a person was banned should be directed towards the staff via email. Such threads have a tendency to attract certain creatures out from underneath their bridges, particularly when the banned poster was one of their own. Not that such is the case here.
Count me as one who thought that was a perfectly acceptable OP in the correct forum taken as a single post.
It was, but if you’ve ever read a reply to a thread by him it was either him being far snottier than deserved or had   in it.
I’m searching like mad and I can’t find much. Only one time when he was given a warning about calling someone “ignorant” in a non-BBQ forum. I’m .
Shit, I must be next!
Oh, forgot this:
No, you forgot this:
Anyways I think I’ll bow out of this thread so I’m not accused of excessive dancing on the grave of someone who can’t reply.
Y’know, my understanding is that that’s accurate, but I think it may be a distinction that elevates form over substance. After all, to discuss the propriety of a banning necessarily requires inquiry into what ban-worthy conduct the banned poster engaged in. Thus, the appropriateness of a ban inquiry is wholly related to how it is phrased. To wit:
“Why was X banned?” is inappropriate as an OP
while
“I don’t think X should have been banned” is fine.
This is so even though the latter necessarily invites the same information as the former in slightly different form (“I disagree; X’s A, B and C posts were ban-worthy” vs. “X was banned for A, B and C.”)
Having said that, I’m not particularly bothered by the rule or anything – I generally stay away from the “X was banned!” threads anyway. I just think the distinction is one of those things to stroke you chin and go “hmmmmmm” over.
I don’t think the linked thread is to the post in question that got WSLer banned, but simply a link to a thread where Coldfire mentioned why he was banned. WSLer’s post in that thread had nothing to do with it.
So, who’s applying for the crankiest Teeming Millionth now that WSLer is gone?
Oh! Oh! I am!
That would make more sense, but what would make even MORE sense would be the Mod’s statement in a thread that actually demonstrated the offense, so we all may learn and be better people for it.
It looks like this post is what did him in… I think it was the inplication that all rock/rap stars are drug dealers and would have to turn to murdering old laddies to support themselves if their record floped.
Seconded.
Woo, I can shorten what can’t be named by one.
Somehow, I don’t think it was the Volvo thread that got him banned. If so, 'm on borrowed time… have you seen some of the shit I post?
Looked to me like the mods had warned in e-mail form about a certain pattern of hostilty in his posts. Maybe he royally flamed the mods in an e-mail?
Anyways, I’ve been admonished myself myself in a few threads, but no e-mail warnings as of yet. (actually, I think I’m learning.) I tend to stay in the sarcasm arena and I love making someone look twice. But, I really don’t like arguing. I do tend to push buttons, though…
I can’t say I’m surprised (well, I CAN say it, I mean , I’m capable of making those sounds).
He was warned within the past week about his unwarranted attacks on others. A few weeks ago, when I called him out here, I knew his days were numbered.
My memory is fuzzy, but is this the second time he’s been banned?
