My cats are unregenerate heathens. I think most are, really.
It’s 77 Amurkin in Mayberry, and 69 where I work at the Coastie Base. Kinda scarey thinking about what comes tomorrow…
It was 7 degrees F here this morning with a wind chill of -7. Yup, sure am glad I’m a Minnesotan.
It’s 67° F here right now. It’s nearly December. What is wrong with this picture?
And in other news: YEEEEEEEHAHHHH!!! Papa Tigs got the offer today for the gummint job they decided was his a while back (and that he’s been doing in addition to his contractor scum job for the past couple of months)! They’re in final salary negotiations, but all in all it’s going to be a Good Deal. Among other things, he can buy his military time for the retirement system (he has 13 years in the Air Force), so he should be able to retire several years earlier than he would have been able to as a non-gummint employee. And get a high-paying second job to keep me in the style to which I wish to become accustomed! So we’re very happy, for obvious reasons.
Good [del]morning[/del] afternoon. I just got up and made coffee. I’m making some sloppy joes for lunch/dinner, then off to hockey.
Drae. I like full figured women.
rosie, sorry about the Dope block. Now I know why I hang in the MMP, it has the highest concentration of cute redhead on the internet. ![]()
bobbio, the best job would be winery tour guide. I went with my parents to one in California, and the guide was slurring at 10a.m.
Taters, hope you can find a bed for Grandma and Grandpa. Maggie Wonderbeagle will wag for you.
myndy, that reminds me of Blazing Saddles: Excuse me, while I whip this out…
swampy, it scares me to think a prison has a big enough mess to need* many* mops. It’s supposed to storm tomorrow here, so bobbio may catch some.
LiLi, you should tell your husbands that Decenber 5th is Ninja Day
BooFae, Lucretia is a familar of Satan. At least I think that is why she knocks over Crucifixes, knaws on my Rosary, and shreds Papal Encyclicals.
Yay for PapaTigs!! I have about 35 more years till I can retire.
What great news Mama Tigs! Congrats to the hubby (and you)!
I was going to write a few more things, but they’ve all slipped my mind. My boss wants me to contact a particular individual and spend some time with her to learn more about MapPoint. I will, of course, contact her. However, I am loathe to do it because she was gunning for my job before I got it. When I came on board, she made no absolutely no bones about how disappointed she was that I got this job. I have actually know this woman for about 23 years now, but she has changed since I last worked around her. I have not told my boss about her ill feelings towards me and this division.
Ah well. I’ll call her. If she tells me no, I’ll tell the boss and he can deal with it. In the meantime, I’ll pursue other avenues of learning this program.
Newsletter is mailed. ::whew::
I think I’ll nap before the game tonight.
It’s 46F here, and windy. Give us our weather back! The headline yesterday: Buffalo is Balmier.
I spent the morning training. And I got my transcript in by the deadline, so I get my $100. :happy dance: And, my pay stub says that I will be receiving another $200 gift certificate. Now I just have to wait for them to get around to delivering it, hopefully by tomorrow, unless I decide I can’t wait and call my supervisor to ask where it is.
My cube is littered with itineraries from a manager who saves up all her travel for the end of the calendar year. Her final trip is a mess. There are 2 separate itineraries for the same trip, since she’s not sure when she’s going to get to the airport. This could be fun. At least that trip’s 2 weeks away, so it could change completely between now and then.
Aargh. Stupid lazy mail lady. Our mailbox is out by the street, but that’s not 20 feet from our front door. Where there’s a nice covered porch with a bench beside the door to put stuff on. Not to mention our street is the popular walking route into the neighborhood for all the folks who either (a) take the bus or (b) are kids going to and from school, so there are many, many dozens of people walking by all day long.
So what does the stupid mail lady do? She balances a package from Amazon.com for me, with $50 of books in it, on the rounded top of our mailbox rather than get out of her truck and walk the 20 feet to the door to deliver it safely. I’m just glad I noticed it sitting out there and grabbed it before some punk-ass kid took it or something!
I’m definitely going to to complain to the postmaster tomorrow. That’s freaking ridiculous. Of course, this is the same mail lady who, last year when the county managed to plow our street swerving out several feet in front of our mailbox so that we had to shovel a path to the mailbox for her through a foot of heavy wet snow, left a nastygram that unless we shoveled so she could DRIVE up to the mailbox, she would refuse to deliver our mail until the snow melted. I confronted her with it, and her argument was that if she had to do that at every house, she’d never get her route delivered. I just pointed up the street, where you could see for blocks that ours was the only mailbox not plowed directly up to by the stupid county, and suggested that perhaps she was exaggerating. She’s hated me since, for some strange reason. She’s going to hate me more after tomorrow. ![]()
Oh, hey! You know what just occurred to me?
Happy Birthday, Mika!!!
Apparently I am still explanation-impaired today. By “do that,” of course, I mean get out at every house and walk five feet to the mailbox. Which, of course, ours was the only one of the dozens in sight she had to do that for.
Can someone please tell my body to get well already so my brain will function even semi-normally again?
It’s 37 here and dropping fast. Lots of snow predicted–hooray!
Had to do some “firmware” update for my Macbook-it sounds vaguely suggestive to me.
I am cold today, but for the first time-I felt like I knew what I was doing at the library! I am very excited. I know you all are too.
Isn’t a cattery a house of prostitution? That Boofae --she gets around…
I have retrained my cat (on the vet’s advice). So far, it’s working and I am enjoying Simon once again. No time for details-but the meowing is to a minimum, thank og.
A True Cat only worships him or herself, and expects that you will feel the same way.
Happy Burfday 'Mika!!!
I don’t wanna discuss weather today. We’re in a “Winter Storm Warning”, which means the highly paid, and usually wrong weatherpeople have decided I need to wake up at 3AM to see if it snowed enough to disrupt school.
…………*
Happy Birthday Mika!!!

Happy Birthday 'Mika!
So there.
The weather stinks in the GTA right now. It started off quite nice – a bit of misty rain but otherwise gorgeous temps of 13-15C. But now it’s dropping by the minute – 5C currently – and pissing copious amounts of water. Tomorrow: Slush an’ crap. Weekend: Snow an’ crap. Highest temperature for the weekend and the foreseeable future? 1C.
I am not a fan of winter.
Happy Birthday, Mika. Hope you have many more.
I am beat, and my eyes hurt. We’re a distributor for a company that makes test equipment (a very large company, headquartered up in Taters’s neck of the world), and they sent out their new price list for January 2007. On Xerox[SUP]TM[/SUP]ed pieces of paper. Instead of issuing it as a spreadsheet, which is how the original price list came to us. So I got to enter several hundred new prices manually into the spreadsheet, track down product information for the new items that are on the 2007 list as only a part number and list price, and then get this out to all the people at our company that use it. In addition to everything else I had to do today. Bleh. Well, I got the prices in for the existing products - all the harder stuff can wait a couple of weeks.
So how’s your day?
Happy Birthday, Mika!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKA!
Is it time to go home yet? Yeesh! Boss wants me to publish a report a new way, so I had to fart around with that and got that done finally. Now I get to do that this afternoon too.
Also still need to contac the person I talked about in an earlier post. Blech.
Sean, hope your day improves, or that tomorrow is better. Your company needs to send you on business up here, then we could have a PNW Dopefest.
Well, off to do some more ever-so-exciting work.
Happy Birthday Meeks!
I like winter, Mindfield. I’m looking forward to snow. Nyah.
Does this mean that if one of your cats unfortunately loses a limb you will be angry at them and call them heathens? If I missed something I apologize, I just woke up (I work nights) and am trying to catch up.
