OK, something weird is going on. People have been emailing me their menu choices for the wedding. Now, keep in mind that this is such a small wedding that we used the inn’s full menu. So there were choices of filet mignon, pork loin, chicken, salmon, duck, and rack of lamb. And three - THREE - of the guys all asked for chicken. All of the girls asked for something more interesting, exciting, etc. Why in the world would the guys order chicken? Can someone explain this to me?
Nothing against chicken… we eat it all the time. But it’s so easy and cheap to make and eat that I use it at home a lot. So when we go out, I almost never order chicken. And I thought guys were more into red meat anyway. Just seemed very weird to me.

Taters No kidding. We do work with the shipyards up there, and in fact we’re sending a team to work on the USS Abraham Lincoln in January. Alas, they don’t need my services, even though I’m the only one at the company with 8 years experiance on the Nimiutz class carriers.
taxi maybe they’re trying to be considerate and not add to the cost of the wedding. Guys are like that. Women, however, will always take the lobster if theyy aren’t paying for it.

I am sorta pissed off. I went to order this one thing for Xmas, only to find that hammacher is out of it (and it was on sale there, too. damn). So I order from Apple. Like an hour ago. And I discovered that I ordered the wrong color. So, I called them and “Tamara” with the Valley Voice said that it’s already been “prepped for shipping” so no dice on the color change. My computer says it has not been shipped as yet. How hard would it be to change out the addy label and the box for another? But Tamara with the Valley Voice said NO.
Phooey.

It’s freaking 39° Ammurikan with 20-30 mph winds. That makes 29° with the wind chill. Pretty chilly, I tell ya! Considering I was wearing a tank top and shorts yesterday!
I’m so proud of myself! I cleaned the bathroom! Floors, tub, sinks, mirror, terlet… We’re all going to have to shave completely bald, including the dogs. There is just too much freakin’ hair gathering in the bathroom! (And no, it has nothing to do with the fact that I only deep clean it about every 2 months. 
I do the toilet and surrounding area more often, 'cause men are bad-aim pigs.)
Because Mika is exactly 24 days older than me.

Off to make toad in the hole again-I just feel like it. It’s getting colder and colder out-my decks are frozen and the puddles are glazed over. Come on, snow!

But this chicken dealio is befuddling. Yes maybe Sean is right and they’re being considerate, but that means you have some pretty darn considerate friends. Personally I’ve gone cow for every wedding I’ve been too.

First, after a quick skim, I see that no one has volunteered for Monday, so it’s mine, MINE I tell you!!!
Second: Happy Birthday, Meeks!!!
Third, it got up to 72-ish today, but tomorrow, we’re being threatened with sustained winds of 20-30 MPH and gusts to 60!!! :eek: So, how many trees in my yard will fall - anyone wanna hazard a guess?
Fourth, I got my tires rotated today, and by that I mean I took the Aerostar to Mr. Tire and took advantage of the free lifetime rotation that I get because I bought new tires 5000 miles ago.
And now, I’m’a gonna eat dinner…
So, is anybody gonna volunteer for Monday or what?

Well, I’m not up for this Monday, but how about I do (checks the calendar and counts off weeks surreptitiously) three weeks from now, Dec. 18? I haven’t done an MMP yet, but I’ll be home from my trip to visit The Mothers at that point so will be filled with all kinds of mundanity and pointlessness to share with you all.
